If you are a nature lover and like simple accommodations, then this National Seashore treasured location may be just what you are looking for! It is a secluded, rustic cottage in the woods amidst the ponds of the Cape Cod National Seashore. Enjoy the solitude of this pristine nature haven with beach access to swimming and canoeing in kettle ponds. From the front yard, use the provided canoe to paddle through kettle ponds along the same route the Audubon has toured. It is also in close proximity to the ocean and Newcomb Hollow beach.

The cottage is full of Old Cape charm (the décor is dated), and offers a taste of historical Cape Cod. It comprises two small bedrooms - one with a full-size bed and the other with two twin beds - and a full bath. The porch, adjacent to the small living room, offers beautiful views of nature. The kitchen (not an eat in kitchen) includes a refrigerator, sink, stove (stovetop burners only, no oven) with a microwave, and large toaster oven located on the porch. There is a gas grill to use while relishing the private yard. Relax in the lounge chairs or hammock, feast at the picnic table, or unwind in the outdoor shower.

Dirt road access only. No WiFi. 3 night minimums available with an added cleaning fee. 7 nights or more include the cleaning. Book Now!

Unlike the suburban cookie cutters that have popped up along the Cape, it has the authentic character of a classic Cape cottage. We loved the antiques and the beautiful paintings of local lighthouses on the walls.The location is unbelievable—the private dock on the pond was the perfect reading spot, and the ocean is only a ten-minute walk away. We usually had the beach to ourselves, as it's a few miles from the crowded public areas down the road.The cottage is nestled in the forest preserve with only a few neighbors, making it a serene retreat with spectacular birdwatching and stargazing opportunities.On rainy days, we enjoyed browsing the shelf of books on local Wellfleet history, as well as playing board games and cards on the glassed-in porch. It's almost impossible to find places like this left on the Cape, and we are so excited to make it an annual tradition!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is rustic for sure. The space was comfortable and the screened back porch nice for meals. The location was great, so near the ponds and especially the beach. The trees blocked any good views. But the house was dusty and needed a good scrubbing Windows are foggy, needed to wash the glasses before we could use them. And the wiring used multiple extension cords and it was hard to find outlets. The toaster and the toaster oven on the back porch did not work, and one light was blown on a bedroom lamp.

Very isolated did not expect a mile long sand road for two way traffic or long isolated driveway. Directions difficult to find place. So many mosquitoes we had to run from car to cottage.
