The Gardeners Cottage in Saint Andrews New Brunswick is a home that's both historic and one of a kind. Listed in the Canadian Registry of Historical Places and designed by the prominent Canadian architects the Maxwell brothers.This historic building was built for F.W. Thompson the Ogilvie wheat baron as part of the stables and carriage house. The Gardeners Cottage was home to the estates groomsmen and gardeners.
Located below the Algonquin Hotel and all its amenities and close to Katy's Cove for swimming and relaxing. The property is one of the largest in town with century old gardens and apple orchard. Enjoy a leisurely drink on the deck or have a BBQ and enjoy the privacy of the acreage.
The rooms are set up for a comfortable nights sleep whether with family or friends sharing the rooms or indulging in solo slumbers on the queen beds. The efficient bathroom has the original claw foot tub for a lazy soak or shower. Newly renovated kitchen will have every amenity you will need.

The property was clean and comfortable and in a very beautiful and peaceful setting. The location was quiet, but close to all of the attractions and amenities in St. Andrews.

This is a beautiful location! A mix of modern and antique home is to dream for. We loved our stay. Rob and Thor were great communicators and set us up well for a wonderful stay. St Andrew’s is also a beautiful town with lots of history. If you are staying for an event at the Algonquin Resort, this Vrbo is so close it’s about a three minute stroll. I was sad to go so soon and hope to return shortly! Thank you, Rob and Thor!

We absolutely loved our stay here. This historic carriage house had everything — an old world feel, beautifully decorated; comfortable and with every modern convenience. The kitchen was great — everything we needed. We brought our dog and loved the feel of being in the country, though we were a walk to restaurants and shops and the Van Horne biking trails were just a few blocks away. We sat on the deck many evenings and watched deer on the expansive lawn. We especially appreciated the bedroom air conditioning during a hot few weeks in July. The owners were lovely, generous and responsive. We’re already planning our next visit.

Wonderful host with a cozy home in a stunning town

So many beds and so much room to explore outside. We kept our kids busy in the neighborhood during the day and came back to a well equipped kitchen to prepare our evening meals.Thor, one of our hosts, was gracious and accommodating whenever we had a question!

Historic gem

Wonderful stay! The space was comfortable, spacious and well stocked in the kitchen with all the utensils and gadgets you could need. The property was large and gave space for the kids to run and play. The location os ideal- minutes from the Algonquin, downtown, ministers island amd katys cove. Thor and Rob were spectacular hosts and super responsive. Hope to stay again!

Our family of 6 (furries includes) cannot say enough wonderful things about our time here. Rob and Thor went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, making our getaway completely seamless. Beyond the outstanding hospitality, the surrounding setting is stunning. Having nature right outside the door and waking up to deer grazing in the backyard each morning was an absolute treat. Thank you, Rob and Thor, for creating such a special and restful place—we can’t wait to return!

Location was great, place was quiet, beautiful yard, lots of space. Beds were very comfortable, only one bathroom which could be a challenge for a big group, we survived. Great water pressure. Only thing I would recommend is to remove some of the clutter in the TV area, example green rug on the couch and the picture was a little dark and stormy. Kitchen was well equipped, clean and presented nicely. Any questions I had, the host responded promptly. Thank you.

Une place à découvrir

L’emplacement est enchanteur avec le terrain vaste et la nature environnante. Magnifique maison ancestrale avec un cachet unique. Nous avons adoré St-Andrews et cette maison fait partie integrante de son patrimoine bâti. Je recommande vivement à tout ceux qui veulent vivre Saint-Andrews à 100% Vous ne sereuz pas déçus !

Charmante propriété

Belle maison ancienne située dans un secteur calme et paisible avec en prime de charmants chevreuils (inoffensifs) se baladant chaque jour sur le terrain. De très jolis chambres avec des lits très confortables et une cuisine très bien équipée. Le seul bémol, je dirais, c’est qu’il y a une seule salle de bain, ce qui étonne pour une maison de quatre chambres et de plus, la baignoire à l’ancienne est difficilement accessible pour des personnes plus âgées. C’est un critère à considérer. Le propriétaire est accueillant et à l’écoute. Je recommande donc cette location.
