This is our second summer in the house and we did, unfortunately, note that compared to 2014, the property is more run-down and has not been maintained. While the home itself is lovely and spacious, it's not always comfortable. For instance, the living room with the TV/DVD, intended for family gathering and movie nights is furnished with white wicker. Our family had a hard time getting comfortable and settled on the traditionally outdoor furniture as its not meant for long periods of sitting (i.e. a 2-hour movie). The downstairs bathroom has a full tub, perfect for cleaning after a day at the beach. However, the pitch of the tub is straight; thus, it gets clogged/is very slow to drain so the person trying to get clean ends up standing in 3 inch. dirty/sandy water. A dishwasher is available (thank goodness), but it's "quirky" and if you don't stay around to start, stop, restart, stop, restart, stop... you come him from the beach to a load of dirty dishes. The cottage sleeps 11, but the washing machine is small and best serves 3-4 people. Overall, the best part of the home is the owner. We probably will not stay here again because the value simply isn't there. It's an expensive rental and we had to work very hard on our vacation (fighting with appliances, needing to call for TP, not being comfortable on furniture...) to relax. The property is about 4-5 city blocks to the beach and about 50-75 steps down to the sand. The house is in-between several stores; thus the traffic is somewhat congested. You will hear a train several times per day.
