The cottage is tiny and cute. It has a great location since it’s a straight walk to the beach. It was super quiet, which is really important to us.
However… the cottage was a little “rustic” for me. No real little luxuries or amenities, and for the price we paid, I wasn’t super impressed. First of all, the place was not nearly as clean as I would expect. The blankets and decorative pillows had visible dirt on them. The bedroom door was literally crusty around the doorknob. The bathroom smelled of mildew. The dishes were not cleaned properly - I took a stack of plates down one day and there was sticky gunk on the bottom of them, and there was hardened food on the forks in the drawer. Please, invest in a small dishwasher! That is truly gross and unsanitary.
In addition, the parking situation was ridiculous. I don’t think I fully realized that I would have to negotiate with perfect strangers when trying to use my car during a stay that I paid thousands for. That was extremely awkward, so we ended up parking down the street for nearly our entire stay.
If you are low-maintenance, you’d probably enjoy this cottage. It was a quiet little respite for us while we waited for our new place to be ready, and we appreciate that it is pet-friendly. However, it would need some updates for me to be happy there.
