This cottage is the owner's dream house. You can see it in the details put into the property. Beautiful wrap around deck, and master bathroom. Some things are a little unique -- the refrigerator is in the basement, which is immaculate, and just steps from the kitchen. There was nowhere inside to eat, but there's a table on the deck, covered, and away from the weather. Well, there is a custom table, pushed out of the way, so it's really not meant to be used. And strange, but nice in a way -- a lack of mirrors and closets.
One minor suggestion -- the listing mentions a Keurig coffee maker, so we made sure to bring pods. But, it's a regular drip -- and coffee is available at the store on island. Oh, and golf carts are in short supply, so reserve early. The locals are really wonderful, and took pity on us, giving us a ride from the ferry to the house. It's only a little over a half mile, but when bringing in provisions, it can feel a lot longer!
In all, we had a lovely stay. Daily strolls about the island, and remarkably empty beaches for July. And there is something magical about everyone you pass waving. It only takes minutes to realize that it is a local custom - practiced even by teens! We loved it!
