Beautiful house with spectacular views and infinity pool. Very private, no other guests or sharing anything. This is something else. Villa Vetteglia is built on a hilltop, the views are truly 360 degrees. 3 bed and 3 bath. The location is private and remote yet close to Lucca, Pisa and Florence. Bagni di Lucca (for shopping) is 7km. About the location, it is on a asphalted mountain road, but see the pics before you make a booking :)

The space:
Living room with TV (no cable / satellite, only DVD). There are 3 bedrooms. One with a big double bed, the others with single beds (that can be put side to side if wished) Also 3 bathrooms with shower, toilet, sink. Washing machine, kitchen with dishwasher, oven, fridge, freezer, gas cooker. Central heating in all rooms. Bed 7/8 is a double pull out bed with proper mattresses (160x200) and is in the living room.

Outside area with infinity pool (8x4 meter, not heated) multiple terraces, 6 sun loungers at the pool and private carpark for 4 cars.

In peak season we only rent out the house for full weeks from Saturday till Saturday. Outside peak season the minimum stay is 4 nights. The house and pool is all yours, nothing to share with anyone else.

The area is in the Lima Valley which is part of the Apuan Alps. It it a truly special area with lot's of animals. If you like hiking, there are countless walks to be done. From quite easy to proper mountain climbing.

For the cultural side of things there is Lucca with its medieval wall around it that you can walk (or bike!) Pisa (easiest access by plane) Florence and Barga. Besides that there are many smaller villages to be explored. Montefegatesi is one of them and is just a 10 minute drive and is famous for it's beautiful position on a mountain top and it's statue of Dante (you can walk / climb to the statue, leave your car outside the village as the road is too narrow to drive on)

Bagni di Lucca and Fornoli both have a supermarket and some nice restaurants as places for take away pizza (20 minute drive from the house) On the way to Lucca is a very big Esselunga supermarket that has everything you could wish for. Very good fresh vegetable, fruit, meat and fish selection as well.

For those interested in some background info:
To build the house was a real challenge. Below the house is an old ruin. Because of that ruin it was allowed to build a new house at that same spot. But the spot where the ruin is doesn't have the spectacular views. After a lengthy procedure (years) finally we got the green light to start building on the desired spot. Which gave new challenges since the hilltop where the house is now wasn't suited as building land. It took a lot of planning and landscaping to build the house in its current position. Same for the pool, that took another year, but the spot where it is now is the only right spot so it was worth the wait. The acces road was the last hurdle. This was a horrible dirt road. It was maintained, but it wasn't that much fun to drive on. The permission to put asphalt in took 2 years to get (Italian style I guess) but we ended up with an acces road that anyone can negotiate. All in all the whole build from start to finish took 7 years. But now even the Italians come over to have a look and are amazed with the views and the house.

Guest acces:
Guests have full acces to the complete house and the private pool. The parking is private as well. The acces road has been specially created for the house. The only other people using that road are some local farmers and a shepherd.

Other things:
The last 300 meters to the house was a dirtroad and has been asphalted for this project. Now any car can drive on the road, but of course it's still a mountain road. I made a video of the road to the house. After booking I will send this to you by email so you know exactly if it's okay for you.
