A perfect beach house vacation getaway with 2 large bedrooms, fireplace, secluded beach.
PEI Beach House by the Bay is a waterfront vacation home overlooking the Northumberland Strait, Confederation Bridge and SeacowHead Lighthouse. The bright open layout is ideal for relaxing and entertaining.
The location is private and the views from every window are breathtaking. The screened-in porch is the perfect place to enjoy the sunsets. The Adirondack chairs and a picnic table await you on the water side deck.
The beach is very quiet and the water is warm on this side of the Island. At low tide, our beach stretches for a mile.
The house has everything you need, including two large bedrooms and an open concept main floor with a fireplace. It is tempting to just stay put and relax, however, if you've never visited PEI, you'll want to leave your vacation getaway to see some of the Island's attractions. We are 15 - 30 minutes away from many of the Island's popular sites. Horseback riding and golf are a short distance away, Chelton Provincial Park is around the corner. A 15 minute drive takes you to the towns of Summerside, Borden or Kinkora.
Both bedrooms have large cedar-lined closets and ceiling fans. Enjoy the soaker tub in the bathroom.
This reservation has a Firm cancellation policy - refunds will be issued up to 60 days prior to the check in date.
A 100% refund is provided for travellers cancelling at least 60 days before check-in. A 50% refund is provided for travellers cancelling from 30 to 59 days before check-in. No refunds are provided for travellers cancelling less than 30 days prior to check-in. CanadaStays Booking Fees are refundable if you cancel within 48 hours of placing your booking request.
Our house rules: primary renter must be 25 or older, no smoking, no parties or events, pets permitted.
No smoking permitted in the house. If you smoke outside, please bring your own ashtray and do not drop cigarettes outside. It can be very dry in summer and we've had a close call when a cigarette lit the cedar shavings in the garden.
No tents or camping on the property.
Please clean up after your dog.

Great Stay

Great week.

Wonderful, private property on lovely red cliffs. Quiet road, so our dog could go off leash safely. Owner Wendy was very responsive to our questions and helpful. House was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed.

Fabulous beach house

We visited PEI August 10-16 We really enjoyed our stay the house was the perfect get away close enough to drive out to explore the beautiful Island. The private beach below was awesome we brought our dog and she really enjoyed the walks on the beach . The beautiful sunsets were the best I have ever seen.Wendy and Rob responded very quickly to our questions .They also were very well organized and the welcome sheet had many suggestions of what to do on the island which was very help full . We truly enjoyed every minute of our stay here a very special place

The location was perfect!

The master bed was super comfy and with the waves crashing provided the best sleep I had in a long time. Great water pressure in the shower, too; towels, etc. were provided. Walking the beach was a well-deserved treat and the cottage's location made it easy to get to all points of the island. Overall, this cottage made for a great holiday. Unfortunately, the screens in the screened-in porch were not fitted well and so mosquitos were able to get in and did. We feel that the cottage could have been prepped better; tea candles were empty, killed at least 10 spiders, old food found on kitchen cupboards, etc. We assumed (our fault) that the cottage came with a coffee maker (not a Keurig), so having brought our own coffee we also had to go out and buy a coffee machine. Thank goodness Summerside is just down the road.

The best PEI get away

We absolutely enjoyed every minute of our stay at this beach house. The view was amazing, the house was so clean and also was very nicely decorated throughout. There was nothing lacking at all. What a fabulous vacation!

Great place

We enjoy the fact that the location was very quiet and only 30 minutes to children activities. The dinning area was perfect (extension part-veranda). Again great place, with direct access to water.

Chelton Shore

We had everything we needed. The hosts were very helpful. It is a beautiful location and the beach house is gorgeous . We were able to walk our dogs along the shoreline everyday, almost always we had the shore to ourselves. It was very peaceful. The house, as well, was perfect for the dogs.

Perfect Island Location

The beach house is perfectly located near Summerside, the warm waters of Chelten Beach, the Confederation Trail for cycling, North Rustico for deep sea fishing and the bridge for quick island access. The property is huge and was enjoyed by our family dog as well.

Amazing stay

We absolutely loved this property. The home is equipped with everything you need to enjoy vacation. Everything was very clean when we arrived. The location is beautiful. We enjoyed the breeze in the enclosed throughout the day. We loved walking down to the beach during low tide and walking along the sand bars. The red cliffs glow at sunset. It was also beautiful to catch the sunrise over the potato fields. We loved riding our bikes up and down the dirt road. We also loved that there is a large, grassy lawn that leads to the water. It was such a perfect and relaxing vacation. The house is very well cared for and the hosts are super responsive and helpful. We highly recommend this rental.

Great home and great location!

We had a terrific experience at the PEI Beach House! From booking to check in to communicating during our stay, everything went so well. The house was perfect and just what we were looking for - a comfortable home where we could enjoy a week of holidays on the beach yet close to amenities. The information provided was both helpful and accurate and the home had everything we needed. It was a perfect spot for our family of 4. We loved the changing beach with the tides and the location on the island was ideal for us. A great week!

June Visit

We loved every minute of our trip! Beautiful property, home, and area. Two days of rain gave me the perfect excuse to read in the screened in porch gazing at the water. The property was in a great location making it easy to make lots of day trips. The hosts were awesome and responded to questions immediately. An amazing trip overall in an absolutely delightful house. Can’t wait to go back!

Fantastic property!!

We just got home from a wonderful stay here. All of our communication with Wendy was so easy and fast, she answered all of our questions quickly and was absolutely fantastic to deal with. This is a great central location - close to Summerside and the bridge, close to the north shore where we love to explore, just so convenient to everything. We enjoyed sunrises and sunsets, and although the weather didn't always cooperate, we still really enjoyed looking out of the beautiful large picture windows in the living room as we sat by the fireplace and drank coffee and loved the views and atmosphere. The screened in porch was a bonus, it had a nice little heater for the cooler nights. The chairs and firepit are perfectly situated, we didn't get to enjoy the fire due to winds, but did sit and enjoy the views over the cliffs and out to the sea. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed, and there are lots of awesome restaurants within a short driving distance. This cottage is so cozy and calm, beautifully decorated, and just a wonderful place to spend time. We would definitely come back again. Thanks so much for a wonderful holiday, we also very much appreciated your kindness extending our stay for a night while we were attending a wedding.

Great place

We really enjoyed our stay on PEI and this cottage was perfect place to start and finish our days. The screened sun porch was perfect place for all meals. Great amenities, host provided lots of info, felt at home and beautiful all around.

Review of beach getaway on PEI

This is a wonderful cottage surrounded by lots of acreage and privacy. It is clean and very well kept. There is a place where you can enclose your dog and allow the dog to enjoy the screened in sun porch without access to the rest of the house. The beach is lovely and uncrowded when the tide is out. There is no beach when the tide is in and that really is the only downside to this cottage. All in all, I highly recommend it.

great vacation!

Our family of 4 had a 2 week stay. The cottage was well big enough for us, very clean, and came with all the anemities that we needed for our stay. It's a two bedroom, upstairs/downstairs, with a pull out couch. Chelton Beach (2k)is an amazing beach, with a wonderful sandbar. The days we were there, there were no jellyfish, or seaweed. The jellyfish in Cavendish on our first day made swimming immpossible. We didn't see any jellies at Chelton, or in front of the cottage. YMMV of course!! The community of Bedeque is under 5 minutes drive from the cottage. It is very small, and very friendly. We made some friends with the people at the corner store, the owners of the breakfast Cafe, a couple of people at the church. I would go thte corner shop every day for at least "something", so it was convenient to have it close by. We attended a fully packed Ceilidh on a Tuesday night at the United church in town. It was good. We went to two others on the island, and by far and away the best was Mike Pendergast and Tom McSwiggan. Even the kids were loving the music, and the banter between songs. Get there early, and get a seat. Fantastic show. Travelling the entire Island on any given day and without a plan was fun. To drive 90 minutes to the North Cape, or east Point is not a big deal. The location of the cottage is very good considering the Bridge, and Summerside. Charlottetown is about 45 minutes. I did find myself going to the North side of the island pretty often, simply because of the stuff to do up there (mostly for the kids I guess). But it's not even a 30 minute drive. We ate a tonne of shellfish. Sharkey's in Summerside has a great reputation, but they close at 7PM(!)-even on Friday and Saturday nights, so we never made it there. The Deckhouse on the peir was pretty good, Skip's Fish 'n Chips had excellent fish and chips. Our best meals were in Charlottetown and then a few other random restaurants around the island. The Pearl in Rustico, New Glasgow lobster suppers was pretty good (mostly experience really), Sydney and Victoria St's in Charlottetown.. There is no need to eat out so much however, as the cottage itself is fully equiped kitchen and BBQ. Finally, a HUGE thanks to Diane for consistenly answering my many many many emails with patience and accuracy. Diane was a huge help from beginning to end, and although I've never met her, it would have not been the same experience without her guidance, reassurances and general expterise on the Island.

Spacious and Comfortable!

The Beach House had all amenities to make our week's stay both relaxing and comfortable. It is very quiet with splendid views of the sea. At low tide, you can walk all the way to the lighthouse on the far point. (It takes about 1 hour each way). Lots of opportunities to explore. Don't forget to try the ice cream at the corner store in Bedeque! We highly recommend the PEI Beach House on the Bay!

PEI beach house by the Bay = Perfect vacation

The house was immaculate and very inviting. It was a home away from home and we hated to leave. It had all the amenities you would need. The location is central and easy access to most everything is less than 30 minutes away. We spent a lot of time in Cavendish with the kids and it was very convenient. These things are very important to me. The back/front yard was a little paradise. We loved watching the tides and how the beach changes. The pictures are great but don't hold a candle to seeing it for yourself. We would totally rent here again:)

Tranqullity and beauty !!

We have spent a week of relaxation in majestic scenery. From Chelton, you are close to any place where tou would like to be for a visit. We had a chance to do cycling into the roads and lanes offering gorgeous sceneries. Our host were up to our expectation. It is really worth the trip. 5 Stars !!!

Best Vacation Ever!

We loved our stay at the Chelton, PEI, property. The house was more than adequate. Loved the bedrooms which were very tastefully appointed as shabby chic beach. We fell asleep listening to the waves and slept like logs. The temperature was almost unbearably hot while we were there. We closed the house up, lowered all the blinds, shut all the curtains, then in the evening there was always a cooling breeze. The house was very well stocked including the kitchen. Loved the laundry in the kitchen. I love to shop in thrift stores, so it was very easy to wash the clothes I purchased. My suggestions would be to install a bar in the shower to hang onto, take out the scatter rugs as they are very slippery, put unscented laundry detergent & fabric softener in the laundry area, & put 2 more colander in the kitchen.
