Aloha! Welkom bij Hale Ma'kai (huis aan zee), mijn tropisch vakantie-appartement met één slaapkamer in het Kihei Akahi-complex in het zonnige Kihei. Het is de perfecte plek om uw vakantie in Maui door te brengen. Hale Ma'kai is een ruime (696 SF) flat op de begane grond met een Lanai die uitkomt op een groot grasveld. Het is ingericht met een tropische inrichting en gevuld met speciale details om een ontspannen verblijf op de zuidelijke zee thuis weg van huis te bieden.

UPDATES. De full-sized keuken en badkamer zijn bijgewerkt met nieuwe kasten, apparatuur en afwerkingen. De woonkamer heeft meerdere malen een nieuwe bank en vloerbedekking gehad. In 2015 zijn nieuwe, stille, energiezuinige vensters geïnstalleerd. De meest recente updates waren nieuw tapijt in de woonkamer en koelkast (2017), nieuwe vaatwasser, werkbladen met gootstenen en kranen in keuken en badkamer (2018), en bad / douche-ruiten (2018). De slaapkamer is volledig gerenoveerd met nieuwe vloerbedekking, tropisch meubilair geïmporteerd uit het vasteland en een nieuwe kingsize matras. Het heeft een Tommy Bahama-quilt en blijft consistent met het tropische thema. Foto's weerspiegelen de stijl van de flat.

ANDERE VOORZIENINGEN zijn onder meer uw persoonlijke wasmachine en droger, plafondventilatoren, een stille raam-AC, gratis snelle WiFi, gratis gebruik van een Dell-laptop en -printer (zie beschrijving) en gratis interlokale telefoondiensten naar de VS en Canada. Daarnaast heeft het appartement een flatscreen-tv met Spectrum's "Silver" tv-kabelpakket en een dvd / vHS-speler met en een eclectische bibliotheek met boeken, videorecorders en dvd's - verschillende met Hawaïaanse geschiedenis en / of cultuur. Strandspeelgoed, snorkelspullen, parasols, handdoeken en stoelen zijn beschikbaar voor mijn gasten.

Ik woon nu ongeveer drie kilometer van de flat en kan persoonlijk regelmatig een grondige reiniging en onderhoud uitvoeren. Ik ben ook beschikbaar om elk probleem meteen op te lossen. Ik wil dat mijn gasten de best mogelijke vakantie-ervaring hebben.

HET KIHEI AKAHI COMPLEX heeft een prachtig tropisch terrein met Plumeria-bomen, Hibiscus en andere volwassen, weelderige Hawaiiaanse planten. Een botanische tuinwandeling is op het terrein met kaarten verkrijgbaar bij de receptie.

HET STRAND. Overkant van de straat is een zandstrand Kamaole II Beach Park met douches en toiletten. Gedurende de dag tot 05:00, het strand park heeft het leven bewakers. Bij Kam II, zoals het genoemd wordt, zul je in staat zijn om de stralen van de zon te vangen (slijtage zonnebrandcrème!) of zwemmen en snorkelen - en zijn waarschijnlijk een groene zeeschildpad of twee te zien. 'S Avonds kunt u zitten op het strand op het westen of mijn persoonlijke Lanai en de zonsondergang bekijken terwijl u een glas wijn of een diner nuttigt.

HANDCAPPED BEREIKBAARHEID: Mijn condo is toegankelijk via rolstoel. Het is echter niet waar ADA compliant en daarom niet opgezet voor veel van de behoeften van gehandicapte gasten. Bespreek uw wensen met mij alvorens te boeken.

DIEREN DIEREN. Hoewel in het Kihei Akahi-complex echte ADA-conforme dieren zijn toegestaan, zijn DIEREN en COMFORT DIEREN NIET TOEGESTAAN. Voor het gebruik van een dienstdier is voorafgaande toestemming vereist na het indienen van de volledige documentatie. Daarnaast zullen er extra kosten zijn om de condo naar een allergeenvrije staat terug te brengen, omdat ik en veel van mijn gasten allergieën hebben.

ROOKVRIJ CONDO. Roken is niet toegestaan in mijn flat of op de Lanai. Kihei Akahi heeft een beleid van niet roken in de gangen, de veranda, of binnen 50 voet van elke gebouwen.

Mahalo to the guests for staying with me. The guest's statement is very puzzling as the Bedroom has a very large Jalousie style window about 10 feet wide and covered by cream colored pull cord drapes. It is immediately visible to anyone who walks into the Bedroom. On the inside of the Jalousie window is an internal soundproof window for guests who are sensitive sleepers. Instructions for using the soundproof feature and the Jalousie windows are on the dresser in the Bedroom and in the check-in document sent to guests after final payment.

Wonderful Condo within walking distance of the beach!

This condo is in such a great location . You can walk from the property across the street and be at the beach. I would recommend this rental in a heartbeat. It was clean, well stocked, and convenient to so many things in Kihei.

Perfect Getaway!

Our unit contained everything we needed in a great location. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. Parking was included and handy. The property was very quiet. We would definitely stay there again.

Walkable and great location for family stay

Our family of 4 stayed at Annette's condo and found it well stocked and convenient for our trip. Kids slept on the sofa bed and the living room was roomy enough to leave the bed out and still have room to walk around to the lanai. The condo is a 2 minute walk to Kamaole Beach 2, restaurants and shops, which made this a perfect location.

Great place and great hostess

Annette was a great hostess, as she was very good at communicating to my wife and I during our stay. We stayed a week after Hurricane Lane hit Hawaii and Annette made sure we knew everything on Maui was okay to ease our nerves. The condo is in a great location, walking distance to the beach and many great restaurants in Kihei. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here, it makes for a great vacation.

Convenient and good value

This property is conveniently located near beaches, restaurants and an easy trek to other locations on island. Everything you could need is provided and in good condition. Only issue was phone service in the bedroom, however it’s fine in the rest of the condo areas. Overall great place to stay and a good value.

And thank you so much for leaving the condo in great condition. About phone service. Cell phone service can be sketchy at times throughout the island. It can be frustrating and is why I have a landline VOIP in my home-- so that I can have good conversations when needed and the signal isn't as strong as I would like. The Kihei Akahi is very strongly built with thick concrete walls which is both the good news and the bad news. The walls keep sound transfer through walls to other units down to a minimum. But, on the other hand, the thick walls do interfere with mobile phone signals -- just like in large office buildings and elevators. I provide a landline telephone in the condo with an extension in the bedroom for guests. Most of my guests don't use it because they have their own phones but it is there for those who really need good reception when the signal doesn't penetrate the walls. Mahalo for staying with me.

Thank you to the guest for your review. I agree that the condo needed some additional care. Unfortunately, the guest came in on a day that another guest had just checked out. Because my cleaner was out of town, I was the cleaner and when I arrived at the condo, I found that some essential items had gone missing or were broken and two of the four hours allotted to cleaning were spent in shopping for replacements. Since then I have had more time in between guests and a chance to spend a couple of days on the deep cleaning that was needed. My condo is island style so it has bamboo, rattan, and tropical fabrics and to some that may appear dated while others find it consistent with their idea of Hawaii. The bedroom furniture, for example, is rattan but only three years old. Recent updates include: 1) new firm king bed (2015), 2) sofa re-upholstering (2015), 3) new lanai slider windows (2015), 4) new AC (2015), 5) new carpeting throughout (2016 and 2017), 6) new printer for guest computer (2016), 7) new lanai furniture (2015), and 7) new refrigerator (2017). Upcoming updates (August 2018) include new counter tops, new dishwasher, and cabinet refinishing. My goal is to offer an attractive and affordable tropical condo experience for my guests.

I have been coming to Maui since 1982 when I finally fulfilled my dream of visiting Hawaii. Maui really is a wonderful, special place and I feel fortunate to own my little piece of paradise and be able to share it with my guests.

I encourage my guests to ask questions about Maui and their upcoming vacations. Many come back year after year and have become part of what I call "my Maui family."

The first time I stayed at the Kihei Akahi complex was in 1987. Previously, I had always stayed in the Kaanapali area in one of the hotels. My friends with whom I was traveling and I really liked the relaxed pace of Kihei and the spaciousness of one-bedroom condos. We liked being able to just walk across the street to a great beach for swimming and snorkeling. Subsequently all of my return visits were to this part of the island.

When I finally decided to buy my own condo, I checked out many other properties as well but found that, for me, Kihei Akahi offered the best value. Kihei Akahi is built with very solid construction which means that sound does not normally travel between walls; units are very quiet. I also liked that I could walk to shops and restaurants -- a feature that I thought would appeal to my guests. And, of course, the grounds of the Kihei Akahi complex are kept up beautifully which makes it nice for me and my guests to visit.

I love that my condo sits at the back of the property facing west toward the sunsets and away from the noise of South Kihei Rd. It is a minute or two further to the beach than some other units, but it is very quiet and peaceful. Being on the ground floor, I can simply walk out my lanai door to the lawn and I am 20 seconds to the pool and BBQs or am on the beach in about three-five minutes. I am walking distance (about 5-20 minutes) to enough restaurants and stores that I don't have to use my car unless I need to buy a lot of groceries or something special. Birds and plants on the property give me a great sense of peace and happiness. I hope you experience the same when you visit Maui.
