This was our first trip to Lake Anna and we had a wonderful time! It comfortably accommodated our group of 10. We brought blow up beds to use in the basement and it was great (there's a sleeper sofa in the basement and one on the main level, but I find them uncomfortable). If you sleep in the basement, the windows aren't covered, so we used temporary paper shades from Amazon. The basement is awesome! There's a pool table that converts to ping pong. The TV is gigantic. There's a tall table with bar stools and what looked to be a poker table in a zip up bag (we didn't use that) and a dart board. There's a large table full of trains, box of barbies and baby dolls with tons of accessories (my 3-year-old twins loved these), a box of fire trucks, dump trucks, diggers (they also loved), a shelf with books, games and other toys. The washer and dryer is in the basement and works great. There's a full bathroom on each level of the house which was nice! Don't bother using the shower on the main level because it was underwhelming. The shower in the basement is amazing, though!
The kitchen has so many things! There's a drawer full of plastic dishes for kids, tons of utensils, coffee mugs, wine glasses, a muffin tin, mixing bowls, serving platters, glass casserole dishes, and more. The dining table was great for all of us for meal times and we loved eating on the screened in porch too.
There was a collection of games including Cranium, Skip-bo, Scrabble, Dominoes, a deck of cards, puzzles, and more. These were nice on the day it rained.
Finally, the lake access was incredible! There were 46 steps to the lake from right outside the front door. We did multiple day stand up paddle board and canoe rentals from Lake Anna Outfitters (Chris delivered). We kept them right on the sand and didn't worry because the property is so private. There is one other boat house next to the beach but we only saw those neighbors once. By the way, their names were Jeff and Leanne, long time locals, who told us a bunch of history about the area and were great to talk to.
Ryann was quick to respond to my questions before our stay. I was initially scared off by the $800 deposit but loved the house from the pictures and wanted to give it a try. We were careful to take care of everything while we were there and I expect a expect a return, but will update this review if that's not the case. Don't hesitate to rent this house! We would love to stay there again. Thanks for a great experience!
