De definitie van Serendipity is het op een gelukkige manier voorkomen en ontwikkelen van gebeurtenissen. De huiseigenaren vinden het erg serendipitair dat ze dit heerlijke huis hebben gevonden! Ze willen hun speciale plek graag met je delen. Het is een perfect uitje voor een of twee koppels. Beide slaapkamers hebben kingsize bedden en een eigen badkamer. Serendipity ligt in het charmante en schilderachtige dorp Cheshire, op slechts 1,5 km van het centrum van Black Mountain. U kunt door de straat lopen en dineren in The Artisan, Sake Sushi of Black Bear Tavern.

Het geweldige huis was eerder door de Raleigh News and Observer geselecteerd als Home of the Month. Deze prijs is een samenwerking tussen de krant en de School of Design van NC State University via haar ontwerpinitiatief voor thuisomgevingen. De architect, Thomas Lawton, ging zachtjes over in de heuvels van deze gewilde Village of Cheshire-gemeenschap en maakte gebruik van inheemse stenen, cederhouten gordijnen en inheemse landschapsarchitectuur. Buitenkamers werden gecreëerd met overdekte portieken en een terras uitgehouwen uit de heuvel. Binnenin heeft een loftachtig interieur schone, moderne lijnen en veel ramen.

This cabin in the woods is an amazing getaway for those seeking restorative energy. Throw your plans out the window and relax under the beautiful forest canopy out side by the fire. Epic stuff... my only recommendation is to update the living room furniture to be more accommodating for 4 adults, and the coffee table moves every time you try to prop your feet up.

Relaxing weekend retreat

We absolutely loved this place! It was extremely clean and met our needs. We especially loved the attention to detail and how the interior decor was a reflection of the outdoors. We will definitely stay here again!

Quick trip

We met some friends for a long weekend. What a beautiful house and neighborhood. The house was close enough to town to make it convenient but secluded enough to get away. We ate the last night right there at Saki Sushi and really enjoyed that as well. I highly recommend anyone staying here.

Truly a treehouse

Loved the house! Beds were very comfortable and the house was very clean and cozy. Very easy to get to and restaurants within walking distance. Definitely a keeper. Hope to come back God willing.

Perfect getaway!

This is a sweet property. Our adult son and wife joined us so it was perfect for four. There are a lot of steps heading into the property and within the home;, so if you have any mobility issues that could be a problem. We loved the charming cottage and the location!

R&R in the Treetops

We had a wonderful stay at this property - modern, architecturally-designed interiors - very comfortable, well-appointed, especially a terrific bed. Property management is top notch, Important note: this home has three levels - and natural stone steps up to the front door. Need to be sure-footed and able to do stairs.

Loved the location and the neighborhood! IMPORTANT: the bedrooms have no doors…none. And please note the items they state because of you are staying longer than a week- you run out of basic things like toilet paper very fast.

Very pleasant

This home is beautiful. It was clean, well appointed and unique. It had everything we needed and was very comfortable. With a full open floor plan and few doors, there’s not a lot of privacy. We enjoyed the beautiful porches and patio, though the neighbor was unhappy that our group of 4 was outside talking by the fire at 10:45 pm on Friday (no music). We love the location and community and would stay again.

perfectly removed

This whole community is a design study.. there are nearby neighbors but situation of the homes and windows have been planned in such a way that you barely notice. Beautiful setting. We enjoyed walking around, being a little outside Asheville, which was super busy due to fall tourism etc. Had a nice drive on the Blue ridge parkway, thing Chimney Rock, and toured the Biltmore estate.

Long weekend

My husband, our 2 daughters and I stayed for a long weekend. We loved the look and design of the house. We loved the showers and our 17 yr old loved the soaking tub. The weather was perfect for opening the windows when it got a little warm inside - preferred that over turning on the a/c. The Cheshire Village restaurants are within walking distance. Local grocery store is a very short drive. This is a great location - we hiked at Chimney Rock and went zip lining in Ashville. Both just short drives. We will rent this again if we return to the area!

No Heat

The home had no heat and it was 32 degrees outside. All of the smoke detectors chirped the entire time. It looked as if it had not been clean and the envelope with the tip from previous renters was still on the counter.

There was no heat and it got down to 21 degrees. We almost had to leave.

There is now ay a house in the mountains should be rented with no heat. The fireplace was not adequate to heart the whole house. I was unable to even go downstairs. I am very unhappy and should get a partial refund.

I would like to address the heating issue raised in your review. This home is outfitted with a sophisticated central HVAC system for heating and cooling. While the gas fireplace display gives off some heat, it is mostly ambient and not in place to heat the home. We offer a 24/7 on-call service in which the agent on duty can assist you and coordinate maintenance responses to any issues you’re experiencing during your stay. However, we do not have a record of you utilizing that service or any other communication from you that indicated issues. Should you choose to stay with us again in the future, we encourage you to reach out if and when you encounter an issue so we can resolve it or find alternate accommodations for you if it cannot be resolved during your stay.

Lacks privavy

I am giving this place just okay because of the lack of privacy. There were no window treatments on the main floor or the top bedroom. I can get over the main area but the master bedroom didn’t have blinds or curtains. And the blinds in the master bathroom didn’t key out all the way so there are significant gaps at the bottom of some of the windows. Cute place and neighborhood but the expectation of privacy is a given. Had an issue with the air conditioner but the management company was prompt and great to deal with.

We're so sorry for the inconvenience you encountered with the air conditioning, but we're pleased to hear our team was quick to respond and resolve the issue. Regarding privacy, we're sorry you felt this home was lacking. To clarify, all of the bedrooms and bathrooms are equipped with blinds that span the length of the windows, including the top-floor primary bedroom. The only exception on the top-floor primary bedroom is the French doors leading out onto the Juliet balcony, but it does not face any other homes. The homeowner was very intentional in purchasing custom blinds to help guests feel comfortable while still able to enjoy that signature Cheshire Village "treehouse" feel. I am happy to share that the homeowner is considering adding blinds to the main level windows soon to improve privacy even more. We appreciate you choosing us at Greybeard Rentals, and we hope you'll consider staying with us again so we can redeem this somewhat disappointing experience and provide you with an exceptional getaway from start to finish!

Beautiful Mountain Respite

Serendipity is the perfect mountain getaway. It’s colorful, warm and inviting. This was our first trip since the Covid Pandemic started. We were craving the mountains and were very much in need of vacation, although this trip was partially a work related one, it was so relaxing coming “home” to Serendipity! We usually cooked our own meals or picked up carry out due to the pandemic. The appliances are quality, which made cooking a joy. We thoroughly enjoyed the ventless fireplace since it was so cold outside. Another treat for me was the soaking tub, although the showers were very nice too. Loved the under the stairs lighting, colorful decor and comfortable beds!. Great location and easy access, which was a plus for us since there was ice and some snow. We hope to return when it’s warmer, so we can enjoy the outside decks and patios. It was such a treat and worth every penny!

Lovely stay

Overall we really liked this property. As others have said, we thought it was well-suited to two of us, but maybe not so well-suited to four, even though it is two bedrooms. The bedrooms themselves are lovely and spacious, but there is no privacy, really, in the entire unit. There is also barely enough comfortable seating in the common area for two. The house is is in an area of the planned development called the Treehaus (I think that was the spelling) and the home really did feel like a treehouse, nestled in lots of trees. That made it dark, even on sunny days. The kitchen felt like a space in an RV or tiny house - we had everything we needed, but it was very compact. The little neighborhood itself if great, and we walked down to the market, the sushi restaurant and a little bar several times. It was very conveniently located near Black Mountain, which is a favorite place of ours.

Beautiful neighborhood close to everything. Well appointed home! Quiet and comfortable. Would suggest a few blinds on windows in main living area as homes are close together and did not feel comfortable for privacy purposes. No soap for bathing or dishwashing items where available upon arrival. Just went to store to purchase. Shower stopped working in 2nd bathroom but tub was available. Did not call maintenance for this. Had problems getting temperature comfortable due to high tec thermostat. Maintenance did come out to fix thermostat. Overall good stay and would stay again!

Find somewhere else to stay.

The house was not as expected. There were several areas that hadn’t been cleaned such as the range hood which had Wash me written in the dirt from previous renters. Upon arrival the thermostat was set at 55. We turned up the temp. Unpacked and headed out for dinner. When we returned, the thermostat had reverted back to 55. We once again changed the temp and proceeded with our night. Throughout the night it changed and dropped back to 55 making for a very cold night of sleep. Thinking maybe it was a fluke, we set the temp back up so when we returned from our day out the house would be warmed. Sure enough, we we returned it was again frigid. I messaged the rental company. She said someone would be contact us to fix it the next morning. The call never came. We played the game of turning it up and it going back down throughout our stay. We covered up and suffered through the cold nights. No one ever contacted us or checked back in ro make sure we didn’t have any more issues. I also mAde them aware that there were cleaning issues. They advised they would let the cleaning staff know. Be prepared to bundle up if you stay here. Also make sure you don’t mind the neighbors staring at you from the house next door as there aren’t any blinds on the main floor nor blinds on all the windows in the 3rd floor bedroom. The neighbors in the house next door stood in their windows watching us in the living room. This was one room we could try to stay warm since this is where the fireplace was.

Anniversary weekend

Husband and I loved this modern treehouse. Neighbors where close but we still felt secluded.
