Valley Paradise

A beautiful serene place to get away from it all. Clean and spacious with comfortable beds, a large kitchen, with everything needed to make a holiday meal. Close proximity to South Padre Island and other RGV points of interest.

Peaceful and spacious family stay

Peaceful neighborhood and spacious grounds bonused with the riverfront sunrises made this place a repeat preference. Host was responsive when no wifi/service made it not possible to find emails with address to locate place without google/phone working properly. The master bedroom shower wouldn't turn on after the 2nd day strangely. Easy to get to South Padre islands with low traffic during Spring Break. The rope swing broke so just be careful with those. Other than that it was just what I needed as a get away.

Beautiful and stress free

The beautiful property had plenty of space for our family. Great for stress free relaxation. Walks through the citrus orchards, or in our case the driveway due to rain, were beautiful especially at night while the fireflies light your way. From the booking of the property, to our last walk/drive down the driveway was wonderful! Thank you!

Great Vacay

Beautiful, spacious house with a beautiful backyard! We were 4 adults and 5 children (ages 3-12) and we had plenty of room! Tons of room outside to run, bbq and play. Awesome open living room/kitchen area for when it was time to relax inside. The house was clean and the beds were comfy. Great location! We were just close enough to the beaches without having to be in all the hustle and bustle of the island.

The house is what I need for my whole family.

Everything is perfect for my size. I came in this vacation with my grown kids and their family. 6 adults including me 7 and 5 grandchildren ages 2-5 and this house accommodation for all of us is amazing. Trudy the owner is very flexible with us all and she’s very understanding. I will sure come back. The house is great!

Let me start by saying that the pictures don’t do this property justice. We were looking for a place that was quiet to reset but close enough to attractions because we were traveling with teens. On our way to the house we stopped at the Outlets in Mercedes, TX. Upon arriving we noticed how clean the house was and how cool the air conditioner temp was at because it was very hot outside. The backyard is awesome and it has a huge space for running around and playing games. The view of the lakefront is beautiful at sun set-our teens got great pictures for their social media posts. The house also has a private pier that is locked for everyone’s safety but got the code to use it for fishing. We were mainly going to cook at the house and found the kitchen was perfectly stocked with everything we needed. This was the perfect place-we were about 20 minutes from SPI-we would check Google maps to see when the bridge was less full and that is when we would go without having to wait to cross. Our kids did several activities on SPI but parasailing was their favorite. Make sure you purchase activities before hand because a lot of the attractions get booked. We had dinner on the island on Sunday with no wait time due everyone probably traveling back. Saturday was too full all day even the bridge which added 30 minutes to the travel time. Trudy was very polite and her responses were quick. We would definitely stay here again-we loved it!

Amazing, peaceful, beautiful memories were made!!

I just can’t say enough great things about this place! This was exactly what we needed! The house and location were perfect. The house was very clean, spacious, well - kept, and smelled really nice. There is an open floor plan for separate families to stay together without living on top of each other like other rentals. The restroom doorways were wide enough to fit a larger physique which some of us needed. It was great! There were instructions for everything needed and the host even showed us where we can use some of their complimentary items such as sunscreen, lotion, mosquito spray, etc. It was just an extremely thoughtful gesture considering those are items that may be routinely forgotten. The front of the yard is filled with an amazing orchard with different varieties of trees. Some (possibly all) were even labeled so it was somewhat of a learning of nature for me and my family. The driveway was very user friendly with the roundabout for vehicles. The concrete in the driveway, walkway, and front entrance were extremely smooth. I NEVER walk around barefoot but I found myself so relaxed that I found myself walking barefoot a lot! The birds in the morning in the front birdbath are an absolute delight! The backyard is the absolute best and the majority of where we spent our time. We had small children in our party so as you can imagine, all hands on deck to watch them, but this host thought of everything! There’s a gate to the pier with a lock (different from front gate which I loved too for safety reasons) to get to the pier. The children were able to play freely in the backyard the entire time! Also, I would like to point out that my daughter is blind and autistic so it’s extremely hard for her to join in on some events when we travel. Well, she was in heaven here with the swing in the backyard! It allowed for her to lay down and enjoy nature and the beautiful sounds. I am so grateful for Trudie hospitality and for opening up her beautiful home to us! We absolutely WILL be renting again!

As a common user of rentals for family trips i must say, this spot by far surpassed my expectations. It’s privacy, location and overall beauty were underestimated to say the least. Great location and beautiful grounds.

Peaceful, away from the crowds, yet not far from it all

We had a short notice week long visit to Brownsville and South Padre come up and are so very pleased that we found Trudy's place! Number one was the off-the-beaten-path peaceful rasaca (canal like) and orchard setting with a comfortably arranged home. Trudy was an excellent thoughtful host and communicator, with the kitchen well equipped and nice touches throughout the house. The house was very clean and master bed comfortable. This is a great escape and re-charge destination as well as not far from South Padre Island/beach, Brownsville and Mexico. Best restaurant we encountered on this trip was Lobo Del Mar Cafe (18 miles away on SPI if you go), but we did not get out much with the nice kitchen so we are sure there are more.

Lovely, peaceful place

This house was so peaceful, I almost didn't want to leave. Everything was exactly as described. It was very private, very comfortable, and the host was excellent. The front porch is a wonderful place to sit and watch birds in the morning. The sunroom was a great place to escape the heat of the day. The kitchen had every utensil I could possibly need. I only wish we could have stayed longer!

A trip to the beach

We stayed two nights at this extremely peaceful relaxing home. It was the perfect end to a long day of travel and time at South Padre. It’s close enough to everything we needed yet far enough out to be removed from the lights and noise of town. A perfect place to rest. Clean and very comfortable!
