To start, I have to say the property is very well maintained and spotless. The communication is my issue, quick to reply (AI) but could not give relevant replies/resolve issues, and would direct you to an agent to contact you but they never did. I can see it working some time in the future with more fine tuning but definitely not advanced enough at this time to handle guest issues. Also, it is a good half hour walk from city center, and in Salaburg the hotel is supposed to give you bus pass, but when I requested, the system could not "understand my request". Also, other hotels usually get your room ready even before the check in time vs here the room was ready later than check in time.

At the time of booking, I did not realize that this property had no check in staff on site. I received multiple emails from them, through Expedia, asking for payment of the city tax, which I did not pay because Expedia cautions against that. I finally got a check in email which I attempted to do but couldn’t because the process involved scanning of our passports. Upon arriving at the site, we were lucky in that someone coming out let us in. There in the entry, we could use a QR code to download the app and complete all of the required steps to check in and get a pin to give us access to our room. The room was fine and communication through WhatsApp was fine. There were just a lot of unexpected steps.

Air conditioning and comfortable beds but problems

Firstly, there is bike storage in a lockable bike shed inside the underground garage. I have no idea why they could not answer this question despite it being asked several times. No surprise that we were the only two bikes stored in the garage. Secondly, I find it rude and incomprehensible that we are told there is work going on in the ground floor after we have paid and no longer refundable. This work has clearly been going on for quite a while and furthermore, work was going on way past midnight and kept us awake with banging going for the three nights we were there. At first we thought it was a noisy guest upstairs but the thuds were in groups of four and it was loud. It kept us awake. The rooms were fine if a little cramped but other than that and the multiple times you need to remember your four digit code to enter the lift, room, entrance, washing room etc., it was well equipped and well designed, one quilt and two pillows each. ok storage if you do t have large suitcases.

In terms of hotel quality, everything was fine. Clean room and actually a nice hotel. What we didn’t like is there were no staff on the property - so the check in process was completely done by phone. When we approached the property, it was close to 100F (38C) and couldn’t get inside without checking in and receiving our passcode. Afterwards, we had to pay 10 or 20Euro for “early check in.” As soon as I paid the fee, I got a notification saying “your room is ready” almost immediately - meaning that it was ready to begin with. That felt like a cheap move. We found the digital / no contact / staffless method more problematic than convenient. I likely wouldn’t stay here again, but if you don’t mind the no-contact method then it’s a perfectly good hotel.

Although there's no reception, the check in and check out was seamless and the guests is taken care of through communication via the messages. The nearest Billa supermarket was a plus and the bus stop just infront of the property. Aircon was not really cooling. Too bad for the scorching heat of Salzburg in July during our stay

NUMA is a budget friendly hotel that la ks all personal assistance from hotel staff. People frequently sat on the steps right inside the entry door, which we used our code to get in each time. Our code worked for the room door, too. This property has AC and an ele ator which was grest. It is nesr Billa grocery stor and Fuxm restaurant is across the street.
