Poorly Managed, Poorly Maintained
I wish I’d trusted negative reviews I’d read during my extensive research of properties to stay along the Oregon coast… my decision not to ruined our Spring Break.
The hot tub didn’t work, the furnace didn’t work and the unit had no heat, and the property manager not only failed to fix these things, but verifiably did less than they could have, and we were stuck with an unchanged massive rental fee.
The filter we used for choosing a location was homes with hot tubs, and that was the cover picture for this unit and the headline text, describing enjoying the ocean views from the hot tub on the deck. Days before our trip, after it was too late to cancel, Meredith Lodging told us the hot tub wouldn’t work, and we couldn’t cancel or get a refund. They didn’t proactively offer any sort of make good, and only after telling them this was unacceptable did they offer to refund the hot tub fee, a small fraction of the total we paid for a rental promoted as a hot tub haven. They told us, inaccurately, they’d do everything they could to fix. Repairman later told us they didn’t.
The unit was freezing cold, hovering at 50F. Turns out the furnace also didn’t work, so we spent our 1st night shivering in beds without enough blankets. They didn’t fix this during the stay, and we wore coats in the house.
Meredith Lodging can’t be trusted and poorly maintains their properties. This unit seems nice, but beware surprises await you. Reviews on other homes said this. I wish I’d listened.
