80th birthday party

We had a wonderful stay at Mallory Brook. The property is teeming with beautiful spots at every turn. Perfect for large family meals, group games inside and out and also for finding a quiet nook to read or relax in. Deana was very communicative, kind, thoughtful and accommodating for our very large group ranging in age from 5 to 80 years old. The house is stocked with games and any kitchen implement you could think of.

Lovely, charming house with glamping and hiking

We were seven friends in our late 40's/early 50's, plus an eight year old. We had a great time staying at Deanna's property and meeting her was the highlight. She took us on a tour of the property in her ATV when we arrived. It's a lovely spot and you can hear a brook running outside the house and front glamps. The kitchen is well outfitted and though it was a bit snug. we were able to cook big meals together in the kitchen. Our only issue is that the listing says there are four bathrooms, but there really are only two and one is accessible through the upstairs bedrooms. Thanks, Deanna!

So comfy, private and and fun place to stay

What a surprise! This spacious home was more than what we expected with a country feel and privacy and surprising touch of modern creature comforts all around the home/property that made our family stay so enjoyable. Interactive TV for the kids! Gas or electric heaters and wood pellet stoves and air purifiers on each floor, plus excellent home heating, Wifi everywhere, oh did I mention it's a 100yr + country home, so well kept. The owner was so accommodating and attentive to our needs and graciously gave us a tour of her vast property which includes trails, her comfy and all season well outfitted heated glamps(!) spread out on the property, which also included a hill which at the top offered a spanning view of the countryside and returning down hill to a home surrounded by a tranquil babbling stream. We loved it and will be returning soon! Thanks, Deane for everything!

Deana's place comfortably fit our big party. A total upgrade of camping experience. The glamps are comfortable and clean. Kitchen well equipped. We will definitely be back!

Older Waltonians return again to Mallory Brook

This our third stay at Mallory Brook. As always we had a great time there. One suggestion...ask guests to bring in outside deck chair cushions at night or when it rains.

Christmas Stay

We had a great time staying at Deana's home for Christmas. The house overlooks a beautiful stream with waterfalls, and we enjoyed taking winter hikes in the woods behind the house. The house itself has everything you could possibly need. It was especially cozy watching the snow falling outside, while we sat nice and warm inside. Deana was quick to answer any questions, and made us feel very welcome. We hope to return soon!

Unique stay, excellent location

Deana was a great host. Very responsive and friendly. Shared some ideas around the area we could check out. Property has hilly hiking trails in the back. The house has everything you could ever ask for and then some. The listing's pictures might be outdated, though we enjoyed our stay.

Lovely, relaxing getaway

Sitting alongside a brook, with buckets of land to explore, this house is perfect if you're looking for a relaxing getaway. There are breath-taking views on the property and the house itself is spacious, comfortable, and warm, with lots of amenities to keep you entertained. We also appreciated the well-stocked kitchen. Deanna was a great host. We hope to return in the summer.

Excellent house on beautiful property

We stayed here on Halloween weekend to get away from the city during Covid 19. The house was clean, comfortable, warm and cozy. There are many helpful signs around the house explaining how to use various appliances or control the heat. Deana was very communicative and gracious and ensured all our needs were taken care of. We didn’t have a chance to use the glamps, but they are another interesting option to explore on this property. The true appeal, however, is the gorgeous property complete with hiking trails, streams and waterfalls. We took a long hike throughout the property and then settled in for a game night. Don’t miss out on this one.

Magnificent Mallory Farm

One word describes our stay at Mallory Farm. Perfect. Everything was as described and pictured. Only much more so. The updated farm house; charming, comfortable, well stocked with anything you might think of, often in triplicate. Super comfortable beds and bedding. High speed internet, Amazon Alexa, and other modern electronic necessities all provided. Impeccably clean. Gourmet kitchen with a huge assortment of top shelf cookware. The 105 acre grounds, beyond bucolic. Firepit, Adirondack chairs, hammocks, burbling brook with waterfall, hiking trails. The surrounding countryside an Upstate New York dream. Rolling hills, farms, cattle, woods and lakes. But the best was the host Deana. A lovely, gracious, and helpful host. She gave true meaning to the word hospitality. Am I gushing? Can’t help it. I’m a hard to please person. And pleased hardly describes our experience at Mallory. Summation: Pros- Dozens. Cons-We had to go back home.

This place is amazing! Deanna was so sweet and welcoming to my group. We'll definitely return!

The house is super comfortable, charming, and perfect for a group trip. Our guests also fell in love with the glamping areas! The property is extensive and offer some peaceful views of the mountains all around. The beds were comfy, the kitchen was stocked (we even baked cupcakes), the hammocks and porch offered fantastic spaces for relaxing. The location is a tad bit far from NYC, but the drive there was beautiful and we got a wonderful feeling of being away from it all, and there are so many fun, outdoorsy things to do nearby. Deanna answered tons of questions ahead of time, and made me feel at ease in her warmth and efficiency. She's thought of everything! This place is a real FIND, I almost hate to share it with anyone else! Will definitely be coming back. Thanks again Deanna!!

Lovely, tranquil home under the stars

What a wonderful few days we had at Deana’s place. The house sits in a valley and has beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. Deana welcomed us and gave us a tour of her well-cared-for property. We enjoyed walking the steep trails behind the house. Such amazing views! Our toddler was delighted to see the frogs and to play in the stream. We enjoyed the fire pit and ample space to stretch out both in the sunshine and when it rained a bit. The kitchen is very well stocked and the fancy oven was a particular treat for me since I enjoy cooking. Everything was easy to find and to use and the wifi was excellent. We had a truly delightful stay.

Just perfect

Honestly, this could not have been a better stay. We had a lovely time. The house was perfect, charming, comfortable, and brimming with amenities (including an awesome outdoor sound system, three grills, two glamps, and lots outdoors to explore). Our 10 year old son was in heaven. Deana was super accommodating and helpful. It would be great for a small family or a bigger party. We hope to come back yearly (if not even more often).

perfect stay

As many wrote below, this house was absolutely perfect for our group. My brother was getting married at nearby Maple Shade Farms and it was close to the venue and the perfect place to get ready before the big day and my brother and his groomsman to take photos beforehand. The house was big and had clear instructions how to make sure we took care of everything. The best thing was Deanna who helped with our last minute request to arrive early so we could be sure to soak up every minute of a wonderful wedding weekend!

I am a Missouri native that currently splits time between New York city and the Catskill region where this home is located. I've been active in the upstate NY area for over 10 years now and in NYC for over 15 years now. Previously lived in Houston 13 years, have lived in Seattle; Berkeley, California; Germany and a number of other places. I've been a software and business process consultant for over 25 years so being on the road is business as usual for me. My clients related work has caused me to spend extended time in a lot of states in the US as well as Canada and Germany. I enjoy meeting people from all around the world. My undergraduate alma mater is University of Texas -Austin (go longhorns, no Texas A&M aggies allowed) :) , while my graduate school alma mater is UC Berkeley. Through my university and working years, I have met so many amazing people who like me, love the outdoors and love meeting people from all walks of life. I'm into hiking, traveling, cooking, golfing (although I suck at it, I have fun), and networking and learning about the history of the various towns and cities I travel to. I've assembled all of my adventure 'bucket list' items on this farmhouse property including nice gardens, fire pits, hiking trails, glamping pads, ATV trails, apple and peach trees, scenic vista/sitting areas, essentially a long list of fun things to relax and do while taking in the great outdoors. Very happy to be able to share the experience with travelers looking for a unique experience in the Catskills.

This property beyond its natural beauty of the waterfalls, trails and meadows in located in a perfect spot in the Catskills.
We offer 4 separate unique outside terrace spaces in addition to housing accommodation so that you can enjoy a group dinner under the stars, movies under the stars, or even get married or celebrate a milestone event within our adjacent event venue space.
It's a 10 to 15 minute drive to Delhi which has nice restaurants and a golf course. And its close to really quaint beautiful surrounding towns including Andes and Margaretville. Hamden itself is a really cute town with a covered bridge, and an amazing farm store called Hamden General Store, and a awesome 'farm to table' restaurant called Hamden Inn (across the street) that has amazing food, and is like walking back in time. Additional cool things about the property is that in the fall the property's apple trees are fun to take advantage of, and there is a huge pumpkin farm a short walk away. Other notables things in the area is Cooperstown with the baseball hall of fame is within an hour's drive, and Roscoe which is the fly fishing capital of NY is 30 minutes away. Essentially there is so much to do from hiking, canoeing, fishing, antiquing, exploring food, there's a really cool cave called Howe's Cavern within an hour's drive that has a tour that includes a boat ride through a underground canal. No limit to the list of amazing things to explore. One last very interesting thing on the property is that it has an early 1800s wood cook stove which I've perfected cooking in, only after having burned many a pie in the oven as I was learning the trick of needing to rotate the food since the fire/heat flows left to right. The old timers understood this, but for those of us used to new stoves, its an interesting twist to cooking.
