Lovely stay

We had the perfect 70 degree and sunny weather. The hot tub was great. The kitchen was well stocked. The furniture is different from the pics but it didn’t matter. Think the new furniture is better. Little touches like towels for the hot tub and toys for kids was nice.

Relaxing cottage with great location

We enjoyed a relaxing and sightseeing trip at this beautiful little cottage in Manchester! We relaxed in the hot tub. Enjoyed the fireplace and the beds were soft. The best part was the private beach access! Definitely recommend this for a quiet, relaxing trip with great sightseeing nearby.

Great find! We’ve been going to Irish Beach every year since middle school (45 years) but first time staying here. Very clean and tidy with great views! We especially liked the fenced in yard for our dog, the comfy beds and the room with bunk beds! We will definitely book again. Thank you!

Feels like home

Beautiful home with great view in a lovely neighborhood. Access to private beach (recommend driving). Great area to walk around. Close to lighthouse. Great house for kids!!!

Irish Beach again

Irish Beach is the only place I pay to stay in Mendocino County, the beach is the reason I go. This house was great, comfortable, easy and well appointed.

Mostly good

The tree branches overhanging the driveway scraped the top of our cars so need to be trimmed. Luckily we were able to drive off the driveway to avoid them. The house didn't have central heating and was pretty cold but there was a fireplace/stove and the owners provided space heaters. Unfortunately it wasn't safe to use any of that with an active toddler running around. LIving area had plenty of comfortable seating, but the floors were pretty dirty; after the first few hours our 3 year old grandson's socks were black. Everything else was very clean. The bathrooms were pretty small but very clean. Since we were there for a week it would have been nice to have extra towels so we didn't have to do laundry every couple of days. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Most of the issues we had we were able to work around. The only issue that was a real problem was the garbage. The garbage, which should have been picked up the day before we arrived, was overflowing.

Nice cozy cottage, w/private beach we loved it. Rooms spacey and clean, kitchen well equipped and clean, the living room was comfortable, fire smoked the cottage up we'd recommend not to use it. Nathrooms were a little small but clean, the Jacuzzi was a plus, and the view was wonderful. The only problem we had was with the garbage the outside containers weren't emptied before we arrived so there was an overflow when we left. I would recommend the patio chairs be replaced with better ones the ones there are very old and broken. We had a great time and we'd most likely go back.

Nice house, although there were ants in the kitchen and the stove light anf fan and coffee machine didn’t work. The hot tub and the bunk bed room were a big success.

Lovely spot!

We were only in Manchester for two nights but enjoyed our time, especially at the Irish Beach Cottage. It was nice to have the space after traveling. It is peaceful, and the ocean view is beautiful. The house had everything we needed including an outdoor hot tub. Beautiful hikes in the area!

Didn't want to leave!

Over spring break I rented this house with my in-laws and our dog. There were a total of 4 adults and two kids. The proximity and access to a private beach is unbeatable, and we enjoyed trips to the ocean daily. The hot tub was a lovely feature that my kids enjoyed multiple times per day. The house was lovely, clean, and comfortable. As for the area, we enjoyed daily adventures to new areas, fine restaurants and the most beautiful coastline. I highly recommend this listing and the local support was also very responsive and helpful!

Irish Beach Rental

Definitely an older home and smaller than I anticipated from the photos and descriptions. The host was responsive at first about early check in, but when I tried to ask about getting use to the washer and dryer there was NO response at all. The wood burning stove in the living room didn't put much heat out and not great ventilation so it was smokey smelling at times. Location was nice and close to Irish Beach but about 10 mins to the nearest grocery store in either direction and about 20-25 mins from Point Arena. If you want a small cottage with a little ocean view this was a good spot. It did have a pretty well equipped kitchen

Great spot, Cozy visit!

This was a very comfortable stay, beautiful house, with great views! my only reason for not giving a 5 is; the house smelled a bit of smoke from fire place when we first arrived and we lost power, popped a circuit, in a bedroom on the first night. it was fixed the next morning and all good after that. The Private access beach was very cool spot! Other than these two minor issues, I was very pleased with property and recommend for a quiet relaxing vacation.

Very dirty

This place was dirty dirty. There was trash still in the bins from whoever stayed before us, and the Kurig had old stagnant water in it from who knows how long, complete with an old used K-cup still in the machine. There is dog hair on everything, like, everything everything. Globs of it under the beds. There is no heating in the house, and you’re given 1 bundle of wood when you check in to get you started. There’s no kindling, no tinder. Just a cold dark house, three logs, and half a box of matches. It took two hours to get a fire going the first night. There are space heaters, but most of them are half melted and we were afraid to leave them on at night. In the bedroom off the living room we never could get the lights on. So half the lights in the house just don’t work. The bathroom tub is stained yellow on the walls, it looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in a while. There was a massive spider living in the master shower, so that clearly hadn’t been turned on or cleaned in a while. All of the “clean” dishes in the cupboards are full of water, I’m not sure why. So everything had to be cleaned twice. The utensils are old melted plastic, so if you stay here I recommend bringing your own pan and spatula at least. I’d also recommend bringing your own pillow as the ones here are useless they’re so worn. There’s no lint trap in the dryer, but there’s plenty of lint built up. That’s how we finally got the fire going, so I guess there’s that. The fire place looked like it had never been cleaned out. There was so much old ash the vent was completely clogged up and blocked. We cleaned it out, because that’s a fire hazard for the house. Over all, the house gets one star for the hot tub and the view. Other than that, I would recommend the area, and staying anywhere else.

Private beach access

Pros: We loved the private beach access. It was so convenient. A few times we went down there, we were the only car in the lot. The hot tub was amazing with the view of the ocean. The house fit our group great. Cons: There is a major ant problem that needs to be handled. We had to deal with it multiple times a day. The beds and bathrooms were clean but the carpets had dog hair everywhere. It’s not ideal at all to stay here for a week without being able to wash and dry clothes. The towels and our bathing suits were hard to work with without a dryer.

Great spot and comfortable

Nice house, comfortable, quiet, nice beds, well equipped kitchen, hot tub, lots to like. Now why it didn’t get 5 stars. A bit pricey, especially after all the fees. It needs a dryer, this is the north coast, your swimsuits and towels are not going dry out. So I recommend bringing extras. Bathrooms are small. You need to bring or buy firewood and charcoal. Better yet, put a gas grill on the deck, every other half decent rental house has one.

Perfect family get away

We escaped the valley heat to enjoy a lovely 55 degrees in a cozy, well equipped beach bungalow. Plenty of space for 4 teens, two adults and even the dog! The hot tub was just right, the space was inviting for all to gather and play games. The only negative was the next door neighbor was building with a generator thru the weekend, obviously owners can’t help that! We will be back.
