Escape to Observatory Cottage, a charming three-bedroom holiday rental nestled in one of Leura’s most sought-after locations. Perfect for families or groups of up to seven guests, this cozy cottage offers a peaceful garden view from the balcony, providing a tranquil setting to relax and unwind.

The combined kitchen, dining, and lounge area is fully equipped with modern conveniences including an oven, cooktop, dishwasher, and complimentary Wi-Fi. Gather around the 32" TV or enjoy the warmth of the slow combustion wood fireplace, perfect for cooler months.

Leura’s inviting atmosphere, featuring boutique shops and laid-back cafes, is just moments away, making this the perfect base to explore the Blue Mountains. Two dedicated parking spaces are available on-site for your convenience.

Please note that Astro Tours are currently unavailable. The property is non-smoking and includes stairs, so it is not wheelchair accessible.

Lovely location and view, well equipped and pleasant house. Of note it’s very tight at the top of the driveway for larger cars - I managed to crush part of a small wall and damage my car by not paying enough attention at night. Grea5 place, recommend it.

We had a beautiful stay, quiet, cozy, beds were super comfortable and we slept well. Hosts were helpful and kind. Wish we could have stayed a week! Fantastic dinner at Elysian restaurant.

Great location got lots of visits from local birds

Overall very clean, had everything we needed for the two nights stay. some small cleaning issues, curtains and some untenciles, overall a good family getaway

Relaxing stay amongst nature

The property was unique, clean and comfortable. It was relaxing and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay at the house. A tip: It will be good to have some basic necessities supplied at least to start with. There was coffee, tea bags and sugar. Add salt and a little start up carton of maybe long life milk. Also a small shampoo and body wash (one of the tine ones) We do these respite stay every month and always have a start up supply and hence we did not have these and had to go shopping which is difficult if we arrive late. Having said that, it was a good experience Thanks for sharing your place.

this is a very quiet, private property set in the bush. It makes a great base from which to explore the Blue Mountains

We enjoyed our stay at the Observatory cottage, it was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the Observatory tour and due to the weather we were not able to view the stars but the virtual tour was great and they spent the time talking and answering questions

A perfect spot for a summer break

We had a much needed family break here. The house ideal for us - two parents and two high energy small boys - with a gorgeous view of Leura. Kitchen set up with everything we needed. Our tour of the observatory was magical and we recommend it. A small maintenance problem arose when we arrive and was resolved amazingly quickly. Thank you! We’ll be back :-)

Wonderful Experience!

We loved the Blue Mountains Observatory Cottage. It a was peaceful bushland setting and a convenient base to explore the Blue Mountains. The highlight of our stay was the Star Gazing experience, we were blown away by all the stars, galaxies and nebulas! Thank you to Arthur and Ben who made it so enjoyable and informative. We now have a budding 7 year old astronomer!

We all enjoyed our stay but we where charged $715 for two nights in the advertisements the charging was $300 per night. As much as we enjoyed our stay you might look into providing better mattress on the bottom bunk and the front room mattres. I all so believe that the kitchen needs some love and attention on the cleaning side. There also needs attention to the flooring as there where a few spots that the nail heads are sticking up. You might like the check that the cleaner is actually spending the payed time cleaning.

The additional astronomy experience is a must!

I was lucky enough to come across this gem whilst searching for an observatory in the Blue Mountains area. If I were to describe to someone not only the type of accommodation I was looking for but also the experience tied to it, this would be it. The cottage itself is flawless, amazing location, beautiful inside and out, very well maintained. Bundled with the stay is an astronomy tour, do yourself a favour and experience it! It is an additional investment, but well worth it. An observing experience like no other with a professional astronomer, you will both acquire a wealth of knowledge and be marvelled by the beauty of the cosmos. With out a doubt by far our most memorable stay from home.
