Being a single level chalet, you will enter into an ultra-cozy living room area, boasting an open floor plan and high knotty pine beamed ceilings, you will feel like you have arrived to your own private mountain lodge for your stay. Comfy couches sat around a toasty wood burning fireplace and flat screen Streaming TV provide the perfect spot to snuggle up and enjoy a movie night or watch the snow falling through the big open windows in the winter months. A cute and efficient dining area and kitchen offer you all that you need to whip up your home cooked meals including cookware and general appliances, even a dishwasher is on hand for your added convenience.

Great Property

Had a really nice snowy weekend retreat in the mountains with the family. Enjoyed the hot tub and fireplace. The contactless check-in process was smooth and the house was clean and neat!

Quick Family Getaway

House worked our nicely for our short 3 night family ski trip. Living room felt larger than portrayed in the photos. Driveway in the rear is steep, need 4WD to access if it's snowing. I would stay here again.

Bachelorette party

I had a small bachelorette party for my friend here and it was beautiful. The view was great and it was walking distance to the village. Plus the house was just so cute and by our surprise the couch pulled out to a bed! The whole stay was just amazing and I’m glad we picked such a cute cabin

Cute Cabin with Great Location

The Moulin Rouge is a great little cabin that is perfect for a family of 4, with kids under 12. The hot tub was clean and a great place to unwind after a day of summer activities. The cabin was clean and in great shape, and in the perfect location to walk to the village and fireworks on the lake! Check in and checkout processes were easy to follow. We will definitely be back! Wonderful Big Bear Get Away

We had a great time at the Moulin Rouge cabin. It was clean, quiet, and had everything we needed for a two-day stay. Our favorite part was enjoying the hot tub out on the deck on a chilly, rainy day, but cuddling in front of a roaring fire was a very nice touch as well. Having a fully-stocked kitchen was a huge perk as was being so close to the village. We will definitely stay here again when we venture back up to bIg Bear. We recommend the cabin to others that may considering staying here - we have no negative feedback whatsoever. Enjoy!

great popular location

Great clean property right next to the Village. Fits 5 of us perfectly with a nice hot tub. the beds mattresses were quite hard, and the pictures made the back yard with the hot tub look like it was enclosed but it isn't which made it just a bit more difficult to walk our dogs, but not that bad. The kitchen was great, had up to date appliances and the bathroom was very nice. It is a charcoal BBQ so you need to purchase your own, where propane would have been provided. We had a nice stay close to everything.

NO HOT WATER!

Seriously, why wasn't the water turned on? We couldn't shower the first night and this is a violation of Ca code.

Nice cozy cabin

One of my favorite stays in Big Bear - super cute cabin. Well stocked and decorated. Close proximity to the Village - very easy in and out of the neighborhood. Some challenges include the extreme slope of the driveway which made parking/ loading and unloading difficult. And the cabin itself has a strong "fireplace" smell. For those who have specific sleeping preferences - the queen bed was quite firm while the twin beds were less firm. The cabin isn't specifically baby/toddler friendly which isn't a problem, but for those looking for more child friendly properties - skip this one. We have a 3 year old who did fine - but was a bit nervous having her in a high twin bed and using glass dishware. Otherwise this was a great place and would recommend.

Adequate cabin, inadequate management

The cabin itself was fine. Mostly as pictured. Super cute from outside. Clean enough inside. Kitchen had adequate utensils and cooking necessities. Bedding and towels were poor quality but clean. Fireplace was a highlight. But sadly we will never book here again because of the management. Everyone we communicated with at Big Bear Vacations was polite and doing their job but there seems to be something deeply flawed about how this management company manages their properties. The check in time for the house was 4pm (and I should not check out time is 10am) We arrived (as instructed) at the management company at 3:30 to get address and key. We were told the house wasn’t quite ready yet. They would e-mail me when it was ready (you don’t get address or code/key until that e-mail arrives). I asked for a time estimate and was told 20:46. Which is almost 9pm. After doing the military time math the check-in staff realized that was unacceptable. They looked into it and then promised it’d be ready at 5pm. Long story short - 5pm came and went. No e-mail. I called the main number, asked for the front desk and was told they don’t have a direct line. The call center would take a message and pass it on. We opted instead to go back to the management office and ask for the manager. She promised a crew was at the house now and it would be done in 30 mins. We finally got the e-mail with the address and word that the home was clean over an hour later at 6:08pm. To their credit: the manager refunded our cleaning fee. And again, everyone we worked with was very polite. Also, it was a holiday weekend with lots of snow so that may have effected their ability to have homes ready. But this just started our trip out on a very stressful, not fun foot. And a quick look at their yelp reviews and google reviews shows we are FAR from alone. It sadly seems you are rolling the dice when you book with this company.

No heater all night and smoke was suffocating

My cabin was unlivable during my stay and my report of this was never responded to 1. The heater did not work the first night I was staying there and we were very cold during the night. It was fixed the next day in the morning 2. The cabin smelled of smoke. It was unbearable. I woke up the first night with a headache and my kid had trouble breathing. His chest hurt as well. I purchased several air fresheners and did all I could in order to make the cabin livable for my second night. I have attached the receipt. I requested compensation for my horrible stay and never received a response or a refund from the company

Great Cute Cabin close to everything

The location of this VRBO is amazing. It’s in big bear lake, and super close to the slopes and village. The cabin was super clean, but didn’t have a lot of the things that I’m used to in typical rental homes. The sofa isn’t the most comfortable, and while we were there there was a leak from the ceiling that was dripping onto my husband, during the rain. We called them and they had said that they would come out, but no one did. We just got an email saying that they apologize for the inconvenience , that’s about it. The heater is also extremely noisy. The layout, cleanliness, and location to activities make this a great cabin.

A Must Stay in Big Bear Lake

I was very impressed with the property! Its location near The Village was ideal as well as only minutes away from Big Bear Lake and nearby hikes. The property was clean, had plenty of space for parking, and we enjoyed the quiet neighborhood. This property I would recommend and would stay here again!

Check-in after 4:00 pm - Check-out before 10:00 am
No Early Arrival/Late Departure During Peak Seasons or Holidays.

There is No Street Parking Allowed in Big Bear- Make Every Attempt to Get Cars Off the Street for Snowplows. November thru April the law requires snow chains in your cars.

Pet Policy-Pet Friendly Homes Only-$40/Pet/Night
Pets must be acknowledged and may not be left unattended in the home. Owners must clean up after pets; subject to added cleaning fees for violations.

All homes include clean linens, and fresh bath towels for the occupancy. A kitchen with basic cookware and small starter amount of dish soap, toilet paper, and trash bags will be supplied. Paper towels, coffee filters/coffee, specialty appliances, nor condiments/spices/oils are supplied.

No Pay-Per-View Ordering in any homes.

No refunds/credits for cancellations or trip interruptions due to acts of nature, (especially snow, fire, power outages) weather, road conditions, mechanical or electrical failures, spa malfunctions, or other equipment factors beyond our control.

This is a forested mountain community home to critters- animals or insects you may encounter are spiders, moths, flies, squirrels, gophers, bears, coyotes, burro, bear, bats, etc. Our team inspects prior to arrival but cannot guarantee the home will be free of these forest critters.
