The description reads as “house” but it is not the house. It is only the upstairs and there are tenants in the basement. The suite downstairs had a water issue so the tenants were not there but there were contractors in there working. I was told this the day before check-in when I had to contact the host to get check in instructions because they had not responded to my messages. This is how I found out it was not the whole house. I wanted to cancel because I was uncomfortable but they would not give me a full refund. I told them we would stay there if they could guarantee the workers would not be there when we were there and they agreed. Yet I was woke up our first morning (Wednesday) at 8 a.m. with them slamming the door, sawing, banging and talking in the basement (I have a voice recording). They were there again Friday when we were home and then Saturday there was someone down there at 7:30 pm (with no notice of them coming) (I have pictures). We left Sunday instead of Monday. We were to take out the garbage and recycling but could not open the gate on the side of the house despite numerous attempts so had to carry it down the public sidewalk to dispose of it. I understand that water issue was unforeseen but I should have been notified of the issue and given the option to cancel as they knew sometime before my check in. I would not stay there again due to it not being the whole house.
