The house
The house is beautiful with amazing views - however the kitchen felt very sparse in terms of crockery and cooking equipment. There were very few glasses and we had to keep washing them to re use. It could be argued that 6 was enough, but they were small and not enough to meet our needs. The living room should seat 6 , but doesn’t - 3 of us squashed onto a couch and the other on a chair. As there were just 4 of us, we managed, but there would be nowhere for another 2 to sit. The TV is very small for the size of the room and we missed the internet.
Ireland is very modern now and that’s what we would have liked- if I wanted a cottage with mismatched crockery etc, I would have booked that kind of accommodation. So much potential to make this house more comfortable for guests as the house is beautiful and spacious. We enjoyed the visit as we visited family and it’s in an ideal location between Louisbourgh and Westport. Just 5 mins from Old Head and the Reek.
