Some inconsistencies with listing
While the property was very clean with nice interior décor and well-groomed yard, we did encounter a few issues. The listing specifically notes AC but it does not have broad coverage; only cooled the living room and kitchen. Bedrooms were hot and even when sleeping with doors open the AC did not reach back rooms. We opened windows on cool nights but this was impossible when we experienced a heatwave that had temperatures of 90+; this was most troublesome. There was 1 fan in the basement, and we ultimately had to get another fan. Some nights the kids slept in the living room on the floor and we made the most of it.
The listing also noted sleeping area in the basement however this area has no door to close it off from the tv/family area. The pictures do not capture this layout completely. This made it difficult to watch movies or play board games at night while kids were trying to sleep in that space; no privacy. This would present a challenge if someone had younger children that had to sleep earlier.
Our first night started with the smoke/CO2 alarms sounding almost every hour from around 9PM until the property manager arrived the next morning and made the disconnection. As they were all interconnected there was no way for us to resolve the issue, needless to say no sleep. Having said that, they were responsive and resolved the issue with an electrician.. This issue did not happen again and demonstrates how well the property manager responded.
One small item was that the check-in/check-out procedures from the property manager did not align with the owners check-in/check-out procedures. We did follow up with the property manager and they were responsive in providing clarity. This was a small item but one that renters should just be aware of so you are not wasting time on certain items when the property manager has a service to do several tasks.
The outdoor shower, grill and other amenities still provided a pleasant family vacation.
