Classic Kiwi Bach – Sun, Space & Easy Beach Living

This much-loved Kiwi bach has a charm all of its own and is the perfect spot for a laid-back family getaway. The large north-facing upstairs balcony soaks up all-day sun, making it an ideal place for morning coffee, long lunches, or evening drinks.
Downstairs, a rumpus room gives kids and teenagers their own space to hang out. Bean bags and hammocks are on hand for relaxing in the sunshine or curling up with a good book.
Outside, the large front lawn is a real bonus – perfect for backyard cricket, lawn games, or a friendly sunset game of pétanque.
Stay as connected (or disconnected) as you like with Wi-Fi, Sky TV, plus an internet-enabled TV so you can cast your favourite movies.
Location couldn’t be easier:
A short stroll to the estuary and children’s playground by the campground
Approx 15 minutes’ walk to the surf beach, avoiding summer parking hassles

Planning a cooler-weather escape? There’s a fireplace to keep things cosy for a sneaky winter getaway.

Please note:
* Linen is not provided. Guests will need to bring their own sheets, pillowcases, towels, and tea towels.
* This is a typical old school bach with some areas renovated. If aesthetics are important to you, then our house is probably not right for you!
* Relaxed, sunny, and family-friendly – this bach is all about simple pleasures and easy holiday living.

Perfect house for what we needed, great location.

Managed to find this house in short notice, wicked location, beds were clean and comfortable. Would happily stay again.

Close to beach and lovely vibe

A lovely property overall. Heaps of ants and cockroaches everywhere sadly. But we would definitely stay again. Close to beach and had everything we needed.

Great overall stay

We enjoyed staying at this property, good old 'Kiwi Bach' which is in a good location to the beach/estuary. The place was clean and we had good communication with the owners. There is a couple of updates they need to make to make the place more comfortable ie BBQ and stove, but other than that, we really enjoyed our time :)

Great location.

The property was an older style bach type house. Worked well for us with plenty of beds and good amount of room. Bathroom a bit tired but everything worked. Would stay again.

Great family stay

Property was in a nice central location, an excellent choice for families with teenagers with the bedroom n rumpus downstairs. With it's late 70's batch vibe, was perfect for us, not the ritz so not forever worried the kids don't touch something they're not supposed to. Dallas was absolutely accommodating to our special request and communication with him was excellent, thankyou again Dallas. Will be back for sure.

Cons: My wife had to wipe black mould off the bedroom curtains and walls. The stove top elements don't heat up. Cockroach infested, had to buy spray from the shop to stop some of them going into our food at night. Pros: Beds were comfortable. Good location.

Classic bach at Mangawhai Heads

The old bach was much as the owner had described- roomy, comfortable enough, given its age and condition, safe with a fenced, gated lawn in front. We would advise cleaner pays more attention to details, like replacing used up soaps, filling liquid soaps and kitchen detergent and cleaning dead insects from all window sills. Little things but they make a difference. Road noise was considerable at times, but the location for an easy walk to the beautiful estuary and little beaches around it was great and it is a 3 minute drive to surf beach or shops. Beds were all very comfortable. Thanks for our classic bach weekend Dallas.😊

Better than expected.

Had booked this last minute! And it exceeded all my expectations. The house is so big and roomy and felt really comfortable! So close to the beach and restaurants. Dallas was so nice and was easy to get a hold of. The home is equipped with everything! Beds were so comfy! Most of my family are over 6 foot so we struggled with the shower a little bit. Everything else was amazing! We had the best time. We will definitely book again!

We had a lovely weekend away at this bach. It was a great size, so much space for a family or group! Very clean and the host gave lots of info/communication. Highly recommend!

Good location

Had plenty of friendly info from owners. The property was very nice on a whole and just what we were expecting. Could have been a little tidier, lots of dusty areas and spiders around but I overall, was clean and comfy. Would recommend to a family or large group.

Fantastic, relaxing break

We had such a great time during our stay and we certainly hope to do it again. Accommodation: The accommodation was just what we were looking for, clean, cozy, comfortable and so convenient being a quick walk to the estuary and easy drive to the surf beach. Area: The area is awesome with options in the estuary for quiet play, or fun in the waves at the surf beach. It really does cater for families of all ages. I certainly would recommend both the accommodation and the area for a wonderful family break
