Shell Cottage at Cape Fear Station invites you to Bald Head Island! BHI is a unique and peaceful island accessible by a 20 minute passenger ferry or private yacht. The island has golf carts and biking as the mode of transportation. Shell Cottage is within walking/biking distance to East Beach—one of the most favored beaches on the island—Turtle Conservancy, and Mike's Bites. Shoals Club is located conveniently close with a temporary membership available with a daily/weekly pass for an additional fee. The Maritime Market (grocery) is located 8 minutes by golf cart from the house with shopping and spa available. The Marina is located 12 minutes from the house with restaurants and many activities available.

Long term rentals welcome. 1 month to 3 months available. Discounts applied.

A charming 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage with a newly added bathroom and 2nd bedroom to make your family visit more comfortable. The house has a fully equipped galley kitchen, two flat screen TV's with cable, wifi/reliable internet, beach/bath towels, and bed linens. The house is equipped with a wealth of amenities including beach chairs, boogie boards, pop up tents, beach toys, youth sports equipment, movies, books, and games.

The cottage has one 4 person golf cart provided for guest use. 4 adult bicycles and 2 kid bicycles are available for renter use (conditions vary due to beach climate).

Complimentary starter supplies of cleaning products, paper towels and bath tissue. House is professionally cleaned between each guest.

Early check in and late check out available depending on schedule. Please check with owner regarding availability of check in/out schedule. Sleeps up to 4 people. Rental insurance is required in lieu of a security deposit.

It was very easy to reserve the property and communicate with the host. My husband and I enjoyed how comfortable and clean the cottage was. There were also wonderful starter products in the bathrooms and all the kitchen items we needed to make our stay easy. We definitely will return.

We had a wonderful family vacation on BHI! The house is great, close to the beach and exactly as advertised. Perfect for families of 4. Dianne is an extremely responsive host, and was available to address anything that came up. Would absolutely stay here again!

There were some glitches in the check-in process but the host was quick to respond and the problems were solved in a very timely manner. Having 2 golf carts was a real bonus, as the beach chairs could be loaded on one with plenty of room for 4 adults to get to the beach easily. I do wish I'd known to go ahead and make ferry and tram reservations at the time of booking. We waited until closer to the vacation time and found that all the ideal times were completely full. We'll keep this in mind for the next time!All in all, we had a really great time and came home with fun memories.

A truly lovely home and base to enjoy the wonderful island. The layout of the space was great and we enjoyed the table nook as a nice spot to eat and chat.

Great house for a couple's getaway! It is in a great location on the island with quick access to everything but also still with lots of privacy. Dianne was one of the best hosts I have stayed with - super accommodating and quick to respond.

Lovely stay at a wonderful cottage hosted by the most responsive property owner. Beds and pillows were comfy, golf cart was new and in good shape, kitchen well equipped and loved the convenient East Beach location. Family was super pleased with our stay and expect to return again!

Mother’s Day Weekend Getaway

We had a wonderful stay. We came to BHI for a 3 night Mother’s Day getaway. The home was exactly what our family needed. The location was great and the house was well stocked with everything we needed for our stay. We will definitely look to stay here again.

Relaxing, worry free stay

Shell Cottage is in a quaint spot in the woods, yet only a few minutes to the beach by golf cart. We found the place quite comfortable and in immaculate condition. We'd stay there again!

The best property on the Island! Stocked with everything you could need and super close to the beach, market and activities. It was so nice to not have to worry about chairs, bikes or anything.
