Deze afgelegen hut met 3 slaapkamers heeft alles wat u nodig heeft voor uw perfecte Louisiana-uitje. Geen verkeer, lawaai of mensen. De accommodatie ligt op 220 hectare grenzend aan de Bogue Chitto National Wildlife Refuge, en biedt zoetwatermeren, een strand en meerdere routes voor een mooie ochtendwandeling. Gasten hebben gemakkelijk toegang tot de BCNWR voor de jacht, evenals kano's, kajaks en een waterfietsen voor het water. We hebben hier bosbessen, whitetail-herten en kippen die verse tuineieren leveren.

We leven op het terrein met onze twee honden, 6 kippen, 1 kat en onze kudde whitetail herten. Blueberry-seizoen is van eind mei tot half juli en valt samen met het reuzenseizoen voor het hert. Ga voor meer informatie over de BCNWR naar:

Er is een bootlancering met een twee-bay-botenhuis beschikbaar als u uw boot mee wilt nemen.

We zijn beschikbaar voor elke behoefte die zich tijdens uw verblijf voordoet. We kunnen de koelkast bewaren met alles wat u nodig hebt bij een vooraankondiging. Verse eieren zijn gratis, evenals koffie, thee en andere specerijen.

Another wonderful stay with Bill and Karen on their lil piece of heaven on earth. We celebrated my birthday and July 4th 250my whole family had a great time, we enjoyed canoeing, Kayaking and swimming in the lake, nature walks and feeding the deer, watching World Cup and playing BINGO during the afternoon thunderstorms. Looking forward too our next visit!

Just as described and the perfect location for our family reunion. We rented two of the cabins, the three bedroom and the tiny cabin, and it worked out great. Love the location and the seclusion in the woods. Great stay - thank you!

Amazing stay at this peaceful deer farm in the woods! The house was spotless and cozy, the host was kind and welcoming, and the kitchen was clean and well-equipped. Loved that it’s pet-friendly, and the included kayaks experience was a perfect, relaxing bonus. Highly recommend!

Enjoyed our stay. Perfect meeting location for our multi-location family. Cooked all meals for our weekend. Kitchen is generously appointed. The weather was amazing for outdoor activity. Loved the deer. Loved the blueberry fields. My daughter's mini dachshund had a big time! Will visit again!

This place is definitely one of the most unique VRBOs we’ve ever rented. Our family of five had the best time on this property: we hand-fed deer literally from the back yard, kayaked the canal, explored the property on the golf cart and on the numerous walking trails, spent a day relaxing and fishing at the lake on the private beach, and spent our time at the house playing basketball, corn hole, and making fireside smores. The property was surprisingly stocked with all you need in the kitchen, and Bill and Karen were very kind and accommodating. We can’t wait to come back. Lots of memories made! Thanks for a great week!

We had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The space was extremely comfortable, making it easy to relax and unwind. The setting was peaceful and quiet, yet there was no shortage of things to do. What truly made the stay exceptional was the host’s graciousness and hospitality. Abita Fall Fest

Great place to stay. Was in Abita Springs for the Fall Fest and chose to stay here. Did not spend much time at the house due to a busy schedule but would definitely come back and highly recommend for a getaway.

Anniversary trip

The pictures of the cabin do it no justice.the cabin is much nicer than the pictures can describe.great nature trails,boat launch and beach.loved picking blue berries as the birds were chirping at sunrise and loved getting to feed the deer.great price also and Mr.Bill his wife and sister are awesome host.will definitely be back.

Beautiful property to spend a calm weekend away from New Orleans

Our family had a wonderful time picking blueberries and exploring the wooded paths in the "golf cart". We had fun canoeing and cooking smores on the firepit, such a fun relaxing weekend!

Wonderful family getaway!!

We went to meet family and celebrate a couple of birthdays. The cabin was perfect. I would recommend this rental to anyone seeking peace and quite away from the city. It was wonderful.

Relaxing and Secluded

We had a great time! The cabin was adorable and being able to see the deer every morning and evening was awesome! We had fun fishing and riding/walking the numerous trails along the lakes. Great place to relax!

Karen and Bill have been married for 33 years, raising 4 children who have left the nest and the payroll. Bill has retired and they have moved back to the farm to raise chickens, deer and blueberries. We enjoy the outdoors and meeting new guests.

I bought this property when I was in college as an original 22 acre property at the end of the road. I added another 18 acres in 1981 and another 350 acres in 1996. After selling some acreage in 1998 we ended up with 220 acres. We met on the property back in 1987 while water skiing. I built the log cabin in the early 80s and converted it to the VRBO unit in 2019.

Wat deze accommodatie uniek maakt

Secluded with no noise, no neighbors and no traffic. You want to get away from it all and enjoy the solitude of nature, this is the place for you. Our chickens provide fresh eggs for your enjoyment while here. You can help us feed the deer if you are here during feeding time. Pick fresh blueberries for your breakfast during the season. In early spring, enjoy the new green growth on the cypress and oak trees and other plants as you walk along the many trails we have. Also in early Spring, watch as the Swallow Tail Kites return from their stay in South America and make their nests on the property. One of the most graceful birds you will ever see soar over the fields and the ponds/lakes. The hummingbirds also return at around the same time. Late April brings the extraordinary display the fireflies put on during their mating season. Literally hundreds of fireflies are found with their glows in sync on certain evenings after dark. Truly an amazing site to see. In mid May through July, the deer are having their fawns which is another exciting time on the farm. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, enjoy the water sports on the waters around the property. Fall brings with it the colors of the cypress and maple trees changing to burn orange and red. As a special treat for those who book stays of 4 nights or more, enjoy a complimentary Blueberry Crostata, Bill's favorite blueberry dessert, topped with Bluebell Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream. It's to die for. Also included is a complimentary bottle of wine of your choice. Let us know if you like white or red.
