We ended up staying at a different property by the same hosts but I can’t rate that one because the app won’t let me.

The view and location of this property on Lake Lure are 5-star; the property itself doesn't quite live up to 5 stars. While we thoroughly enjoyed our time on the lake, the home lacks a few basic comforts: the TVs are quite small, the kitchen is missing some essential cooking items (and we had to wash dishes before using them), and there is very little outdoor furniture to comfortably enjoy the deck and dock. It’s a great spot for the location alone, but a few small updates and better kitchen supplies would make the stay much more enjoyable.

Overall the house was very clean and working with the management team was great. Only two complaints. The outside lights down to water did not work so going down at night was an issue. We reported this but they did not fix the lights. They have a ant problem in the kitchen and upstairs deck which we reported and they gave us ant spray which we used on the outside but you can’t use that on the inside. Please be aware of all the stairs from road down to house, and the inside house stairs. We are older so this presented a problem with luggage and groceries. On a positive note, the view is incredible and the bear decor is great.
