Sub-tropical Escape - holiday home in Matapouri Park
Open, spacious, and bright, this newly built holiday home is tucked away in the private gated community, Matapouri Park. Escape to a sub-tropical paradise, away from crowds, between surrounding native bush and Matapouri Bay.
Make yourself at home, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms at opposing ends of the house. There is plenty of private space for everyone, with open living in between.
The open plan living, dining and fully-equipped kitchen open onto the large covered deck where you can enjoy a BBQ, outdoor dining and lounge, ideal for unwinding together after a day in the sun.
If you run out of supplies, or fancy an ice-cream, pop down to the general store and take-aways, a 2-3 minute walk down the road.
Matapouri Beach is a short leisurely walk through Matapouri Park sub-tropical gardens, or a 15 minute walk through the native bush reserve will take you to Whale Bay. On your return, rinse off under the outdoor shower and relax in the sun on the lawn, or in the shade on the large covered deck or patio.
Whether you are looking for adventure or relaxation, you'll be spoilt for choice: surf at Sandy Bay, take a boat tour snorkeling or diving at The Poor Knights Islands marine reserve, shopping, cafes and restaurants at Tutukaka, take a stunning coastal hike or bike ride, play a round of golf at Ngunguru, relax, swim and explore at one of the many local beaches.
Matapouri Park has a private tennis court for guests' use (racquets and balls provided), and the house comes with an abundance of entertainment. Enjoy Corn-hole, Badminton, Pétanque and plenty of card & board games, or make use of the wifi & smart TV.
Please Note:
No additional cleaning charge provided the house is left clean and tidy as it was when you arrived, and all rubbish and recycling is taken away with you.
Please bring your own beach and shower towels - bed linen, hand towels, tea towels and dishcloth are provided.
The house is not suitable for boats or jet skis - there is limited parking and boat washing is not permitted.

Wonderful home for a family holiday!
We really enjoyed our stay here - the house was comfortable and well-equipped with everything we needed. The games and tennis court were a bonus for our teenagers. Amazing beaches a short walk away and the Tutukaka Coast is really interesting to explore.

Brilliant location -so peaceful. Close to the beach but quiet. Loved the walk through the tropical gardens to the beach. Hosts super helpful -thank you! This is a beautiful property with gorgeous gardens and a variety of games. Some fierce family competition with cornhole and the tennis court was a great bonus. Great attention to detail with everything. Quality. Would love to return.

Lovely Matapouri Bay
Beautifully decorated and landscaped home with plenty of room and lovely outdoor spaces. This home is within easy walking distance of gorgeous Matapouri beach, and 20 minutes walk from stunning Whale Bay. We loved these beaches and had a great time going out to the Poor Knights.

Everything you need for the perfect holiday
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely property. It had everything we needed to enjoy our holiday. It was clean and tidy with easy access to Matapouri Beach, Whale Bay and the local dairy. It was well equipped with activities and board games for entertaining the teenagers on rainy days, and there was plenty of room for us all to spread out, both indoors and outdoors. We would definitely stay there again.

Great spot
Great place for a week away with our kids aged 9 and 10. Very clean and tidy and located in a gated community which made it safe for the kids to cruise around when we weren't at the beach or inside due to unfortunate rain!
Neighbours house is very close to the back outdoor area.. need to be mindful if planning a few late nights by the BBQ.
Great spot and great comms with the owners.

Contemporary and calm
Loved this gorgeous modern house, the tropical gardens lining walkways, tennis court, and the beach - swimming in crystal clear water in misty rain. So lovely.

We are Troy, Andrea and Caden - we love exploring and adventuring around NZ, and are beyond lucky to call Matapouri and the Tutukaka coast our home.
We spent last year building our house at Matapouri Park - we built the house ourselves, and loving sharing what we have build with our friends and family.
Some of our favourite things to do on the coast are: paddle boarding and surfing, snorkelling and swimming, going for hikes, bike rides and walks - we're sure you will love adventuring in the area as much as we do!
