This is a nice little cottage in Dennis near Follins Pond. It has been tastefully remodeled, has updated appliances, but still retains it's old-world charm. The price was fair given it's location and amenities. Overall, my family of four enjoyed our stay, but we had a few bumps.
First off, I had to ask Kinlin Grover to remove part of their contract that implied that upon arrival, if our unit was no longer available and they couldn't find us comparable property - that we were not entitled to a refund. To their credit, after I questioned this - they amended my contract, but it was foreshadowing moment. Upon arrival in Dennis, we discovered that KG sent us to the wrong location to pick up our keys and we lost an hour or so correcting their mistake. Arriving at the unit, it wasn't exactly spotless - dishes with food stuck on them, dishes in the dishwasher stuck with food, the outdoor shower was in disrepair and the wifi wasn't working either - so we emailed KG first thing as they requested. KG (Betsy) was very kind and receptive and got someone over to fix the wifi, but it took about 2 days. The outdoor shower they advertised wasn't fixed for five days. These issues all kinda added up and took the sheen off the stay a bit so, at the end of the week, I reached out to KG looking for some understanding and compensation around advertised amenities that work not functional. Instead they pointed me to their contract which clearly stated that all of the advertised amenities could be broken and they don't legally have to reimburse me a dime.
This was my first time renting through VRBO where the real owner wasn't actually involved and I really felt it. Instead, of human being that takes pride in presenting the property as advertised, I rented a property that was not well cared for and then was forced to pay for it as if it was.
