Updated December 25th, 2023 - We are now renting Cross Country Ski's. We have a variety of sizes, but its limited to start. If you let us know what you need in advance we can likely put something together and have it ready for you when you arrive at the cabin. If you are interested we can forward you the rental rates, We have kept it affordable by providing used skis at about half the standard rates.

Update - August 27th - Outdoor Shower is completed, Deck has been expanded. Fences are completed, and stained. Coming soon - Bean Bag Toss (Corn Hole) to compliment the Axe Throwing!

Update - May 1st, 2023 - Screened in Porch is complete! Also added a few Hammocks in the yard, tucked away in quiet spots. Great spot for a book and your favourite summer drink! Mine is Gin and Tonic, ( or maybe Wine, or beer if it’s hot out! - I have a few favourites!). along with a variety of books - In to thin Air is one of my most enjoyed. Horse Shoe Pits are coming next. Original description below.

We think it’s a pretty cool space. Please let us know what you think. We are renovating the whole property, so the yard space and some of the out buildings are still in need of much love. But this cottage has turned out very well, it sleeps 9 people, as well there is a second cabin that can also be rented at an additional cost, that would sleep an additional 8 for a total sleeping spots for 17 ! (See listing VRBO 2693556) We have a Rustic Cabin feel with modern amenities. The stone fireplace makes for a cozy living and dining room after a day of Cross Country Skiing or Ice Fishing. Three bedrooms that sleep 9 in total. We couldn’t find a way to list the details of the third bedroom as it has a twin bunk bed and a twin over double bunk bed, but descriptions can be found in the pictures The entire place has been renovated including a new kitchen.

The living room / dining area opens out to a two tier deck and hot tub through the garden doors. We are in the process of creating a screened room from part of the deck and will be ready late 2022, and therefore ready for the 2023 season.

The property sits on the edge of the restricted area of Victoria Beach as well as the Walking /Cross Country ski trail network. In the spring, summer, and fall you park your car at your cottage, and head out the back of the lot and enjoy the Trail system and benefits of the restricted area. In the winter you ski from your back steps to the groomed trail system.

We were happy to find the kitchen to be fully stocked with good pans and sharp knives (which isn’t always the case with cabin rentals). We enjoyed the large table for both eating meals and playing board games. Most of us really enjoyed the hot tub. Beds were comfortable and clean. We made use of the skating rink and the kids enjoyed sledding at the CC at the end of the road. We had a good time. Except for one issue we had and it was a pretty big one. The temperature inside the cabin when we arrived was 15C. We loaded the wood stove right away & got a fire going. I checked the thermostat & it was calling for 20 ish. We found cool almost cold air blowing constantly from the vents for most of our stay which may be normal with heat pumps. I was up adding wood to the fireplace for extra warmth 3 times throughout the first night. We found the bedrooms very cool. I would recommend leaving all the doors open. The vents were blowing cool air almost nonstop even though the furnace was calling for heat. The fan was constant & was somewhat loud but got even louder when the heat pump was actually blowing heat. We sent a message to the hosts about a possible furnace issue midway through the 1st night. There was a warning on the thermostat saying something like the furnace was “trying to heat for 3 hours” they got back to us in the morning notifying us that “The longer cooler run time is common for heat pumps… The heat is defiantly working”. We will not be back, at least not in winter.

Wonderful place that was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. Cross country trails are just end of the backyard! Perfect place for skiing with nice hot tub.

Both Jack Pine and Old Oak were very clean with all the comforts of home. Newer appliances including washer and dryer. Everyone enjoyed the nature paths and hot tub. Lovely place to get away and highly recommend these comfy cottages.

This property is very well taken care of; clean, well stocked, tidy landscaping. It had everything we needed (and more!). The lawn games were so fun, the home was spacious and comfortable and of course we LOVED the hot tub!

This was such a wonderful place to celebrate my friend. Such a great yard and all the beds were super comfortable. A great kitchen fully stocked with everything you need and Marlene was amazing to communicate with. Very quick responses. I have already recommended this to others. Great location close walk to the beach and close drive to the center of the town.

The cabin was lovely with a well stocked kitchen that included spices. The bedding and beds were very very comfortable by all accounts. The attention to decoration details were lovely additions. No need to bring your own water, the tap water was amazing and a britta was provided in the fridge if you still felt you wanted to use it. We found it was not necessary. There was only one draw back to this property, and that was the property office was in our basement using a separate door next to our door. That made for a lot of coming and going at a cabin we thought we would be alone in. The sound traveled too easily for our comfort. Rental of bikes, Kayaks, and additional firewood on the other side of our fence was keeping the property busier than we would have liked. All in all, the host was very accommodating of our concerns, and anything we needed was looked after in a timely and respectful manner. This was a really nice property, but if you are looking for total quiet, this was not it unless you book in winter maybe...which looked amazing!

Such a great property!

The cabin was a great size for 9 people to live comfortably for the weekend! The kitchen was stocked with great tools and lots of plates, bowls, utensils and more. The fridge fit so much food, the dishwasher was so convenient. The property manager was so helpful, thanks Marlene! The gazebo was such a comfortable place to be, the hot tub and outdoor shower were amazing! The AC was so nice, it kept the whole place a comfortable temp when it was so hot outside! Overall an amazing stay, no complaints whatsoever!

Was perfect for our low-key cozy bachelorette party. The bunk beds were a fun touch. Had all the amenities we needed. Marlene was very communicative about rentals offered and set up our bike rentals for us. The dishwasher was nice and the hot tub was a great way to relax in the evening!

Great cabin get away

Had a lovely time with 3 families gathering at the cabin. It was clean and an amount of amenities. We enjoyed the area with walks, skiing and relaxing in the hot tub. Friendly service and communication.

We grew up in the Victoria Beach area. Our kids have grown up here as well. The property has been in our family for about 40 years. Victoria Beach is a unique area in all seasons, and has a great history. I hope to share some of the stories in the guest book you will find in the cottage. This is a great property for large groups. We've renovated with this in mind. Plenty of beds, and a well developed common area for people to spend time together. A few chairs in the larger bedrooms for those that want quiet time, or a spot to simply read a book.

In the Spring and Fall, there's nothing better than walks and hikes through the local trails. Crisp air, with the changing leaves, and the smell of fireplaces burning. These seasons often bring strong winds, and great storm watching on Lake Winnipeg. See the photos we have of the waves crashing over the pier. This is a fairly common occurrence when the fall winds are up.

Winter is my favourite season. So much to do. The Cross Country Ski trails are great. Groomed by a few generous volunteers, that have created a network of trails carved out of the forest. Ice fishing is everywhere. Huts can be rented for a relaxing day of fishing. Bring your snowmobile, or contact us to rent one. The snowmobile trails link to other areas, creating hundreds of miles of trials to explore. A tobogganing hill at the 4 season community center at the end of our street is great fun for the kids, along with a skating rink, curling rink, and event facility rentals for business meetings or family reunions / get togethers.

In the summer months, its great to be able to drive your vehicle to your cottage, while still taking full advantage of the Victoria Beach Restricted Area, which literally starts at the trail at the back of your cottage lot. Some of the amenities in the months of July and August in the Restricted Area of Victoria Beach include the Village Green Bakery, Victoria Beach Store, Moonlight Inn Restaurant, The Victoria Beach Club (with all of its great activities!!), the Pier for fishing and boating, Library, Taxi Service at the Parking Lot, Tennis Courts, 2 local area Golf Courses, Yacht Club, Several Beaches and the List goes on!
