The Axtell complex location does not get any better being situated right at the base of Silver Queen lift on Mount Crested Butte. Enjoy additional property amenities like complimentary wifi and an outdoor communal hot tub to observe the base area activity. Strict parking for 1 on-site. There are other pay parking options available, or free parking in the town of Crested Butte.

This 1 bedroom, 1 full bath condominium is very convenient to the base area, skiing, and riding. The entrance is located on the third floor from the parking area, but on the second floor from the slopes. Entering into the condo you’ll find a new cozy living room with an elevated table providing dining for 4. Turn on the gas fireplace for a great ambiance. An adorable, compact, and fully stocked kitchen is all ready for you to prepare your meals in-house. The full bathroom is accessed off the kitchen and hallway that leads to the master bedroom. Plenty of sleeping options for you and your family with a queen bed and twin bunk, with optional access to the sleeper sofa in the living room. There is free basic wireless internet provided. Not always the best for streaming, but great for browsing the web and checking email. Strict parking for 1 on-site. There are other pay parking options available, or free parking in the town of Crested Butte.

The FREE Mountain Express Shuttle runs year-round for transportation to and from the Town of Crested Butte and surrounding areas. Axtel is within close walking distance of the main transit center. Summer schedule runs every 20 minutes; winter schedule runs every 15 minutes; shoulder seasons every 40 minutes.

Crested Butte Lodging & Property Management provides the basic comforts of home. Upon your arrival, you’ll find that we supply all linens, towels, and paper goods. This includes paper towels, toilet paper, starter shower kits, coffee packets with powder creamer and sugar, kitchen towels, dish sponges, dish soap, and dish detergent. If you would like to arrange housekeeping services during your stay, please contact our office to schedule for a modest fee.

Lovely place. Nice location. Parking was poorly designed but once we figured it out it was no real problem. The kitchen and bathroom were clean and had what was needed for a 2 day stay to visit the area. The town shuttle stops right off the property which was nice. The few issues we had...The bedroom was cramped with the child size bunkbeds and the queen bed a dresser and two nightstands. I have to add that the queen memoryfoam mattress was pretty rough to sleep on unless you dont reposition yourself when you sleep. I kept thinking that a matress topper would help but I'm not even sure that would help. But that being my only issue with the place I'd say 4 out of 5 stars with the 1 deduction being my preference for a softer mattress.

Nice Ski Condo

Location is wonderful for skiing. The steps are not ideal for carrying your stuff in/out with tired legs, but location is worth it. I wish there was a bit more sound proofing because we could hear footsteps above us and vehicles in the parking lot. Kitchen had everything we needed. Everything was clean. The bedroom has enough space to fit a pack n play. We would stay here again.

Family Ski Trip

Family of 5 staying 5 nights—parents 37, kids 16, 6, 8. Location is close enough that I didn’t have to lug my kids skis and gear around, they could handle independently! So close to Red Lady and Silver Lifts. Just right out the door. The Peach lift for kids is down the hill a bit but you can ski to it because it’s downhill. Everything walking distance. Plenty of racks for skis outside the apartments. Good balcony to store gear. Lots of talk about the stairs on other reviews. This would be hard for small child or toddler or elder, etc., but for us was just fine. Everything was clean and tidy. It’s kind of builders grade, but beds were CLEAN FEELING and comfortable. We ate breakfast and some lunches in the apartment and had plenty of plates, bowels, paper towels, etc.Parking is tight, but seemed to work out. Try not to leave at 9 or 4 when there is lots of coming and going. There’s a car tag for windshield that you get when you arrive overall excellent place to stay. Definitely recommend.

Great Location terrible beds

So nice to walk out to the lift, so easy. The queen bed is worse than sleeping in the ground. 10in of memory foam makes it so you can move once you lay down. Only 4 forks so we had to eat in shifts. This is a location location stay only. My car was hit and run in the parking lot so watch out for your car. No cameras in property for parking lot protection.

Great views and location!

The view of the mountains from the porch is stunning. Mother nature, with her ever changing weather, has a way of changing the scenery without changing your location. The unit was just a short walk to the bus that takes you down into Crested Butte. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely stay here again when we come back.

Great Holiday weekend !

Can’t beat the location! Room was exactly as advertised and only steps away from the lift. We were also able to grab dinner at the two restaurants in the adjacent buildings. Checkin was so easy and I he communication was excellent.

Fantastic location but some drawbacks

You are literally steps away from the Silver Queen Express lift. Hot tub was not working for entire 3 night stay; they refunded us some $ as that's an important feature to us so they addressed our complaint. That being said, hot tub was meh. No elevator. No private locker; it's community storage which was very confusing and frustrating upon our arrival. (There are lockers, but they're not associated w/ the building) We like elevators, covered parking, private locker; this place doesn't offer those. It's location, location, location. Also, CB does not have much going on in base area w/ restaurants vs other resorts. It's all downtown (that's on the resort, not the property).

We had kids in ski school and it was super convenient to their meeting place and the other lifts. The unit was very clean and comfortable. My only complaint is the false advertising. " Turn on the gas fireplace for a great ambiance. An adorable, compact, and fully stocked kitchen is all ready for you to prepare your meals in-house." The "fireplace" is an electric heater with a light for a flame. And the kitchen was hardly stocked. There were hardly enough dishes and flatware to make it through 2 meals. There were only 4 forks. The kitchen needs to be updated with better pans, more than 1 spatula, and more plates and flatware. We ended up buying paper plates and plastic utensils so I didn't have to keep washing dishes. Also more knives (like steak knives) and a pair of scissors would be nice. Also, it would be nice to have plastic containers to store leftovers... I ended up buying gallon bags to store food in. We also ran out of toilet paper and paper towels in 3 days. Seems like the bathroom/kitchen could be better stocked so someone isn't having to run to the store all the time during vacation.

Great location

Stayed here with a group of 4 adult men on a guys ski trip. Location is wonderful. Space worked for us but would be tight for any more. We heard a lot of noise through the night from the loading dock at the hotel next door. I never received an email with check in information so that was a very cumbersome process of having to ask ski patrol (their office is in the first floor) who we needed to talk to!

We took advantage of going back to eat lunch and take breaks. The unit is on the third floor but only one flight of stairs to get to the slopes. The unit was very clean and stocked with the necessities (pots/pans, dishes, silverware, utensils, paper towels, toilet paper, towels, linens, and plenty of pillows). The staff at Crested Butte lodging easy to work with. Highly recommend Axtell #309 and Crested Butte Lodging!

Noisy in Summer

Unfortunately I would not recommend staying here in the summer. The unit faces the parking lot and Elevation Hotel and Spa's extremely loud air conditioning / generator unit. The sound is so loud it reverberates inside the unit. Sitting on the patio is drowned out by the loud noise which is even worse inside. Couldn't open the windows at night to cool things down and make things even more noisy - wasn't able to sleep at all. Left after one night. Luckily the property management company was willing to refund us the rest of the stay. This noise issue wasn't mentioned in any other comments, so we were shocked by the constant loud noise upon arrival. Sounds like a constant dull garbage disposal is on 24/7 / grinding of gears while inside. Not the peaceful mountain getaway we were hoping for.

Being located directly in front of the lifts and only a few hundred feet from the ski rentals it made renting and returning our equipment very easy. Crested Butte is a great ski mountain with a small town feel.

Location

The only reason to stay here is location. This is NOT for a family. There’s no room for your things. There’s a closet but it’s blocked by the bed & is full of other stuff. The kitchen is as scarcely sourced as I have ever seen. We couldn’t even take the trash out because the bags ripped every time. Everything done as cheap as possible. We’ll choose somewhere else next time.

Location could not be beat!

The property was clean, with what appeared to be a newly updated kitchen, although the building is a little dated generally. There is no elevator. The bedroom was a little cramped with two sets of beds in it, but it worked well enough for us. The best part of the place was the location. Literally steps away from the lifts, ski rentals and the mountain base. We will definitely stay here agin.

There was a broken lamp, but other than that, it was very nice. I'd suggest bringing a cheese grater and knife sharpener with you, if you plan on cooking and want a sharp knife or want to grate your own cheese.I would definitely stay here again!Also, the hot tub is for 4 pp, and you're on your own to uncover it and turn on the jets, but I never saw anyone else use it during my stay.Highly recommended!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Pros - located right next to two ski lifts. Big balcony. Cons- limited parking, outside parking, building is old, no elevator you have to lug all your gear and suitcases up the stairs, when it snows they plow the parking lot at 3-4 am and it is loud, condo was not spacious and the bathroom was tiny, was not well stocked like advertised, there is no laundry room located in the building you have to go two buildings over for a laundry room. Cleanliness was another issue just not on par with other places for a lot less money. Not the best experience we’ve had at a ski resort and would not stay there again.
