The location of the property is great—close to Broken Bow, and if being near the lake is your priority, Hochatown is definitely the better area to stay. The property itself is very large, although we only explored a small portion of it. One thing to note: the bridge leading to the pond can be a hazard—stay to the far right when crossing.Inside the house was very clean and well kept, which we appreciated. However, the exterior could use some attention. The Blackstone and grill were nearly out of propane, which meant we couldn’t finish cooking a meal. The firepit and horseshoe area also weren’t maintained—some of the chairs were burnt and unusable. These may seem like minor details, but when paying a premium price, they do matter. We also experienced a few issues inside the home. There were multiple large waterbugs (we killed eight over four days), and there was a wasp issue upstairs in one bedroom and bathroom. They appeared to be getting in from the roof, which made that bedroom unusable during our stay.On a lighter note, we did find a stray kitten that made itself at home under one of our cars—and it has since been adopted!Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and the potential of the property is definitely there. We would consider staying again if the above issues were addressed.
