Stap terug in tijd en vakantie in stijl in dit charmante en gunstig gelegen Victoriaanse juweeltje. Het Witte Huis is gebouwd in 1878 en heeft veel charme en geschiedenis. Gevuld met erfstukken van periode-specifieke inrichting, dit charmante huis met twee slaapkamers culmineert in de Victoriaanse Ferndale-ervaring. Dit prachtige toevluchtsoord heeft een ruime, warme en uitnodigende woonkamer waar je gemakkelijk eindeloze uren kunt doorbrengen met het lezen van een goed boek of chatten met je vrienden en het plannen van de avonturen van morgen. De volledig uitgeruste keuken zal je echt helpen je innerlijke chef te kanaliseren en iedereen trakteren op heerlijke huisgemaakte maaltijden. Bovendien beschikt het over een gezellig ontbijthoekje. De woning is in de afgelopen vier jaar gerenoveerd en gerestaureerd. Het beschikt over een grote verzameling originele oude foto's van het gebied, inclusief maar niet beperkt tot houtkap, melkveehouder en de gebouwen van Ferndale, Eureka, Arcata en Fortuna. Het is niets minder dan een museum. Buiten biedt dit juweeltje gasten een handige gasgrill en een eethoek in de openlucht, waardoor de perfecte ambiance voor cookouts wordt gecreëerd.

Wat is er in de buurt:
Centraal gelegen op een halve straat van Main Street en op slechts een steenworp afstand van het steakhouse van Ivanhoe of de Victoriaanse herberg van Ferndale, is dit hartverscheurende uitje dicht bij alles! Volg een wandeling door de adembenemende architectuur; het Gingerbread Mansion ligt op slechts een steenworp afstand! Er zijn talloze winkels en restaurants op een steenworp afstand van uw voordeur. Centerville Beach ligt op slechts een korte rit van Ferndale. Een ander must-bezoek dat je letterlijk aan de overkant van de straat kunt vinden, is Poppa Joe's! Je bezoek aan Ferndale zou niet compleet zijn zonder een andere aloude Ferndale-traditie: een hotdog in de Red Front Store, die toevallig in de buurt is. Centerville Beach County Park ligt op vijf mijl afstand en is perfect voor strandjutten, vogels kijken, wild te bekijken. Bovendien is het een van de minder drukke stranden in Californië, iets waar je niet eens van zou dromen!

Excellent stay

The Beauregard is a beautiful house that is spotlessly clean, loaded with creature comforts, and conveniently located. This was our second stay and it won’t be our last.

Wonderful stay

What a great place! We have nothing bad to say whatsoever, and love the clawfoot tub! Quick responses, and even let us check in a little early as well as use the washer and dryer! Fabulous and highly recommend this place

Thoroughly enjoyed staying at White House. It is as described in VRBO listing. Property is perfectly located within walking distance to shops and food. Also, excellent location to explore the Redwood Parks both north and south. Enjoy

Museum accessorized home

Great place to stay and enjoy being part of the local area for a few days. The house is amazing with antiques and collectibles and pictures of the town as it was being built 150 years ago. Quiet, except when the fire alarms go off since it’s by a fire station would highly recommend to anybody that comes to the area.

A Pleasant Stay

A beautiful Victorian home in the heart of downtown Ferndale. Warm and comfortable. Historical furnishings, photos and decor. Has a claw foot tub instead of shower, so guest must be able to negotiate getting in and out of a large tub.

Epic Victorian home

We brought our 3-yr-old for a weekend vacation in beautiful Ferndale. The house is decked out with the most exquisite Victorian antiques and little details. Every inch of the place full of artifacts and it is clear that the proprietors care very much about preserving the rich history of the home. It also had all the conveniences you might need for your stay. The location is nearly perfect, only half a block from the little downtown strip. It is in fact located next door to the fire station, the alarms of which we got to hear in the middle of the night. But it didn't wake up the kid, so it was really no big deal. We would definitely stay at this house again.

Comply, cozy, comfortable

Nicely appointed and uncomplicated. Liked the privacy of the courtyard where we enjoyed our wine. There were no disappointing surprises. And, loved its location in the heart of downtown Ferndale. We could walk anywhere within minutes.

Terrific little home

I booked the Little White House for a weekend away with my Mother and daughter. Prime location making it so easy to walk half a block to main st. The home is very ornately decorated with loads of antiques and memorabilia of the town. Home was clean, and perfectly stocked with general cooking equipment. Only down side was the home was cold unless all heaters were running and there is no shower only a tub. Overall highly recommended!!!

Nice historic victorian house

This was a nice 2 bedroom victorian house in historic Ferndale. Ferndale has a bunch of cool "butterfat" victorian homes from over 100 years ago. The charming quaint town is very safe. We had bikes locked to the truck rack. No fears of theft here parked in the driveway. I wouldn't feel the same about Eureka or Arcata. The house is a time piece decorated with historic photos and items. The bedrooms are beautiful. The claw foot tub is cooler to look at than to actually use, but there are no complaints. This is right next to the historic old town. An awesome option to Eureka or Arcata. Somethings are further away, but we are closer to the Avenue of the Giants and Eel River. Highly recommended.

Wonderful cottage!

This cottage was a wonderful, interesting, inspiring, and fun place to stay. The kids and us had such a fun time looking at all the interesting things in the cottage and took pictures of the kids posing with everthing. The back yard is like a magical secret garden and the location was perfect! Coffee, diner, everything just a few yards away at the end of the block. Best location for convenience and ease of access of any vacation rental we've ever stayed at. We were able to leave our teenager to babysit for an hour in the evening for us adults to have some grown up time at the end of the block at The Palace and feel totally comfortable and safe. Honestly, this was the best weekender vacation we've ever had. We are so happy. Also, we all had great nights sleep because unlike any other vacation rental we've ever slept at, this place had really comfortable beds. Its was all around fantastic, we love Ferndale, and we will be booking this cottage every time we come back from now on.

A real charmer

The night we were supposed to check in, the area had a major earthquake. Power was off, and it was difficult, if not impossible to even enter the town so my reservation was delayed by one day. Fortunately, I was able to find alternate lodging. The property manager was really helpful and able to get the place cleaned up from the earthquake so we could get in the second day once the power went on. The house itself is charming and tastefully decorated. It is within walking distance to everywhere on Main Street Ferndale. The beds were comfortable and the place has every amenity necessary. We all loved the reading about the history of the house. Ferndale is a must see for anyone traveling in the area. Having previously lived in Humboldt County, Ferndale is where we prefer to stay when we visit. I would highly recommend this property.

The Museum House

We love Ferndale, so decided to spend a few days there on our California road trip. We saw the description of the White House and decided to stay there. It was a beautiful victorian which the owners updated....partially. Almost all of the windows are original. They are all single paned, which wasn't a problem. Ferndale is very quiet at night. The problem was that the windows had been painted shut. All the windows had signs on them saying they do not open. If this was disclosed in the description, we would have stayed elsewhere. The kitchen sink was a BIG issue. The hot water knob was not connected to the countertop. The owner is aware of this and leaves a note to renters to "be gentle" with the faucet. I would think with the money they are making from just our rental, they could afford to have the faucet and knobs correctly reinstalled. One of the real issues we had is that the White House should be called the Museum House. There are literally glass museum display cases, historical pictures on the walls and antiques all over in every room. If you have little kids, this is not the place for you. Too many things can break. Also, if you like to cook, no luck here since there is no oven in the White House. Last thing, check out the local pizza place, there is only one, and it is yummy!
