Stone Cottage - Close to beach and estuary

Welcome to the Stone Heritage Cottage, one of Mandurah’s oldest cottages, built in 1905. Centrally located at the Estuary end of Ormsby Terrace, the Cottage is within walking distance of the estuary and the beach, city centre, restaurants and bars, the famous Peninsula Hotel, the Arts Centre and Cinema's. The Cottage offers guests a large shaded block with mature Sheoak trees and a lush green lawn. The property is fenced off so a safe location for guests with young children and pets.

Recently renovated family cottage, freshly painted, modern kitchen and bathroom, original polished jarrah floor boards, 3 bedrooms, one bathroom/toilet and laundry with washing machine. Reverse cycle air conditioner in main living area so cool in summer and warm in winter. Gas BBQ on veranda. We supply all bedding, sheets and doonas and a bath towel for each guest. Its a very private cottage and you will have the place all to yourself.

The cottage is situated in the best location Mandurah has to offer. Just a short walking distance to the many attractions, no need to drive anywhere. A short stroll to the Mandurah Estuary, cafes, cinema and Performing Arts Theatre (across the road) and Mandurah’s main shopping strip. A short distance, just behind the cottage is Dolphin Quay with many restaurants, cafes, bars and Mandurah’s beautiful beaches. Just across the road is the Mandurah Boat & Bike Hire, where you can take the boat up the Estuary and have a day of fishing and crabbing or hire some bikes and ride around the estuary to see the many attractions.

2nd time staying so knew what to expect. Great yard for the dogs to run. Right across from the cinema, art center and eateries. Very well stocked eg hand soaps, detergent, mossie sprays, pantry cooking stuff etc. Nesprsso machine and a new Smart Tv…Aircon wall unit to the living area and a fan in the kids room. Might need another fan in the main bedroom as it can get hot in the summer. A little weathered and old quaint interior but we enjoyed sitting out on the deck watching the world go by and exploring. Also that’s reflected in the pricing of this stay. Did see a cockroach and hence 4 stars…but I guess that comes with the older housesDefinitely will be back again next summer if it’s still available. Our dogs loved the yard again this year.

Every thing about the place stood out. My family had a great time feelings like they were experiencing the 1900's. Very well maintained. Loved the details of having food basics in the pantry and fridge. I was very impressed with the varieties of pantry items, also the paracetamol.. It honestly felt like i was visit an old home.

The house was in a perfect location. Central to everything. Plenty of places to eat and visit within walking distance. Really cute cottage. Had all appliances and everything you needed.Anna, the only thing that I think could be improved is the mattresses on the beds. The host was very quick with his responses and very helpful. They were a bit hard and a little uncomfortable.

This property is a real gem ! Amazing location. The property and garden felt like we were somewhere rural yet Straight across the cross road are the shops, foreshore, restaurants. Or turn left out of the gate to Dolphin Quay areas, with its kids beach, shops multitude of restaurants.The property is clean, has everything we needed in the kitchen, the place is so cosy . Our dogs absolutely loved it here , sitting out in the large , safe garden. Highly recommend.

The location of this property is fantastic! In walking distance to the foreshore, beach and a varety of restaurants.The property was very clean but it is aged and very cosy. The dining table only seats four people and is in the middle of the kitchen. Once everyine is sitting at the table you can not move around the kitchen or from the kitchen into any other room.In my opinion whilst you can sleep 7 people easily here, the dining and living areas do not accomodate that many.The host was wonderful and check in was a breeze.

Quaint heritage cottage in a great location. Close to coffee shops, cinema, restaurants, estuary and boat marina. Clean and tidy, had everything you need. A fireplace for those cold winter days and nights. I didn't need to bring my own linen or bath towels which was great! My only suggestion would be to have a better lock on the front door from the inside, otherwise it was an enjoyable break.

doggy holiday

the house and yard were a perfect location for our needs. the yard was perfect for my dog. i was very comfortable. i would love to have booked again but the dates i needed were already booked out.the only issue was that i wasnt aware that sprinklers come on at night, kept me awake and the inside of my car got wet as i couldnt get thru the sprinklers to check the car

Lovely old cottage showing signs of age but well cared for. Quiet area, 3 minute walk to pub, cicerellos movies and the estuary. Huge shady yard. Will stay again.

Disappointing and poor value for money

Overall, this property was disappointing given the 9.6 rating by others and the cost of it. While most things worked, the main bed was comfortable (though we required the sheets to be changed upon arrival as they looked gross - this was addressed immediately by the owner), the kitchen was well-appointed and the shower worked well. However, the main bedroom is not photographed for good reasons (an enclosed verandah/annex with very low, flat ceiling and nowhere to hang clothes, for that matter anywhere in the house!), the overall cleanliness was substandard in our view (e.g. pantry, fridge, coffee table, cobwebs/mould in the bathroom), free to air TV reception was frustrating due to frequent dropouts. While we expected the cottage to be old, for 220 per night we expected it to be far better in condition. The lack of electrical ventilation in the bathroom and toilet (which are also eclosed annexes with flat ceilings) is a contributing factor, and the flywire in situ was clogged with dust which would not help air circulation. In our view, it is in need of either a very, very deep clean or a complete makeover to command such a price.

Cute cottage with great outdoor area.

Enjoyed our stay, the location was perfect, the cottage was sweet and had all you need for a fab stay. The outside area was great our little dog loved it.

Convenient simple location

Great location and everywhere was walkable. Our dogs loved the huge yard. Basic inside but kitchen was well stocked. Great to have the aircon in the living area as it was 36 degC when we were there. TV went fuzzy every now and then but that’s a minor issue. Cant wait to rebook

Great few days

Lovely clean comfortable stay. Huge fenced yard which was wonderful for our dog. Great cafes and bars nearby. Central location for everything. We will definitely be back.
