Convenient cottage

We had a long, peaceful stay at this little cottage and it was perfect for commuting to Prince Frederick and accessing North Beach and Annapolis. The house was clean and communication with the property contact person was easy and pleasant. While there were a few items that needed updating, I would definitely stay here again.

Small but convenient

The location was perfect; you can walk to the beach, stores, restaurants! Chesapeake Beach looks like a scene from Gilmore Girls! 15 minutes from a larger town with more options. 40 minute scenic drive to Annapolis or D. C. The house is small but perfect for 2 people! Be aware that the master bed is a standard size, but the second bedroom has a daybed and pull out bed! The back yard has some insecure spots if you bring a pet, but we used sections of our pet pen to cover those. And no dishwasher, so be prepared to wash dishes lol! We really enjoyed our stay…it’s very homey feeling!

Cute cottage, uncomfortable clutter

This is clearly a beloved little cottage, and the owners take pride in ownership. However, we did not have a comfortable stay for several reasons. - Evolve vacation rentals charged us a $106 additional cleaning fee that was not disclosed at the time of booking through VRBO. We paid it because of Covid, but it should be refunded. -The cottage was clean, but we spent the first 2 hours cleaning out the fridge full of other people's food - some of it rotting – and the shelves of the pantry area so we could make space for our snacks. Between the fridge and the pantry, we filled one and a half bags of trash and expired food. - There was an excessive amount of decor and things throughout which made us very uncomfortable. Every shelf, every drawer, every flat surface was filled with items. It was hard to find what we needed as there were multiple sets of some items and missing others (IE 20+ coffee mugs, only 8 forks for a cottage listed for 6 people). - The contact was kind, helpful, and responsive, but not the owner, so she had to relay questions to the owner. I said there was a lot of stuff so it was hard to find things and they said it was because of Covid so that renters didn't have to leave the cottage. This was a nice thought, but it meant that we had no room for our things. - My fiance, his parents and I rented this cottage for a week. The cottage is less than 700 square feet which is perfectly fine, with 2 tiny bedrooms. The first room with the trundle bed had a small closet, which had a lot of the owner's things in it - several children's toys, etc, leaving about 4 square feet for suitcases. The only nightstand's drawers were full of children's books and toys and packed with knickknacks. The entire house had about 12 hangers, so even if we did utilize the small closet and the wardrobe in the other bedroom, that gave us 3 each. - The master had just a wardrobe with one drawer and a space to hang clothes – but again not enough hangers. The bed was listed as a queen but was a full. The door is warped and does not close. - Every shelf in the bathroom and both medicine cabinets were full so we had to move baskets around to make room. - I would not recommend unless the owner removed at least 50% of their items. The home is claustrophobic in its current state but could be great with changes. -Not their fault, but the laundry detergent for guests caused me to have an allergic reaction and we had to leave a day early so I could go to a doctor.

Wonderful Bayside Cottage

The cottage was charming and extremely well appointed. It really had everything we could have asked for on a weekend getaway. The property is extremely well taken-care-of, with plenty of modern amenities (flat screen Roku TVs, Ninja coffee maker, etc) while maintaining plenty of quaint beachy charm. The beaches were, sadly, closed due to the pandemic, but we still found plenty to do. There are lots of delicious restaurants a short distance away. We will definitely be back when things return to normal, and hopefully we'll be able to stay at this fantastic cottage again.

Wonderful Cottage!

My wife and I stayed at this property for a few days and loved it! The owner was very responsive and was very accommodating. I could really feel the pride in ownership of this cottage that the owner has. There was a very informative welcome booklet with easy to follow instructions for the home and with information about the area. The cottage is centrally located between North Beach and Chesapeake Beach, so it was the best of both words. We can't wait to go back!
