My family and I had a wonderful time at the home. Pamela and John were wonderful folks that really cared about our comfort and well being. The home is a bit older, which we were perfectly ok with, gave it some character, and was close to the beach. Waimanalo Beach is not a tourist beach, so there's plenty of space for everyone and it's quiet. It's all sand for as far as the eye can see, in any direction, beautiful. The house has boogey boards, beach chairs, coolers, and just about anything else you would need for an enjoyable day at the beach, and it's a 2 minute walk from the house. The house itself is older, but very well kept, and John keeps the lot clean. The birds are singing when you wake up in the morning, and again later in the day as the sun goes down, can't beat it. The area the house is in has a lot of vegetation, there really isn't a lawn, just big beautiful trees and a lot of greenery. As in any other hot environment, gecko's are everywhere, and there can be lot's of bugs, which Pamela mentioned to us ahead of time. In the two weeks we were there, we never saw or had any problems with bugs of any kind, in the house. Plenty of gecko's outside, which we found quite amusing. The two bedrooms have real comfy Queen beds and are air conditioned, the rest of the house has fans to keep air constantly circulating. We were there on vacation, so we didn't use the TV or the living room much, but the TV was pretty new and it had a good amount of channels to keep anyone occupied. One of the bedrooms has a modern desk, which I used quite a bit as I was working during the vacation. WiFi is excellent, no issues there. My family left about 5 days before I did, as I had to work. I was there during Hurricane Lane, and I have to say that Pamela was an outstanding host checking in at all times to make sure I was ok. To be cautious, she put me up in a hotel for the two days that were the most dangerous, and I checked myself out when the storm had subsided because I wanted to go back to the quaint home, that I had enjoyed so much. Overall, I can't say enough good things about Pamela and John. I would definitely recommend the home as a place to stay in Oahu, if you don't want to be in the middle of the city or surrounded by tourists. It's a 30 minute drive to Honolulu or Waikiki, well worth the trip and the scenic views.
