PROS
This is a beautiful house on a huge property. The landscaping was impeccable, and Giovanni was always around to assist with any issues we had but he speaks no English. We were 9 people and there was plenty of space for everyone with lots of separate spaces for people to hang out. If you are looking for seclusion then this is a great option.
The kitchen has lots of space and all of the amenities you need to cook, including a BBQ. Bring your own supplies, salt, pepper, spices, oil, butter and so on and you can cook anything. There was a basket of fruit from the trees on the property awaiting us as well as a bag of coffee and packs of sugar and whitener. This was a pleasant surprise.
The property is picturesque. The nature is abundant, including several resident cane toads, which like to come visit. Which is fine so long as you don't squeeze them and touch their poison glands on their back. There are so many birds that you should bring binoculars. We spent time in the pool every day. It was fantastic to take a dip after long day trips. Almost all activities are an hour and a half minimum, so 3 hours round trip. Jaco was one of the highlights, beautiful beach and fun touristy town with lots of shopping and restaurants.
CONS
As beautiful as this house is the location is challenging. The roads to the house are winding, bumpy and dusty. The time it takes to get to activities is a bit longer than listed on the site. I would add 30 min to all of the times shown.
The beds in the house are very firm. The bedding is limited but we went in March so it was hot and the sheet provided was usually enough. There are fans in every bedroom which helps.
The WiFi is a bit dodgy. We had 4 teenagers and an 11-year-old Fortnite junkie. There was a battle for WiFi daily, but for the most part people could text and look at Instagram. Streaming YouTube or games was possible if only one person was on. As an adult I didn't mind the lack of WiFi but the kids squawked.
The nature is beautiful and plentiful but also noisy. Haha. The cane toads were very loud, the birds start at about 4am and the insects like to sing. I would recommend earplugs and an eye-mask but I might be a bit particular about sleep.
As lovely as the house is, it is dated. I would say the house is about 30 years old so some of the glass doors didn't slide, or were foggy. The appliances were older but functional.
Overall, our experience was lovely.
