Thank you Patty ! We're so glad the location worked out so well, with the lake, the park, the boat launch, pier and historic steamship and restaurants just a walk away! It's great to hear the apartment felt comfortable, and that the reading nook and chairs were inviting. We appreciate the note about the stairs and know that's helpful context for future guests. Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful, detailed review!

The cottage was clean and had everything we needed. The arrangementOf the two bedrooms was inconvenient. A door between them would help.

Thank you for the feedback, We're glad the cottage was clean and had everything you needed. We have owned the property for about 10 years and this is the first time a door was suggested. Thank you , I like the idea — We have contracted someone to install a custom door between the two bedrooms. We take guest recommendations seriously and look forward to welcoming you back to an even better experience." Be well!

Cozy cottage

Good location, nice, quiet little town on north end of Lake Chautauqua. Short drive to Chautauqua Institute where we spent most of our time. Cottage was clean and cozy and had everything we needed. As a bonus the 4th of July fireworks were only a block away at the lake front and we could watch them from the porch.

Only negative for us was steep stairway as we are 85 &88. Fortunately we are still fit and careful.

We spent every day at Chautauqua Institute and enjoyed the comforts of the house in late evenings.

Shared from the owner: "Hi Helen, Thank you so much for choosing our vacation home for your stay! We're delighted to hear that you found the home comfortable and enjoyed your time at the Chautauqua Institute, just a few minutes away. It’s wonderful to know that the home provided a cozy retreat after your days exploring the nearby attractions. We truly appreciate your valuable feedback and look forward to the opportunity to host you again soon. As a heads-up, a new queen-size bed will be part of the fall upgrade to the bedroom, which we hope you’ll enjoy on your next visit!"

Grandkids!

My first trip to Mayville to visit family and all five of my grandkids. Oh yeah, the stay; its in a perfect location, two miles from family, walking distance to the lake and park. If you like ice cream, BoxCar cream shop is there too. The cottage home was clean and cozy, a real charm. Working with the owner was great. One thing to note is the steep stairs upon entry as my wife has mobility issues.

Small Cottage Charm

The cottage was small and cozy with a very eclectic style. The outdoor space was also small, but it was peaceful and comfortable. We found everything we needed at this property for our stay. I would not recommend this property for those with mobility problems because the stairs are pretty steep. Other than that, I recommend it for a comfortable and affordable place to stay.
