Thank you for your feedback. I’m glad to hear that communication was smooth and that everyone found the beds comfortable. I do, however, want to clarify several points in your review so future guests have accurate information. The outdoor shower was fully operational last summer and was professionally winterized in the fall of 2025, as it is every year. This process drains the lines and removes the compnonents to prevent rust and winter damage. It had not “been unusable for a long time”, as stated in this review. During our annual Board of Health inspection, the inspector, who is a retired contractor, agreed to return and reassemble the components that were removed to prevenit, but was unable to do so before your arrival. We disclosed this to you in advance. We also accommodated your early check‑in request by six hours to offset this disappointment and permitted an additional hour at departure. Additionally, we offered a penalty‑free cancellation despite our strict policy, and communicated openly about other minor repair issues that arose due to back‑to‑back rentals but did not affect the habitability of the home. Transparency is important to us, and we made every reasonable effort to minimize any inconvenience. Regarding cleanliness, the home is deep cleaned annually and professionally cleaned after every checkout. I personally inspect the property before guests arrive and put on final touches with a welcome letter and snacks. Had any cleanliness concerns been raised during your stay, I would have addressed them immediately. We welcome constructive criticism and are always working to improve the guest experience. At the same time, it’s important to correct statements that are inaccurate, were never reported during the stay or are intentionally misleading. We remain committed to maintaining a clean, comfortable home and communicating honestly with all guests. Again, we are sorry the outdoor shower wasn't available during your stay. Hi Gina, Thanks for your detailed review. Hearing that the kitchen was overpacked with items is actually a first for us. We try to be as thoughtful as possible about what others may need during their stay and admittedly, there are a lot of kitchen gadgets! We typically hear positive comments about how we’ve thought of everything. While we do but have a separate, single standing toaster, there is a large toaster oven on the counter between the stove and sink. We, along with all the other guests over the past five years have used this without complaint. Additionally, tongs and a set of 3 stacking strainers are in the lower cabinet on the kitchen island. I am sorry you were unable to locate these items. I would have directed you to where they could be found, had you mention any if this during our many communications. Finally, we also have the paid receipt for the outdoor shower that was serviced on 6/23/25, well in advance of your stay. We have the plumber turn the shower on/off seasonally so it was definitely in good working order when you arrived. Again I could have helped with this if you had mentioned it during our communications. We are sorry Cape Coddage was not a total hit for your family. Hope you have a great rest of your summer. Jordyn and her family were lovely guests; they took great care of our home and had lovely things to say about their vacation and Cape Coddage. Our cleaners certainly appreciated that they stripped the beds, cleaned/emptied the dishwasher and made turnover process a lot easier.
