We had 7 people staying at the house for a week (and 2 more coming in and out). It was a perfect size for us just enough room so that everyone had some space, but still cozy. The house is funky and fun and was just a terrific atmosphere for our vacation. We cooked Thanksgiving dinner (the kitchen was perfect), had appetizers relaxing on the balconey, and ate big meals at the long table. The beds were delightfully comfortable and the house was centrally located to be able to get to just about anything we wanted within about 15 minutes. The only things I would say are that you might not like it (a) if you're an interior designer and are particular about having a "beautiful" place (we LOVED the decor, but it may not be everyone's cup of tea), (b) if you're a light sleeper (the bamboo scrapes on the gutter when there's wind, but it seemed only audible in the master) or (c) if you're older and might trip on uneven floors (if you're younger, you'll call it "character", but if you're having trouble with your balance, you'll call it hazardous. My mom is 78 and she was fine puttering around the downstairs, but in a few more years it'll be a problem for her.)
All that said though, we really did enjoy the place. Plenty of room, great location (easy access to running/walking/biking on Buffalo Bayou too), just different enough to be fun and really put you in the mood for a nice vacation. We'd go back in a heartbeat!
