Nestled into the hillside, up a steep driveway is a beautiful Tuscan style stone dwelling that is spacious and airy. In a downstairs apartment (there is an upstairs apartment onsite) you will find one queen bed in a separate bedroom, and an adjoining open plan office that accommodates a bunk bed (double below, single above). Perfect for families or good friends. A separate living space with amble couches and games to share, with a small kitchenette off to the side. There is a private yard/ court yard outside that perfectly accommodates children playing on the grass, or for warm evenings enjoy a glass of wine outside under the grape vine!

I visited Castlemaine for social weekend away with a friend. This apartment always clean and comfortable and close to local attractions. The host is just lovely – friendly, responsive and available and was even kind enough at one point to give us a ride to where we were going in her car when we were running late! I’d definitely stay here again.

The place was a bit cold and while the lounge area could be heated up the bed room and bath room where cold. Lighting was average. The TV only had limited channels that we could find. Some of the cook ware was getting a bit old and the fire blanket and fire extinguisher are in the wrong place. The bedding was clean and the bed good, the place does have character and the out side space would be good in warm weather. Communication with host was good. Just not sure it is a place for colder weather
If you have a fat fire you cannot get to the fire blanket or extinguisher

Lovely stay at Castlemaine

My family and I had a short stay over the Christmas period. The unit was very clean and comfy and we loved how close it was to the centre of Castlemaine. We had a really lovely stay.

We were out during each of the 4 days we were there, but the garden are looked very nice.However the driveway was a nightmare and we had to negotiate the curve with 2 “back & fill” when driving to the door to drop our luggage.We parked 1/2 way up the drive in the guests’ area because part of our stay there were other people parked at the top. Just as well it wasn’t raining, in which case we would have gone elsewhere.At the bend in the drive on the road side there is a precipitous drop, so really this place is only suitable for small cars.

I appreciate that it may require a deep breathe to navigate this rural/ CBD Castlemaine driveway experience. I also dearly hope you received my messages about the extra cars being in the upstairs area due to the State festival being held over the weekend that you stayed. It was an especially busy weekend in Castlemaine’s calendar. Lovely family break away

We had a great stay in the house. Great communication from the host. My primary aged boys loved the bunk beds and the toys available. Good location.

Excellent Accomadation a short stroll from town

Thankyou so much for having us. we had an amazing stay in Castlemaine. I walked to the accomadation from the train but my friends had no problem parking. This apartment is a short walk from town. excellent location and a great property
