Nestled on 60 acres in the Ponderosa Pines, this newly built cabin boasts a fully equipped kitchen, Smart TVs, and a covered deck with forest views making it the ideal home-away-from-home. Spend your days exploring the 2 miles of private hiking trails, ATVing through the San Juan National Forest, or planning a day trip to Durango to explore the local shops and restaurants.

We had an amazing stay at the Cabin at the Little Ranch! The cabin itself is so cozy and comfortable, we felt right at home. The kitchen is very well appointed! Had spices, coffee, creamer, crock pot, baggies, plenty of pots and pans and much more The wood burning stove was a great way to warm up on cold nights, and plenty of wood was ready for us to use. The deck was a lovely, the corn hole and horse shoe pit were great fun, and the hot tub was AMAZING. The property is beautiful and very private. The area has hiking trails to explore right out the front door and we saw plenty of wildlife! James and Connie were wonderful and responsive hosts. This little cabin was a slice of heaven. I can't wait to return!

It is such a beautiful spot. All alone in the forrest. Such a cosy cabin. Good bed. Fire places. And do not forget….a great HotTub. We loved the place.

Wonderful place for rest and relaxation! Perfect location. Close but not too close. Sitting on the porch and enjoying the resident hummingbirds and deer was great. Listening to the wind blow through the pines was very calming. The cabin is beautiful and well kept. Walking in the surrounding woods was nice as was trying our hand at horseshoe throwing and cornhole. We only had contact with the homeowner/host the last day to inform them of an unexpected visitor during the night but based on the conversation, their cabin is a reflection of how wonderful they must be.
This little guy visited every day and quickly ran off the competition.
Several mule deer roamed the area every day as well.

Second year staying at The Little Ranch!! It has become our favorite Colorado spot! It is perfectly situated between Durango, Pagosa Springs & all our favorite lakes & hiking trails. The house is exceptionally clean & private. We enjoy cooking our meals in the evenings & the kitchen has everything we need with the gas grill getting a lot of use! We are looking forward to next year already!!

The Little Ranch was PERFECT!! The location was private and quiet. We ate breakfast on the deck each morning with humming birds and all kinds of birds buzzing around and singing. James thought of everything for this VRBO - an air purifier, outdoor heat element for warmth and s'mores, a hot tub, kitchen amply supplied, picnic table and washer set-up out front. The cabin was clean and perfect to come home to after off-roading all day around the area. We definitely hope to return!

The Cabin at Little Ranch

Excellent property-backs up to the San Juan Forest with plenty of hiking. Good security, and cute animals all around. We saw deer, hummingbirds, prairie dogs (marmots?), and other wildlife. 10/10 will stay again.

We loved everything about our stay at the cabin. It doesn’t lack a single thing. It’s clean, well stocked, in a great location and very peaceful. Start and/or end your days on the deck watching the hummingbirds and other wildlife. Don’t hesitate to book a stay!

We enjoyed the first stay so well, we came back!! Quiet, beautiful cabin nestled in the woods! We Loved the porch and the hummingbirds that greeted us each morning. It’s the perfect distance to Durango or Pagosa Springs. The cabin is super clean and cozy. Only a few miles into town to eat best omelette ever at Brenda’s cafe! Thinking of our 3rd stay 🥰

enjoyed our stay at the cabin

My wife and I had a great experience staying at the cabin near Bayfield, Co. The location was fantastic. We had access to hiking nearby and was close to Durango. The cabin is located in the forest which made it very quiet. James was a great host. He gave us good suggestions for restaurants and things to do in the area. The cabin was very clean and was well equipped with all the essentials for a nice stay. We would definitely go back there.

Quiet Escape, Conveniently Located

This little cabin is cozy, quiet and tidy. Located in a sweet spot just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Durango but close enough... Bayfield is even closer, with a nice grocery store. Well equipped, nicely laid out and very comfortable.

Perfect mountain getaway!

This cabin feels secluded but you are still minutes away from restaurants & grocery store. It was the perfect place for my family with young children to stay. I would book it again!

So relaxing

We had a great time at the cabin. Not only were we able to be close to fly fishing and hiking, but we had plenty of time to just do nothing. The cabin is nestled in the trees. Every morning we awoke to songbirds. It was truly a blessing for our family and a peaceful time.

Wonderful stay at the Little Ranch

Wonderful property off the beaten path. It’s in a beautiful setting with lots of privacy in the lovely Colorado pines. It was well stocked with a very comfy bed. Conveniently located between Durango and Pagosa Springs, you can quickly get to either location. We were lucky enough to wake up to a fresh snowfall in March! Overall I’d give it two thumbs up.

Absolutely Wonderful

We had an amazing time enjoying the cabin and mountains in the snow. Even with the cold the Cabin was so warm and cozy. It is extremely clean and beautiful to rest and relax. It was our second time to rest and refresh. (The first time was in the summer.) It just beautiful both times but watching the snow fall and the deer was so peaceful. The cabin is also surrounded by forest and you feel like you are away from civilization but 5 minutes to the grocery store, restaurants and other stores. Thank you so much to James and Connie Vaughn for your hospitality. We can't wait to come again.
