If you’re looking for a getaway in nature this is a great spot. The 3-bedroom bungalow (plus pull-out couch) is clean, bug-free, air conditioned, and has a lovely front porch and screened-in porch. Plenty of good quality pots, appliances and kitchen needs. Nice fire pit 100m from the cottage. Well-stocked with board games. Fireflies came out at night! On our walks we saw many birds, frogs, and interesting insects. Having a newly-built place to come back to after exploring the trails is a nice balance. As is the case for many cottages there are poisonous plants on the property that we taught our kids to identify; the owners keep trails and grass well-groomed so if you stay on those you’re good. The owners are very transparent, communicative, flexible, and genuinely hope you’ll enjoy your stay. Nearby Madoc has a Foodland grocery store and splash pad/park, and O’Hara Mill was another great space for the kids. It’s much quieter than city life and if that’s what you’re after, you’ll enjoy your time here!
