Je zult genieten van het zitten op de steiger van de baai in dit gezellige huisje! De perfecte plek voor u en uw gezin, deze woning ligt op een van de prachtige grachten van het eiland en is de perfecte plek om de boot te binden om van een middag te genieten. Dit biedt de mogelijkheid om te vissen of een mooie boottocht over ons prachtige eiland te maken. Terwijl u geniet van de familie in de woonkamer, kunt u altijd naar buiten stappen door de glazen schuifdeuren naar het achterdek.

Je bent op een steenworp afstand van het vangen van een aantal stralen op het dek, terwijl de kinderen genieten van een middagje zwemmen. Family beach trip

Our family of 5 enjoyed your house. It was clean and comfortable. It's an easy walk to the beach. The neighborhood is quiet.

Overall, had a great time. Needs a couple chnages.

I would rate this home a 3.5. Pros: Close to the beach Waterfront access to canal, great for fishing! Close to restaurants and shops Large living-room for socializing Loved the swings on back porch Beds were comfortable Cons: All vents looked to have a black mold problem. This needs to be looked into! Internet was very spotty. Halfway through a movie or TV show, it would freeze. No mixing bowls in kitchen and no salt or pepper. Front yard needs sprayed for fire ants! They got in our vehicle which made for an interesting trip back home. Overall, we had a great time. But I would mention these to someone wanting to rent.

Nice clean house. Check it out.

House was very nice and clean. Really enjoyed the dock and canal for swimming and fishing. Any minor issues we had were fixed in less than an hour of reporting the issue. One being wifi was down and the other being the a.c. drain had to cleared. No complaints because that can happen anywhere. I would recommend this house to others and would stay there again.

Beautiful home in a perfect location

The house is great. It’s on the canal. My family enjoys being able to walk out the door and fish. I like that it’s not far from the beach. It has been our go-to stay for a few years.

Pleasant stay

This cottage was basically clean except the floors. They were quite dirty. Bathroom fixtures need repairs. Exterior light needs repairs.

From day one there was problems with the house,stairs are loose on both sides of house,toilet paper holders wouldn't stay on,kitchen table was broken,the bathroom drains need attention,,the peope I spoke with was amazing that's over the property but it was not a good stay and I use vrbo alot

Loved our weekend on the canal.

We really enjoyed the rental. Decor was cute, clean and pretty spacious for 6. We loved the kids room with bunk beds. The island is amazing - our first trip here. We will be back. When exiting, the directions asked us to run the dishwasher but no detergent was left for us. We used our own but wondered if all who leave just "rinse" the dishes or if the cleaning crew re-washes. Just a thought. There should be at least ONE dishwasher detergent left for exiting. Overall - other than that small but curious thing - we loved our stay and would recommend it.

You get what you pay for.

Air was nice and cold, couch was confy, kitchen well stocked. Wifi was good. Hall bath tub faucet needs to be repaired/replaced. Love a hot shower but that was the only option in that bath. 3 out of 4 couldn't sleep on master mattress due to extreme softness (sink a good 6" or more) luckily 17 year old was good with it. Steps and deck need some TLC. Would only stay here again if we had a boat.

Beautifully located

The house was a perfect place to dock our boat and host our family. There was lots of space to spend quality time. The only drawback was the master bed’s mattress was too soft. Other than that, it was a great choice.

Average place, needs attention to details

Place looks amazing inside. Bright, great layout. We found details to be lacking to the point where you felt like they weren't interested in happy guests, but were interested in booking you (and getting your money) and then you were on your own. Beds were wrapped in plastic making it impossible to sleep. Someone else's dirty underwear behind the dryer. Dead bugs behind couch and tv. Crock pot (which we counted on using) didn't work. Back door deadbolt didn't lock. No coffee filters provided in a town that sells coffee filters nowhere. Deck nails popped up everywhere on the rough deck and stairs. No ladder on the dock to exit the water if you choose to swim in the canal. No other way to get out either. The neighbor was concerned for our kids' safety and gave them an extra ladder to use. Picnic table in the pictures isn't there anymore, so a house that sleeps 6 has a table inside that seats only 4. Roofers showed up at 7:15 a.m. one morning while we were in bed and started throwing bundles of shingles onto the roof. No warning from property management. When staying with this management company, you get no personal greeting from someone who asks you to let them know if you need anything, so it took more than 90 minutes to hear back from local manager after contacting the national phone number about the roofers. They ask you to "throw a load of towels and sheets into the washer before you leave" however do not provide laundry soap or disinfectant or laundry cleaner of any kind. Makes me wonder how the people before me "cleaned" my sheets and towels. So very gross. Will definitely not stay with this management company again.

Spring Break!

Great house with a great location. Very clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Great location close to everything only thing that we had issue with was the WI-FI but found out it was pretty much the whole island having issues. Would be happy to go back!

Wonderful Update!

Canal Cottage is freshly updated with new flooring, new appliances, new bathroom fixtures, new dock, etc. It has a great waterfront location and nice view of sunsets. I'm looking forward to future visits. NOTE: I had stayed at Canal Cottage in 2019 and left a negative review because of dirty and rundown conditions, broken appliances, clutter and owner's possessions in closets and dressers, etc. I'm glad to say that the (new?) owners have totally refurbished the place.

Great location and great house

The house is in a great location, the decor was lovely. My 80 year mother was happy with the quality of everything. We’ve stayed at other houses on the Island which were good but this one is our new favorite.

Overall great stay!

The house was exactly what we were looking for our stay. It was about 5 minutes walking to the white sandy beach. The house is big, has plenty of room and was clean. It was nice having the 2 bathrooms and the shower outside to rinse before coming inside. The main negative is the mattress in the master bedroom. It is so extremely soft that you couldn't sleep on it at all. Luckily, we were able to sleep in the other bedroom, which also wasn't a great mattress, but we were at least able to sleep. The kitchen was full of everything we needed and more. We really enjoyed the island!

Perfect couples getaway

My husband and I stayed here and it was a wonderful experience! We fished off the pier for hours, which is just steps from the back door. It was in a nice, quiet neighborhood with lovely views of the canal and the ocean. Although it’s not directly on the beach it was perfect for us, plus there are beach parking passes and it’s literally about a minute down the road. There was no traffic or crowds to deal with and you can park just steps from the ocean, so it wasn’t a big deal at all because you can park right by the water. The house was clean and the inside recently updated. The kitchen was great for cooking and outdoors my husband grilled while I laid in the hammock! I have the ‘communication with property manager’ section 5 stars although we didn’t require contact them but the email and confirmation text came through before our stay and everything went smoothly. Dauphin Island is my new favorite vacation spot and I would love to revisit this home!
