Heaton Cottage

Heaton Cottage is located in the grounds of the historic Heaton Lodge. The house has been renovated and is a spacious and comfortable setting for families and groups to enjoy the Mudgee area. It is located in a quiet garden setting with access to the Cudgegong river.

We have a stunning private river frontage that is available to our guests. There is a fire pit to enjoy in the winter months.

An easy 10 minute walk to Mudgee central where you can explore a wide selection of cafes, pubs and interesting shops.

The main house has 3 bedrooms, a large living room and sunroom plus kitchen and 2 bathrooms. There is an additional 2 bedrooms across a small courtyard in an adjacent building with its own bathroom. A final bedroom - bedroom 6 is located on the other side of the courtyard.

All linen is provided - breakfast is included for the first night

Please note that at this property we cannot take pets.

Heaton Cottage ticked all the boxes. Was superbly clean and tidy, beautifully furnished, well appointed kitchen, stunning gardens to enjoy and not far to the main street of Mudgee. Fabulous communication with the lovely owners and would love to go back sometime.

This home is absolutely stunning. The sun drenched back room was awesome to enjoy our morning coffee. The kitchen offered everything we needed and more. the whole house was tastefully renovated without being modernised and losing its beautiful country charm. The gardens are beautiful and peaceful. The home is in a great area while being a nice walk into town. The bedroom to bathroom ration was amazing for a group of middle aged ladies. A place we just didn't want to leave.

A magical stay!

From the moment we drove up the tree lined driveway we felt we were miles from anywhere, yet only minutes from the town centre. The cottage was everything that was promised in words and pictures. Our family of five adults and three month old could not have had a more relaxing, wonderful time. Our host was generous, informative and very helpful. We are all looking forward to staying again at this magical place.

Amazing. Beds very comfy. Kitchen set up great and welcome breakfast etc appreciated. The varied choices of places to sit and chat was really lovely, sun room,on the river bank, outside the kitchen in the afternoon sun and ofcourse the gorgoues loungeroom around the fire.

Great Stay

Heaton Cottage is a great place for groups to stay. The cottage and adjacent rooms are perfect for groups of friends (or family) and the cottage itself is charming, well presented, comfortable and very private. We had 4 couples stay for 3 nights and had no issues at all.The cottage is within walking distance of town and has all the amenities you would hope for.We would recommend Heaton Cottage to anyone.

The perfect property in a perfect location

We were a group of 6 people staying in Mudgee for a birthday weekend. We could not have asked for a more perfect place to stay. The cottage is beautifully furnished and maintained, with incredibly comfortable beds, chairs sofas etc. It is perfectly located, being just over a 10 minute walk into town, but the property location is stunning, peaceful and tranquil. I wish we could have stayed longer, but will definitely be back!

Fabulous Girl’s weekend

We are nine ladies who have just spent a fabulous long Weekend in beautiful Heaton cottage. The location is perfect, we walked into town to go shopping. The gardens are spectacular and we sat down next to the river most afternoons and it was just beautiful. The beds are all really comfortable. And the house is gorgeous. I have stayed there before and hopefully will stay there again.

Mudgee town haven

The whole family came to Mudgee for a wedding and had a wonderful stay at Heaton cottage. Everything was perfect from the spacious sun lit living areas to the beautiful ample grounds, the chickens and the River on the boundary. Hosts Julie and John were very helpful. Highly recommended. Perfect cosy winter getaway

We are a group of friends who enjoy regular country getaways. Heaton Cottage was perfect for our group with most being able to have their own rooms. There were so many lovely inclusions including farm fresh eggs and a fully prepared open fire which we used a lot. The house has lovely grounds and is located a short walk from town. Julie was delightful to deal with and the house is very well appointed with comfortable beds. We would highly recommend a stay at Heaton Cottageincluding
