Private Paradise steps to Centro

We are Donna and Tim from Gabriola Island, B.C. who make this Paradise retreat our home during the dreary days of Winter on the coast. We couldn't imagine being anywhere else! The music scene, lovely warm weather...AND especially the people have seduced us and we encourage everyone to have a taste of what THIS good life has to offer. And why not?? On my first trip here, in 2009, I had an epiphany as I watched the sailors come ashore with this "cheshire grin"...like they knew something I didn't....and suddenly realized WE create our own lives and can make of it what we dream of. I met and married MY sailor soon after and we sailed from Gabriola to Zihuatanejo in 2016. We bought Casa Roja and share it with guests, in their private suites, who appreciate the endless beauty and fun, here as well.
We volunteer for Zihuatanejo Sailfest to raise money for the kids here and for Zihuatanejo Guitarfest and are active in the community doing whatever we can to support the locals as they support US with their love and community spirit.

Welcome to Casa Roja. Our decor is bright and happy.."muchos colores" with many unique touches that will delight your senses and make you smile. along with a view, and WHAT a view! Never boring with fishing boats going to and fro, music and fun! A 5 minute walk to Centro with unlimited dining and entertainment options. Beaches close by and walking distance to or head to the pier where you can grab a panga to get to Playa Las Gatas.. Enjoy the sunrise from the deck with your favourite cuppa, and then luxuriate in the coolness as the sun sets behind us and watch the moon as she arrives.
We are on the Porto Mio side of Zihuatanejo across the canal, five minutes walking to Centro. It is a very authentic part of town, families live here and only a few hotels and motels. It has a decidedly non touristy feel..a neighbourhood....which we love and think YOU will, too!
