The property was terrific, comfortable and we had plenty of room, The view from everywhere was very nice (especially from the rooftop patio). We would recommend this property to everyone, especially those with a pet.

House is always clean (we've stayed here before). We are very grateful to be able to bring our four-legged friend. Martin, the host, is great and very responsive. We will definitely reserve another visit as the house is in a good location for us to access our favorite places to buy delicious Quebec cheeses, breads, pastries and more. Sitting at the dining table one evening, we were rewarded with a beautiful sunset over western hills. Thank you Martin for sharing your home.

We have stayed in many places and this rental was by far the nicest. So clean and in a beautiful setting . All amenities were provided.

Quaint house with a beautiful view!

The space worked out great for our family and was near skiing and food options. We went to Owls head, Mont Orford and Jay Peak - super convenient and easy through the border crossing. Travel advise from US - not all border crossings are open 23 hours so check ahead.

Township Wedding

My wife, daughter, son and their spouses and I booked for 2 nights as we were attending a wedding in the area. The house was fantastic ! Great communication with Martin, spotless and well equipped as well as a good fire pit that we absolutely enjoyed. Extremely happy that we found this gem. Peter L.

We had a great stay at the the Grilled Chamalow. The property was easy to find, clean and exactly as described. We had the equipment needed to cook and keep up with the home. Plenty of room for family time and privacy. The many windows in the living room created a relaxing location to read or put a puzzle together. Town was very limited with groceries so plan ahead. Owners communicated well and were responsive. We had a great time for the three days we stayed.

We have correspondence to back up this claim and videos of the filthy grill, that only barely worked. This left us cooking indoors with the temperature preset at 27. 3 walls of glass, which were pretty, make the upstairs suffocating. The host told us to open windows in the middle of July. I have videos of a serious ant infiltration. My "dinner guests" (pre-planned and communicated to the host) were apalled. Our guests had to make a plate and eat a large dinner in the basement because of the extreme heat & ants. Luckily, they were family and friends and actually felt sorry for us. I, personally, only slept in the Master bedroom upstairs the first night and slept on the sofa with the one fan on me, again, because of the heat. The internet (TV) went out on us multiple times. We pre-planned bringing our pet, but walking her wasn't fun because of the overgrown yard. He offered us 1 night discount for our multiple inconveniences, but, have not seen any activity on our credit statement. To be one night discount is insulting, because we endured very uncomfortable heat issues and ant infiltration. We do have pictures, witnesses and videos to back up our statements. We realize that he probably only wants to rent as a ski chalet. If so, he should have stuck with that.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Guest comfort matters a great deal to us, and we're sorry the stay didn't feel the way we'd want it to for anyone visiting the chalet. That said, we'd like to gently clarify a few points, as our records tell a different story in some areas. Temperature: We were closely monitoring the smart thermostat throughout your stay, and the indoor temperature stayed at or below 24°C (75°F) the whole time — a comfortable range. Opening the windows in the evening was simply offered as an extra option to enjoy the cooler night air, not because the home lacked air conditioning. BBQ: We tested the BBQ after your departure and found it working normally. Dinner guests: We don't have any record of a conversation about a planned dinner party during your stay — we would have loved to know in advance so we could help make it special. Ants: Ants were present during your stay, and we're sorry for the inconvenience this caused. We've since had the property treated, and while we understand it wasn't pleasant, it didn't stand in the way of enjoying the home. Internet: The disruptions coincided with severe storms passing through the region, which affected connectivity outside of our control. We genuinely care about our guests' experience and did our best to stay responsive throughout your stay.

Martin is great host and extremely gracious and responsive. The home is well-appointed and our group of 8 felt very comfortable in his house (we used the rollout couch for two teens). The view is incredible. Even in frigid temperature the temperature inside the home is nicely regulated and cozy. The kitchen is equipped with pots and pans, toaster, serving utensils and bowls, and all you need for a group like ours. Bring your own cooking oil, seasoning, coffee, portable coffee maker / brewing method. We liked that Martin even supplies the electric kettle. Perfect for tea, coffee, and oatmeal.You may wish to bring your own personal shampoo and body wash. And regular supplies are plentiful. If you forget anything? No worries, as a nice market is only half a mile away!We came here for a ski trip and the home is a great base for us. We are looking forward to another trip back here so we can stay at Martin’s place.

Great spot — perfect for entertaining

We booked this place for the weekend for a friend’s wedding. Lovely spot with nice views, especially in fall. It was secluded enough to allow us some privacy, but close enough to town (20-minute walk, quick drive). Great communication. Many items were provided. Only minor thing was that the BBQ wasn’t working and we were warned of this by the host on the day of, which was fine for us since we hadn’t planned to use it, but if you’re planning to use it, it might be worth asking about when booking. Otherwise no complaints!

Excellent!

Beautiful, as advertised. If I had one little constructive criticism to make, it would be to add night tables to the bedroom downstairs as there are none right now. We improvised. There was also not a single box of facial tissue in the house; it is winter and noses are runny! Otherwise, excellent. We recommend and would go back.

Très beau Airbnb, nous avons passé un séjour formidable. Super balcon sur le toit pour observer les étoiles/étoiles filantes. Le seul point négatif est qu’il y avait du caca de chien sur le terrain à l’arrière, nous avons donc pas pu profiter du terrain et du foyer (probablement de la négligence de la part des visiteurs précédents).

Beautiful house. It was perfect for our family—the kids enjoyed the many toys and games (and having a floor more or less to themselves). We appreciated the little touches, including access to plenty of firewood.

Nous avons passé un très beau séjour au chamalow grillé. La résidence est très spacieuse pour accomoder confortablement 8 personnes. L’emplacement pour le feu de camp a été très apprécié. Toutefois, le mobilier de table et chaises d’extérieur est un peu bancal et bénéficierait d’être amélioré pour accueillir confortablement 8 personnes à manger à l’extérieur.

Exactement ce qu'on recherchait, un endroit calme, propre avec toutes les commodités pour cuisiner de bons repas tous ensemble. La terrasse sur le toit et le foyer extérieur furent très appréciés. Un 5 étoiles à notre hôte. On va remettre ça !
