Quintana - family friendly retreat

Located 15 minutes from the beautiful township of Foster, just 10 minutes from the gates of Wilson's Promontory (which now has free entry), and even closer to the magnificent beaches of Waratah Bay and Sandy Point (both less than 10 minutes by car), Quintana makes an excellent base for a holiday exploring South Gippsland.

Quintana has been custom designed with three families holidaying together in mind, although the layout would suit most large groups. The house sleeps 16 people comfortably with six bedrooms, including 3 with queen beds, and 3 "bunk" rooms (sleeping 3, 4 and 5), and a large bathroom and separate ensuite. It's tastefully furnished and decorated with lots of little touches to make your stay more enjoyable.

Included are 2 dishwashers, comfy couches, a cupboard full of board games for young and old, heaps of cutlery and crockery, decent sized mugs and glasses, sharp knives that are actually capable of cutting stuff and awesome showers (even better than at home). Also a number of features to keep children happy, including a safely landscaped outdoor area with plenty of room to run (the block is 1.5 acres, fully fenced), a small basketball court (bring your ball) and a big screen smart TV.

A more recent addition is a schmick new woodfire to keep you toasty on those cold Gippsland nights! Firewood is provided... just bring some kindling.

For this reason, we've tried to keep the pricing inclusive and simple, and the pricing calculated by the Stayz website is always correct, but to summarise.....

Weeknights: $500/night

Weekends (Fri/Sat nights): $600/night

Peak periods (Victorian school holidays/public holiday weekends): $650/night

These prices include the full capacity of the house (up to 18 guests), but you will need to bring linen. Each bed has a pillow, mattress and pillow protectors, a doona and blanket, so just bring your own sheets/doona covers/pillow cases and towels.

We have a 100,000 litre water tank with the latest in pump and filter technology, so the water is fully filtered and pristine at every tap in the house.

The house is well stocked with all the kitchen necessities for cooking for a crowd, including a 1 1/2 oven, two dishwashers and a large BBQ along with lots of bench space and a "crowd-friendly" kitchen design. There is a slow cooker, rice cooker, food processor, stick blender, 2 sandwich-presses and lots of servingware.

We hope all of these features will add to the enjoyment of your stay.

Frequently asked questions

The nearest shop is the Sandy Point General Store which is about 10 minutes away, and fine for some bread and milk. Foster is a more substantial town with 2 supermarkets and is about 15 minutes away. Many guests do their big shop in Leongatha on the way down where there is a choice of Coles, Woolworths and IGA.

The location of the property was great, and the accommodation was quiet and comfortable. However, there were a few minor issues that should be addressed, as they are basic requirements:- There was no iron available at the property.- The trampoline was torn and should be repaired for safe use by children.- A few maintenance issues need attention, especially considering the rental cost. For example, a door lock and floor near the bathroom were temporarily fixed with tape (posing a trip hazard), and one of the beds was slightly broken and needs repair.Overall, the property was good, but it could be improved by addressing the above issues.

Quintana Family Stay

My family really enjoyed our stay here. Lots of outdoor space for the kids to play games in and the basketball area was a real winner. Beds were comfortable, living/dining space good and kitchen was very usable, with lots of cooking implements. Thank you for having us- great house for large groups!

Plenty of indoor space to cater for 9 adults and 7 grandkids. Sleeping arrangements great. Outside area mown and super spacious. Great for soccer or like ball games. Waratah Bay and Sandy Point just a short drive. We love the area and had a great time.

Great House For Big Groups

We all had a great time staying here, the house had everything we needed and the backyard was a hit as we were able to play ball games with the kids. It was like your own oval.

Good location, big house.

This is our 2nd time booking the property. Property in a good location, house was clean and big enough for a large group(had 12) enough beds and there was a half basketball court at the back. Really spacious property.

Great for families

Booked this property for my two sisters and their families to stay at for my wedding in Foster. So much room! Six bedrooms, large kitchen and lounge area, heaps of room for the kids to run around. They loved it. One point made was how nice it was inside. Clean, comfortable, and very well appointed. Well positioned close to beautiful Sandy Point beaches and Foster for supplies. Highly recommended if you've got a large group of people.

Nice place to stay

It's a nice place to stay. It's really close to Wilson Prom. The house is spacious on a big piece of land. People complain about the spider web. I did see one of them in the bathroom and most of them are outside. But it's kind of a farm house so you have to accept that. I would not mind to book this place again.

Great spot for extended family get together

The property was perfect for our extended family of 15 to stay. Grandparents, parents and grandchildren. The house was perfectly clean inside and well appointed for holiday home. The large grounds had the grass freshly cut so looked great. The outside of house was a bit tired and could do with a fresh coat of paint. There is a very effective fireplace and external fire pit, but they dont provide enough firewood (one nights worth), which is annoying as you have to buy bags locally at exorbitant prices. However it was perfect for us and have rebooked for next year.

One of the best places to visit Wilsons Prom !!!

We stayed in Quintana for 02 nights with family and friends over the summer holidays. Place was well maintained and clean. Ample amnesties in the kitchen including massive fridge and 02 dishwashers which we found useful. and you will find everything you wanted for a pleasant stay. It was only 30min to Wilsons Prom beaches.!!! Kids had a ball in the massive backyard. don’t forget your sporting gear, specially for a game of cricket. After all we wished we had a pool in the property. Out of all, host was super nice. Peter was attentive to our queries and responds within minutes. One of families forgot an item in the property, and he was generous enough to pick it up and post it on his own cost for us. Highly Recommended to anyone.!

On the fence

The property overall is at a beautiful location, the house is big, plenty off space for kids to play, facilities like bbq, basketball courtt were fantastic. We were dissapointed that the trampoline was not available for the children to use. We found there was way too many spider webs and way too many spiders inside and outside the property. (So if your.got a fear of spiders, this isnt the place for you). Cleaners need to check ceilings all around the house, as we found spiders at every corner. Kitchen stovetop not the best to cook on. We did enjoy the house as it allowed my family to share meals together, have a laugh, take some great photos and build memories. Thank you for renting out your house to a family who love the beach.

I do not wish for this review to be published on your page. I have contacted the owner and that is enough coverage. Overall the house was excellent for our family group. Great lay out, well stocked kitchen and generally comfortable. However the cleanliness of the entire house left much to be desired. The floors were extremely sticky and dirty and as we had crawling infants this was problematic also as was the kitchen / sink/ microwave. We did have to spend a considerable amount of time making it clean for sterilising baby's feeding gear. The barbecue also required cleaning before use. I am not one that would usually complain but having spent a good deal of money and also having had the house booked for several months we were very disappointed with this important aspect of our holiday rental. Having said that if we could be guaranteed a clean house we would consider holidaying there again as it offers great potential for our family get togethers and we would love to explore the area more.

Hi Feedback we would like you to consider and reimburse us for. Light covers and rooms full of bugs and spider webs. Not Hygenic. We rent alot of places for holidays (especially farms), and never like this. I expected inside to be clean. I requested this from you a few times before coming to the property. Appliances most likely will not pass consumer affairs safety standards. They are old and not in usable/healthy condition. Trampoline is not safe. The safety guard on one side keeps moving and is being held by two wooden logs. This is dangerous. Our child got hurt, as her foot got stuck in the hold once the guard suddenly moved. Very lucky as the injury could have been worse. I have photos of a the above as evidence. Await your response.

Not a pleasant experience for us

During our stay first night we had plans to do a BBQ but unfortunately BBQ’s were no way near useable. It was filthy and rusted . They have not cleaned it properly and not maintained at all . Also first evening we lost gas supply to the house . We have contacted the owner but he said can’t do anything at that stage and it will be fixed following day morning . We had no hot-water or couldn’t use kitchen except oven and small hot plate . Not the way we wanted to start our much awaited holiday . We had three small kids and it was very challenging with no hotwater or kitchen . Gas supply was reinstated on following day noon time after several calls and follow ups and we lost half of that day for this . We ment to leave early on the following day and couldn’t get done anything until house was fixed . Owner has given us 5%discount for the whole loss . Non of us will go back this property. We planned this getaway for a while and it went downhill, such a waste of our money and added stress. Rooms were average, nothing much to say about it . We found some old socks under the beds . Wii consoles were very old and broken . Only highlight of this place was beautiful sunrise .

Absolutely filthy

We booked this property because it was close to shallow inlet and advertised as a family friendly home with an inground trampoline, games for the kids, and looked clean. However this was not the case. This place is absolutely filthy! Ever single window is COVERED in cobwebs aswell as the porch/Verandah. The indisde is dusty and smelly, floors are dirty, shower grout is black and seals are mouldy. The Quilts stink and had nasty yellow stains all over them and All of us got bitten by bed bugs !!! Another disappointment was The inground trampoline which was old and dodgy and had a massive tear in it, so the kids couldn’t play and were devastated. Their boredom only increased when switching on the old , NON-smart TV and tried to connect the ancient Wii console only to discover that was broken too. The fridge and pantry were full of old food from previous people, the appliances filthy, the fabric dining chairs are stained and stink, and to top it all off the BBQ was fitted with the wrong connection so we couldn’t use that either. This place is unacceptable and falsely advertised. Don’t waste your money and time and book somewhere else! I want my money back but judging from previous complaint reviews, the owners are argumentative rather than apologetic and clearly don’t care about the condition of their property.

The house was the perfect size for us, the yards were amazing and the kids loved the in-ground trampoline and basketball ring!! Such a beautiful area for a lovely weekend getaway!

Fish Creek

We enjoyed our stay at Fish Creek. The location of the house was ideal for a day trip to Wilson’s Prom. The house itself was well equipped with everything you need to self cater during your stay. It was disappointing we only had one shower for our stay given how many people the house accommodates. A working bbq would have been useful also. Finally, there is room for improvement in the cleanliness of the house and the bedding provided. If issues were resolved I would be happy to stay again.

Great house for a group

A comfortable amount of room for two families. Plenty of kitchen equipment, crockery, glasses & cooking equipment, two dishwashers. Unfortunately the bbq wasn’t working which made the kitchen crowded for us. The en-suite shower wasn’t pumping in cold water most of our stay, I’ve let the owner know. We enjoyed the outdoor firepit, the kids played on the trampoline although it is damaged & of course they kept wanting to drop their toys down the holes! Basketball court was fun. I feel the house could do with a bit of maintenance for the price. Location is great.

Brilliant accomodation!

The location of the property was excellent!! We were 5 families, and stayed extremely comfortably. The house was super clean with all the essentials readily available. The communication with the property manager was extremely easy and comfortable. We look forward to using this property again in the future!
