She did it

Our daughter graduated from Hampton University and this place was not only accommodating,well maintained but more importantly it was conveniently located close to the university. 4 miles. Would stay again. Thx for having us

Our stay

Location was in an amazing location. The house was beautiful! The smell of trash when you opened the front door was awful. Also there was ants in the kitchen. Other than that it was a nice place.

Just what we needed!!

If I could rate this property 10 stars I would. the owner was extremely accessible and responsive to every need and inquiry. The property is extremely clean, well organized, and full of the amenities and supplies needed to make you feel at home. After a horrible experience at a different property this owner made sure that we were well taken care of during our stay. The property is located just minutes from beaches close to grocery stores and other shopping centers. If you would like to have the home away from home experience do not hesitate to rent this property.

So so

There was NO hot water, lighting very dim, and none of the televisions worked properly. We were expecting to be able to use the patio for games but the deck wasn’t open for use. Aren’t many dishes in the kitchen that is infested with flies. We expected more out of the trip due to the photos of the home.

From the Owner: "Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about the issues you encountered during your stay. We recently installed a new water heater in October 2024, and I have already contacted our home warranty company to have the installer return and inspect it to ensure everything is working properly. The outdoor deck is currently under construction and is not advertised as part of the property, but we understand this may have been disappointing.Our kitchen is stocked with dishes appropriate for the home’s occupancy, and all TVs are equipped with antennas for local channels and Roku streaming devices. Our team is always happy to assist if guests experience difficulties. We’re also addressing your note about flies with our cleaning team to ensure it doesn’t impact future guests. We truly appreciate your feedback as it helps us continue improving."

No Air

We showed up after driving 9 hours in 100 degree heat to no air. We had to get on the phone with the property manager and VRBO to get it situated. We were refunded, but it was very inconvenient looking for another place for 6 of us on short notice.

Hampton House

Our stay was okay but the house does need some repairs. The patio is in bad need of repair as well as the plumbing. Every time we flushed the toilets up stairs there was a loud rumbling in the house for a few minutes. This became quite annoying. Fixing those issues would get great and a refresh of the decore to bring the house up to date would make it a 5 out of 5 stars.

Nice house, bad service

The house is nice, updated. Trash pickup had been missed, founf 2 big barrels of trash already there. Smelled horrible every time the front door opened. Tried to have it removed. Was still there when we left. Also, lots of ants in the living room

Hi Carol, we want our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, and we apologize if you experienced some issues during your trip. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following: - Thanks for letting us know about the little ants you encountered. As you mentioned, this can be common in our area this time of year, but our cleaning team works hard to make sure that the home is free of any surprises. We also have ongoing pest control that manages and protects the home from these issues. - We apologize for the situation with the trash. We notified the cleaning company to remove the trash, considering the previous guests had created a lot and we had to wait until a specific trash pickup day to have the trash cans moved from the enclosed backyard to the curb. - Since the home is part of an HOA community, there is a community policy that requires we only have trash cans outside for trash pickup on specific days. We cannot place the cans outside in advance or we will be fined by the HOA and required to remove the trash cans. We always work with guests if issues arise. We truly go above and beyond for our guests, and we are confident that future guests will have excellent stays!

It was to quiet even a little scary.

I am a native New Yorker, when I left New York, I had been living in Yonkers, New York for many, many years. Its located in Westchester County. Its much more quieter than the city. Your area was to quiet for me. Other than how quiet it was we thought it was a beautiful neighborhood, the houses are too close but like I said a beautiful well kept neighborhood. I might would come again and I would recommend it to others we know if they are traveling in that area. Thank you so much for everything.

Convenient but…………

Was in Hampton for my son’s graduation. Property was very convenient to Hampton University. The cleaning crew did not do a very good job. Windowsill, baseboard, shower curtains were not clean. The outside trash cans were not emptied so we had to pile trash bags beside the cans. Parking was already limited but there was a large work trailer left in the driveway. It would have been nice to be able to go outside on the deck, but it was under construction.

We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:- We've replaced the prior Evolve cleaning partner to ensure a higher standard of cleanliness moving forward.- The shower liner has been replaced, and the cleaning team has addressed the windowsills, baseboards, and outdoor trash cans.- The listing notes that the driveway includes just one parking space, but visitor parking is available across the street and throughout the neighborhood.- The deck is not included in the home’s listing as it is currently under construction and not available for guest use.Thanks for taking the time to leave your review!

Okay

The property was not very clean when we arrived. There was trash under the beds in all the bedrooms. Sucker stick in the master bedroom on the carpet. Another kind of candy in another bedroom. There were ants in the twin bedroom window and the living room. The downstairs floor was really sticky. Also every time you flush the upstairs toilet the pipes rattle. Good part of the property was that is was close to Buckaroe beach.

Convenient

Convenient location for us, everything was exactly as shown in the pictures and clean. Finishes are starting to get worn down, it looks like it was bought in ~2009 and no maintenance has really happened since. All the smoke alarms are disconnected. There is no "ongoing construction" of the deck, it's just been abandoned and destroyed by the weather since then. So somewhat disappointing to have no access to outside. I understand that it was an Indian religious symbol for hundreds of years before WW2 and that's how it's being used here, but it's still a bit disconcerting to find several swastikas in the art of a rental property (they're in the listing photos if you look closely).

First - The positives: Close to the Beach, generally clean, and the beds were comfortable. We booked later in the season, so not much was available. The kitchen appliances seemed to be newer. The wi-fi wasn't working - when we called the contact, the issue was resolved quickly, by resetting the router. The toy train table for our two-year old guest was a plus. She loved it.Some of our negatives were not deal-breakers, but a matter of taste; however, we would not book here again. The entire place is very tired and needs a refresh. The decor was very mish-mash. Post-it note instructions and duct tape over light switches seemed to be very tacky. The wi-fi that wasn't working had to be reset again the next day. The kitchen pots and pans were the worst I've ever seen in a vacation rental. The frying pans were not usable and should be discarded and replaced. We did not realize until we received the actual address of the home that there would be only ONE parking space for your vehicle. Any other guests have to use visitor parking. We didn't test whether or not the limited visitor parking would be taken after dinner, but that could be a thing. The "lockbox" should be discarded and a door lock that uses temporary codes should be installed on the door. Keeping track of actual keys was a nuisance. It wasn't awful, but it wasn't the enjoyable or comfortable stay either.

Thank you for your detailed feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the beach proximity, comfortable beds, newer appliances, and that your little guest loved the train table! We’ve taken your comments to heart and made several improvements since your stay, including new window coverings, bedding, linens and towels, and an updated welcome book. We’ll also be discarding and replacing the pots and pans. We’ve created a backyard outdoor living space with a dining table and chairs, plus extra folding tables and chairs. A cooler is available for backyard or beach outings, with a new propane grill and fire pit coming soon. The Wi-Fi access point, which had been moved by a prior guest, is now properly located. Our listing notes one driveway space, with visitor parking nearby. We truly appreciate your feedback and hope you’ll consider staying with us again to enjoy the updates we’ve made.

Very accommodating home. Well taken care of.

Property is near everything and neiborhood is nice. Amit, the owner was very friendly when I needed to ask a question. We got in earlier that scheduled and both he and his cleaning service person Corwin got back to me immediately to assure me that the house was already ready to go in. That was Great because we were so tired after coming from so far.
