Hakuna Matata is wonderful for a romantic couple or a young family, both ready to escape and have quality time together. Leave everything digital behind and reconnect with each other immersed in tranquil nature off the beaten track. African themed Hakuna Matata is stylish, beautiful and cosy with lots of safe space for children and dogs to run and roam in the surrounding fields and woods. Have fun in your wood-fired-hot tub, play games by the wood burner, tell stories by the fire-pit, stargaze in the dark sky or swim and fish in the river, you are off-grid and planet-friendly but have all the privacy, style, luxury and amenities you need for a truly memorable time together.

Really special place, great for kids, walkers, birdwatchers, exhausted parents…

Amazing location, masses of space to roam and for kids to be free range in privacy and safety. Shops and a great cafe over a couple of fields (walking distance). Lodge itself lovely, hot water, small but effective kitchen, comfy beds, wood burner, BBQ. Fantastic decking to sit and watch the sun go down. Host always available to explain/help with how things work in the lodge (eg charging lamps and phones).

A piece of tranquillity and exploration

I spent 5 nights with my teenagers at Hakuna Matata and within minutes of arriving, I had unwound. The feeling of being off the grid in a little world of our own was amazing. The lodge is very reminiscent of Africa and Iain and Milly have put a lot of thought into creating this idyllic place. It's a bit more than glamping - wonderful views, walks & river, nearby, perfectly appointed and we were well looked after by Iain and Milly - we felt so at home. Thanks to you both!

The space to fully relax

We absolutely loved our stay at the Hakuna Matata lodge. The lodge is an amazing, unique place to stay and has all you need to be comfortable. We found it the perfect place to totally relax as the space means we didn’t need to tell the kids and dog to be quiet, yet a pub is a short walk away. We loved looking at the stars while keeping warm by the fire pit, and there are plenty of places to visit nearby to keep the kids entertained. Thanks again for making us so welcome too Iain!

Very peaceful & beautiful lodge!

We had the best time doing nothing as a family in this stunning place! We enjoyed playing the games provided while lounging in the comfy chairs on the decking. The fire pit was used every evening roasting marshmallows. The shower was great and we all slept well in comfortable beds. Iain and Milly were fantastic hosts and only a call away with anything we needed. The view was spectacular and all ours too! Thank you both for creating & sharing such a special place. We would love to return!

We are Milly and Iain. This is our family farm and we have built everything ourselves. We love the Teme Valley and we have found that we love sharing our little bit of heaven with you, our guests. We are surrounded by sheep, fields, wildlife, woods and the Teme River. We are very proud of what we will be sharing with you.

Our family live here with Milly’s parents and Iain’s Dad living here too. So alongside ourselves you will have plenty of people around to make your stay perfect. Ella and Cassie our friendly dogs will be particularly keen to meet you, especially if you have children with you. Throw a ball and they are entertained for the day!

Full of authentic African cloth, colours and artefacts, and with style, comfort and luxury in mind.

There is glamping and then there is this! Our Safari Lodge is very precious and made with love by Iain and Milly who have put heart and soul into this wonderful space.

Set at the bottom of the astounding Teme Valley, this is the 'Hidden England' of ancient woods, hedges, valley fields, wildlife, a fish-filled river, the famous Shelsley Walsh Auto Hill Climb, Witley Court and often dark star-filled skies. And only a six minute river-walk away is a pub, farm and coffee shops, plus hairdressing, therapy and craft studios.
