Trident Cottage is a secluded 2-bedroom, 2-bath guest house, nestled among the lush tropical garden and magnificent palm trees of Trident Estate.

Just steps from the famous pink sands of Poponi Beach - one of the most beautiful and unspoiled beaches in the Bahamas - this secluded cottage offers peace, privacy, and easy beach access.

Walk just one minute along the shoreline to reach the Unique Village restaurant and bar, or take a scenic stroll down the beach to La Bouginavillea's restaurant and bar for dining with a view.

Enjoy our new ocean-view hot tub! There is a $30 per day fuel fee to heat the hot tub.

Trident Cottage is fully air conditioned to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The cottage features a fully equipped kitchen, including an oversized refrigerator and freezer.

Amenities include Smart TV with Netflix (but no satellite or cable), reliable Wi-Fi, an automatic on-demand generator, solar with back up solar battery, a safe, a large freshwater cistern, and a tandem sea kayak.

One bedroom at Trident Cottage has a king bed and one has a queen bed. There are 2 bathrooms, one is en-suite with a bedroom and the other bathroom can be entered from the hallway. There is a shared walk-in shower in the middle which connects both bathrooms. There is also an outdoor shower.

Enjoy your morning coffee on the wrap around balcony with ocean views, while watching the sunrise and listening to the sounds of the surf!

There is a private driveway with plenty of parking.

The town of Palmetto Point is just half a mile away, a one-minute drive or a ten-minute walk. Palmetto Point is home to the popular Mate and Jenny's restaurant, as well as several stores. La Bougainvillea's beachfront restaurant/bar is a 2 minute drive. Tippy's beachfront restaurant is a 5-minute drive. A ten-minute drive takes you into Governors Harbor, the main town on the island. Governors Harbor has a charming collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking its historic harbor. Buy fresh fish and lobster most afternoons from fisherman at the town dock, or visit the recently restored Haynes Library, which dates from 1897, for the weekly coffee hour for foreign residents and tourists. Governors Harbor has grocery stores, restaurants, liquor stores, two banks with ATMs, a bakery, gift shops, and a medical clinic. Friday Night Fish Fry in Governors Harbor, a street/beach party that brings together all the tourists and locals with food, drink, and dancing in the street, is not to be missed.

Excellent Location with a perfect beach

We had an amazing week at the cottage. The location was a short drive away from a handful of carribbean beaches and amazing restaurants. We spent the last two days lounging on our beach which was great for snorkeling. The house was equipped with everything we needed and the owners were incredibly kind and helpful.

First time to the island

Trident cottage is very charming and comfortable. The grounds are beautiful. Seemed to be a very quiet neighborhood and felt very safe. The kitchen is small but had everything we needed. Air conditioning worked great. The beach was very nice but make sure you are able to climb stairs to get to it. This house is perfect for a couple. I wish it had an ocean view but I’m still giving it 5 stars.

Fantastic vacation to relax and enjoy Caribbean beaches!

We have really enjoyed Trident Guest house. We spent a marvelous week in a paradise just few meters away from the most beautiful beaches in Eleuthera.

Great stay at Trident cottage

The property is well kept, nice and clean and steps from an amazing empty beach. The kitchen is a bit tight (but was definitely sufficient).Key was left in a lock box and easy to check in/out.Backup generator saved us when there was a power outage right in the middle of cooking dinner. The generator was able to keep the cooktop and oven on as well as all the lights.

The Trident Cottage was absolutely wonderful. Our family of 4 was very comfortable in this clean, simple, well-stocked home. The property was incredible! Beautiful gardens and steps to a stunning beach. We had the beach to ourselves, seeing only an occasional person or couple during a walk. The location is great for exploring other parts of the island. We snorkeled a lot with our kids on the Caribbean side beaches but my husband and I were also to get out to snorkel the reefs in front of the house when the wind was calm enough. I can't say enough about our love for this spot. Truly exceptional!

Wonderful property

Gorgeous landscaped garden, stunning pink sand private beach. Well appointed comfortable cottage. Great AC. Atrentitive hosts and property managers. Brought us fresh grouper for the grill. Can’t wait to come back.

Poponi Beach was probably our favourite walkable in 2-3 minutes from the cottage through the main property and down the steps to the beach. We rarely saw anyone else on the beach. The property is as described, very clean and perfectly suited our needs as a family of 4, 2 young children. Mains power was interrupted quite a few times but the property generator kicked in promptly to continue to providing power. We would definitely consider staying again if we visited Eleuthera again.

The Cottage is exactly as advertised plus quiet, safe and secure. The Owners who live in a separate home on the property are extremely pleasant, and immediate to respond to any concerns or to help you with advice on any local matters. The Cottage is nestled on a lush and well-maintained property, and you are literally steps away from a modest set of stairs that lead you to a pristine pink sand beach. And on this beach, as on most of the 100+ beaches on the island...you’ll be alone. We were there a month and only 4 or 5 people walked by us the entire time! And most days...we didn’t see anybody. You’re only a few miles to nearby beachfront restaurants; groceries; farm fresh produce; and you’re basically centered on the island making exploring in either direction an easy activity. Regarding Eleuthera itself, be advised: If you’re seeking night-life activities; commercialized chain establishments; or want to be catered to at a large resort...this probably isn’t the place for you. If on the other hand you are seeking to relax off the beaten path; in a fairly remote tropical island atmosphere; and experience the heart and soul of the Bahamas: the wonderfully kind Bahamians themselves...then do yourself a favor: come to Eleuthera... and stay at Trident.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First, please scroll through the previous reviews for this place and read the one I wrote for it last year (Brian R. January 31, 2023). Please also know that after staying there again this year, for a month, I can tell you this: Our experience was even better!Upon arriving the first thing I noticed was they cut a tasteful swath through the tropical forest opening up a wonderful view of the ocean. Now you can sit on the deck and look out at the amazing blue/turquoise water and let the sound of crashing waves take you away. For the cook in your family: The kitchen has all new pots, pans, and enough cooking accessories to make cooking away from home a breeze. Also, there a two new fat-tire bikes for your use. A ride along the back roads with their stunning beach views is inexplicable. Not mentioned in my previous review: There is an on-site generator. So, if and when there is a power outage on the island you’ll never know it. The generator immediately starts and provides back-up power to the cottage. Also, the internet connectivity at this property is extremely reliable and lightning fast. (It has to be, as the near-by on-site Owners of this property rely on uninterrupted internet for their own occupations) So if you use the internet while on vacation, or more importantly, need to perform some on-line work while you’re away from home, you’ll very much appreciate this. Please note: Power outages do occur on Eleuthera. If for some reason you’re not going to stay at this cottage make sure the property you will be renting has a generator and a fast reliable internet connection.Overall, renting Trident Cottage provides us with a calming experience both before we go, and while we’re there. We know that among other things it’s well appointed, safe, secure, very private and quiet. Lastly, the Property Manager, Justin, is quick to respond to any questions or needs you may have. S

In short order, we were given alternatives and we chose Trident Cottage due to its proximity to the beach. It wasn't the house we'd been dreaming about for the past few months, but it turned out great anyway. The house's location was great, and the house itself was clean, comfortable and well-equipped. Yes, this being the Out Islands, there were power glitches, but we're Out Island veterans who'd probably be disappointed if we didn't have a story like that to report!Thanks to Christiane and Neal for being such great hosts, and to Kristin for setting us up.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great location, very clean, and a great beach almost to yourself. Only saw a few other people on it the entire stay. Had a few first stay glitches with the electricity, but I was actually shocked, no pun intended, at how quickly they got remedied. We come to Eleuthera frequently, and everything happens here on island time, so I expected it to be a major issue on a weekend, but not so. The owners are only a house away, and were on hand to help! Outdoor shower works too, that's a big plus. Only thing I'd the above description it claims "Walk to restaurant/bar? Don't know about that, maybe there was one I didn't know about, but this is a pretty secluded place, which is great, but you'll be driving a short way to Governor's Harbor for the restaurants.
