Not like the photos place is much smaller. not a place for families unsafe for small children and small dogs. I also had to clean for my family when I got there . Will be contacting vrbo about a refund for the cleaning fee.

NEW YEARS EVE

The cabin is nice and small but it HAS NOTHING! i have stayed at many cabins and the expectation is that there are serving utensils, tea Kettle, a decent bbq Grill. No plunger, no mop. YOU HAVE TO TAKE EVERYTHING! everything you see in the cabin is things people probably left there

Bug and dirt

They need to fire their cleaning service. Plus spiders, ants they need to get a bug service. The sheets were not cleaned in one bedroom and scary to make anything to eat in the kitchen. Plus the decks outside were dirty as hell. You couldn’t go outside to enjoy the view . The windows and sliding doors had no screens to leave open to enjoy the weather without more bugs. Also they need fixed trying to closing them back after opening them was a chore. The center island has titles that need to be fixed kept falling out 2. For the price we paid a night was not nowhere worth it. A 2 star rating not 4 star. Thanks for a crappy weekend

I've stayed in Lake Arrowhead more than a handful of times and have always had an amazing time while booking based on the reviews . This time, I went with a property that had not been reviewed because of its newness to the VRBO family. I will tell you that I would not stay there again. There was trash overflowing in the trashcans and trash strewn on the deck upon arrival, as well as empty beer bottles laying on the ground above the deck. The pans that I was to use for cooking were rusted and gross, the plumbing under the sink was leaking creating puddles of water on the kitchen floor. The management company was very apologetic but was having issues contacting a plumber for me. The mattress on the bed downstairs was rock hard. The whole experience was disappointing and the cost to stay there made my experience even more unpleasant. Evolve - who contracts with the owner to rent this place - did what they could to refund me the cleaning fee and a little extra for my inconvenience, but I would caution the next renters to be extra careful with this rental.

Misleading Listing - Uncleaned and Dangerous Unit

The unit was not maintained or cleaned. The cleaning person never showed up - so we had to clean it. The provided space heater on the first floor was defective and was a death trap. The downstairs shower has no handle. The snow in the parking spot was not completely shoveled and cleaned. The stairs to the unit were unsafe with one step broken and loose. The dishwasher was flooded with filthy water pooling inside. Various other smaller issues. Vrbo was absolutely no help - hard to reach them with support in a different country. The owner had no plan B for the cleaning person not showing up and knew about most of the pending issues. Evolve (the management company) was more responsive at first but dropped the ball. They gave us a refund for a few hundred dollars which added up to the cleaning fee plus - but I am not interested in taking my family on vacation to clean toilets and rooms, beddings and towels, and face defective and dangerous conditions. This is the last time I will use either of these two companies and do not recommend this unit to anyone.

Disappointing.

There was just enough room to park two compact cars or one full size sedan. We tried parking a prius and a tacoma but almost immediately were asked to park elsewhere. The cabin was difficult to access with uneven and broken stairs. The path is extremely steep and had a loose handrail. You can barely see the lake between the trees when standing in a single spot on the upper balcony. This is a private lake and is inaccessible to visitors. The neighbors visited daily to ask us for food, drinks, and even to go to the store for them. The dishwasher did not work. We ran it twice but the detergent did not dispense. There was mouse or rat droppings in every room. Be careful with food storage as there are ants in the kitchen.

Great Location and Views

We stayed for the Thanksgiving holiday and had a good time. The house is close to town and shopping but still feels secluded. Like most houses in Arrowhead, the house has lots of stairs so be mindful if that is an issue.

No AC or Toilet paper

Checking in was normal but upon entering the home first thing we noticed was moths and bugs everywhere because a window in the living room was obviously broken and could not be closed properly. The back sliding door was also open because it could not lock properly. This place has no AC and we were told to just open the windows which had no screens! So we had to decide between being in a hot and stuffy house or opening the windows and letting more bugs and mosquitoes in. We decided to go out the next day and buy our own fans. There was also no toilet paper or paper towels provided and when we call to get some they told us we had to buy it ourselves. Blankets had red/orange stains. Dirty kitchen. Deck was covered with cob webs. Would not recommend nor stay here in the future.
