Authentic log chalet serene and secluded with outdoor spa

Manuka Lodge is the best hidden treasure ever! Tucked away in a dead end road surrounded by native bush this characteristic log chalet offers superb privacy. It has an outdoor spa and 2 large sunny decks with rustic furniture. Manuka Lodge is often used for wedding nights for it’s romantic and secluded location.

Manuka lodge is a pearl of a log cabin… with all the luxuries supplied from outdoor spa to dishwasher and a fantastic DVD selection to relax by on a rainy day. The living area is not big but cozy with a logfire and built-in fireguard. The chalet has a well equipped kitchen with oven, microwave, stove, big fridge/freezer etc. The downstairs bathroom has a shower, toilet and basin. Upstairs is the master bedroom with a comfortable queensize bed and an extra ‘gaming’TV.

A second small bedroom offers a double bed. On the open mezzanine are a double, a single and a trundler. Manuka lodge can handle 6 adults max – just let us know if you want to bring children (max 3). The mezzanine opens up to a balcony, a great place to have your morning coffee.

The outdoor deck area is absolutely superb with, besides the spa, a rustic macracarpa table and bench and on the far deck another modern diningtable. 2 comfortable cape cod chairs can make you dream away… Plenty of space for sunbathing, just surrounded by private bush. Note that the spa is a bonus but not a given (due to unforseen circumstances it is not always operational). A track takes you down to Lulu’s creek – great for a little play on a hot day.

The fireguard and stairgates make this chalet very childfriendly.

Your group will have exclusive use of the lodge during your stay.
Note that bedlinens are not standard included but can be arranged on request. No cell phone coverage or wifi: that is why you want to be here !

Lovely chalet at Lyford

We and our friends greatly enjoyed staying in this comfortable, well-equipped chalet with lovely alpine bush views in an area we had never been to before. Beds were comfortable and the woodburner kept us warm. Enjoyed birds serenading us by day and star-watching while soaking in spa at night. Loved exploring the alpine environment.

Just glorious!!

Manuka Lodge was absolutely divine! Perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle. Listening to the pīwhakawhaka and korimako in the morning with coffee was magical and serene. One of the best getaways I've had, thank you!!!!

Excellent getaway

Had the most relaxing weekend away here, thoroughly enjoyed being tucked away listening to the bird sounds. The property was very well equipped we particularly enjoyed the collection of CDs and DVDs. The Spa Pool was fantastic. Would definitely come back :)

A weekend get away

A stunning relaxing place. Beautiful scenery from the house with thick native bush all around you. The house was lovely and clean and had absolutely everything you would need on a holiday. Enjoyed the spa while star gazing and watching some 3D movies on the TV with the fire place going.

An absolute MUST stay

We had the most wonderful time at Manuka Lodge. It was relaxing, comfortable and so well equipped-we could have happily stayed for longer and enjoyed the continuous birdsong in the morning and luxurious spa afternoons. The hosts were so accommodating, and communication was a breeze. We chatted to a couple of the onsite people who were lovely and very helpful. We had everything we needed and more. The beds were comfortable, and the space was a dream. Coffees on the upstairs balcony and up on the forest chairs were heaven. We will be back and have told every back home about this little slice of paradise! Big thanks to the hosts.

Property was in a fantastic location

It would have been nice to turn up to find some milk in the fridge. There was a darts board with no darts. The cottage was cute and warm. We were disapointed that there was a digger working all day Saturday. And we could not go on the alpine walks as the tracks were closed.

Home from home

Every thing your need in a home . Large enough full kitchen just bring your food. entertainment lots of D.V.D.s movies games, basic tv, books games etc lounge only big enough for two/three, has seating for five. Large main bedroom with toilet one other double and the rest in a dormitory style room .to sleep seven . We Loved it . Great inside outside flow to the good sized spar .. Very nice log style cabin .would go again . masses of Kanuka flowering trees in December in two acers of native bush .

Get away from it all!

Exactly what we needed

The property is very secluded. Loved the fire place and hot tub outside. Was great with all the birds and bush around us. Would definitely go again. Could not find the walk that was talked about to the river. Everything you could need or wanted was catered for. Great property . Cant wait to book our next visit.

Excellent in all ways

Really nice experience if you want to get away from it all for a while. The cabin is so well equiped and has lots of thoughtfulness for visitors: Games, dvds a hot tub and great stocked kitchen. Claudine was lovely and had everything sorted for our stay.. A super find.

Peaceful and Relaxing

Wonderful place to relax and unwind; the home has everything that you need, the spa was great and the beds are comfortable! Awesome place to stay and if I am looking for a place to escape again, this is at the top of the list! Highly recommended and the only thing I would change would be to bring a 4WD vehicle.

Very enjoyable trip

We have just had a very relaxing couple of days there. The lodge literally contained everything you would ever need. We brought quite a few 'just in case' things with us, but didn't need any of it. The kitchen was very well equipped. . The lodge is small and cozy and we really enjoyed the outdoor spa. Would love to visit again.
